Good points: house designed chic, classic style, good room setting, mini park /pond surrounding, good environment.
None good points: hot water system terrible, showroom water runs cool all night long, we had to take a cool water sickly bath.

Hello and thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts. I have checked the hot water in your room and found it to be operating correctly. Not sure what you mean by "showroom" but I do recall that you needed me to help you turn the shower on. Perhaps the same unfamiliarity with faucets prevented you from turning the handle left and right to adjust the temperature?
A very nice and modest property - it’s been there a long time - and very convenient to Mt Rainier NP. It was a great spot to crash and rest - comfy bed in a small room after hiking in the park. Well cared for by staff, easy self-check-in. Very much appreciated the communications from the staff prior to arrival.
We, my husband and my two toddlers, arrived at 1pm. Check in was at 4p. I asked a lady who works there if we could hang out around the pond while we wait. She agreed. She also said she’d check if our room is ready and allow us in. She was about to give us the key when the manager fast walked towards us and said our room isn’t ready and we have to wait. He eventually let us in at 3p. The facility stinks! It was so stinky my son started gagging. Our room was dirty AF. There’s a vending machine that had 4 items. Not only that our room (4) was dirty, but it was the smallest room you could imagine. The location sucks because it’s right on the street. Breakfast was terrible. Don’t waste your money. The place is gross.

We're sorry that your experience was less than satisfactory. We go out of our way to provide our guests with great service. My associate made a mistake in thinking that your room was already finished. Good thing we caught it in time! Once we knew that you were here, we put a priority on that room. Sounds like you were able to check-in an hour earlier than our check-in time. There is usually a 50 early check-in fee associated with that. We waived this in your case. Could you tell us please what you mean by the room was dirty and that it stinks? What was dirty? What kind of odor. We take pride in the cleanliness of our rooms so these allegations are particularly troubling to us Finally, our breakfast is complementary to our guests. It's a humble offering designed to get you going with your day. We offer it because of the limited breakfast options in the area and are the only accommodation in the area that does so. We don't pretend to serve restaurant quality food.
Summer, the on site manager, was so helpful and friendly. The lodge itself is clean, quaint, and comfortable. Would recommend for folks visiting Mt. Rainer! Thank you!
It is an awesome spot to get away. Stayed there 4 years ago on my trip to Mt. Rainier, with the family, had to stay there again when I went back this year. Love the way this Lodge looks and feels. The rooms are comfortable. The pond area is a great and beautiful place.

Thank you so much Angel for your kind words. Please don't wait 4 more years to come back and see us. Guests like you mean the world to us!
Booked one night but did not end up staying there.
The area was booked out on a Saturday night but this lodge was completely empty (judging by their availability page and parking lot). It felt creepy for a solo traveler so I made an excuse and left on the same night.

That is not true. You decided to head back because you got on a flight via standby. You used the bed, took a shower, in short - used the room. Then, you expect a partial refund because you have to drive back. I can't, for the life of me figure out why you book a room 2 hours from the airport when you were on standby status for a flight but perhaps it is the same brand of logic which makes you think that you can fully dirty up a room and then get some kind of pro-rated refund based on YOUR personal choice to leave. I'm sorry but this is a level of entitlement that, even by the standards of the day, is jaw-dropping. Just to clarify, the entire strip was slow that night (not, as you previously stated - that we were the only ones with any vacancies. You seem to have a problem with being truthful. The bottom line is you can write all the negative reviews that you like but you will never get a dime back. I caution ANY other accomodation from renting to this whiny scammer!
Thank you for your review, we appreciate the feedback and would love to know what we can do better to improve your experience. We hope to see you again in the future.
Comfortable beds. Room was clean. A typical hotel double room. Very close to my Rainer NP.

Rooms are small and rates seem high. The rooms though are clean and response time to calls is quick. There is a nice roomy lobby or parlor to relax in. Long stairway to many of the rooms. Grounds are nice.

Older building very steep stairs. Room was about what I expected. Room was small old but clean.
Very close to the park. A good restaurant across the street up the road just a little. We were there first weekend in October and it was the last weekend for restaurant.
Our room was clean and comfortable. We didn't get to enjoy the grounds because of rain, but spent some time in the cozy parlor reading. We appreciated the breakfast basket each morning since it was the end of season and dining options were limited. The building had an interesting history and the location was just right for our visit to Mt Ranier.

Thanks Marlene, we loved having you stay with us. Please visit again!
The manager, Summer, was very friendly and helpful. I would say this place is more like a bed and breakfast. Comfortable rooms and everything was clean. There was even a pond and small hiking trail! It was a lovely little getaway. We switch to Alexander’s from the Gateway Inn down the street. A fantastic upgrade for not much more.

Thank you Christine. I was great getting to know you!
Beautiful location! Tasty breakfast basket in the morning. Summer was super helpful getting the heat going in our room and making sure our needs were met.
We stayed here on 9/25. Room 14 is under the trees/woods in the back of the building .The road has no light to the room. The worst was flies/ mosquitos inside/outside everywhere. The shower/ no bathtub is as small as a portable toilet. Paying $189 for this unfitted hotel near national park made me much more angrier. The person rejected our room exchange, and
yelled: we’re in the woods, what did you expect.
I killed the flies for you when you pinpointed where they were. Very nasty behavior to customers.

We appreciate your feedback, however we do want to note that you left the door to your room open for a long period of time, allowing the bugs to get inside. We pride ourselves on having high standards of cleanliness and inspect rooms daily, and can assure you we never leave a room with bugs inside of it prior to guest arrival. There is a light to the room, and the shower size has never been a complain for anyone prior to your visit. Your room exchange was rejected because we had no available rooms that night to switch you too. We apologize if you believe my coworker was yelling, she is partially deaf and as a result speaks louder than most humans, but we can assure you she would never purposefully yell at a customer. However, she does have a point. We are proud to be situated very close to the park entrance for Mt Rainier, but this also means that we are in a very rural area with wildlife. This also means that leaving a door open will typically lead to bugs coming inside, and we recommend at your next stay near nature, you keep all doors closed when not in use. We hope you have a wonderful week and thank you for choosing us as your stay.

This 120 year old property is unique, quaint, updated, very very clean, cute and comfortable! The grounds with pond and small waterfall and trails in the woods are lovely. Staff were friendly and efficient . I enjoyed Summer tell stories about the history of the homestead. There is an excellent restaurant just across the road and it's very close to the park entrance.

Nice historic property just outside ranier. A couple of restaurants within walking distance. Lots of uneven floors, etc but super clean and lots of character. Summer the assistant manager was there to welcome us and tell us goodbye. She was great. We will be back.
Summer was an amazing host and made sure that we had an amazing experience. Summer also provided us with extra towels and sheets and was very accommodating for our other needs as well.

Quaint Victorian lodge surrounded by beautiful foliage. Keep in mind that this is a 120-year old structure. It's not for you if you are expecting a streamlined hotel. Having two Tesla chargers was great too!
