Property is nice but slightly dated. Location will always trump the the finishes of the rooms. Great location, shuttle is an asset but be prepared to wait 30 minutes. Amenities are plenty but in need of upgrades. This is a very nice hotel/resort and would stay again. If it was overhauled it probably would be out of my price range so a very attractive option in Breck.
This hotel is nestled at over 11,000 ft elevation! Plan accordingly! Altitude sickness is a real thing!!! The location was phenomenal and the staff was very accommodating. Only downside was the lack of "shops" for essentials like snacks and extra items needed for your stay. Also everything on the slopes closes early, so plan ahead. The gondola stops running at 4:40 and basically the mountain shuts down . The shuttle service was excellent and very easy to use! I was surprised to see this "hotel" was actually a bunch of privately owned condos. That makes tour decor and condition of your room unique. Ours was great but needed some minor upkeep such as shoveling the porch and replacing heat lamp bulbs. Overall a GREAT stay!
Although we stayed at Mountain Thunder Lodge during the offseason, we couldn't have been more pleased. Everyone we encountered on the staff was so nice and helpful! The room was clean and well maintained. The location couldn't be better - just a quick walk to town for shopping, restaurants and bars. And if we didn't feel like walking because of rain or cold, we were able to easily get a ride on the resort's complimentary shuttle. The underground parking was convenient too!
This was our second stay at Mountain Thunder and, having stayed at several other places in Breckenridge, we will definitely be back!

Nice location being close to lifts and Main Street. Make sure you know this facility does not have maid service unless you want to pay extra. Main Street complex is a little worn and not a lot of stores or restaurants. Pull out couch was extremely uncomfortable (more than most). This particular unit faced Main Street and was very loud with the Irish pub blaring their music all day and night. Also the late night crowd was loud. There is no AC and was a little warm so when opening the windows, it was annoying. Nate, the shuttle driver was extremely nice and accommodating.
