![The castle stands on a hill on the left bank of the Vag river in the village of Betzkov
The castle was first mentioned in the chronicle of the XII century. In the 13th century, a stone castle was built on the site of the original wooden castle. In the XIV-XV centuries, the castle was rebuilt by the owners, the Stibor family, one of the most influential families of Hungary. In the XVI century, due to the constant danger of Turkish raids, the fortifications of the castle were strengthened. In the XVII century, the castle lost its significance. "For the place it's nice hotel. It has some flaws but overall I'd go there again. Hotel is nicely designed but the rooms could be better equipped. We had full board, the buffet breakfast could be better, but I understand they can't put tons of food for total aprox 10 people accommodated in the hotel during our stay. The lunch and dinner was excellent. "

Central Location, Eclectic

"Hotel Trajan is located on the West side of the bridge while the check-in desk, dining room and parking are located on the East of the bridge. It's a ten minute walk between the two. Trajan is dated but it's clean and located in the middle of Centrum; so it's really convenient. I'd have to say the building is quaint. The doing room is eclectic because you are assigned a seat; well, I wasn't assigned a seat but was shuffled all over. The selection of breakfast food is OK... if you get there late, some of the breakfast goodies are gone and not replenished. All in all, decent value for the money. "
