My room was in a building separate from the pub itself, up a flight of steep stairs, which was a bit tricky because there is a stair lift attached and very little room for carrying your suitcase. However, the room was comfortable and pleasant, very good shower, plenty of toiletries, refreshments etc. I ate in the bar each evening, good selection although not many vegetarian options - but beware the Brie/Apple/Walnut salad, it is enormous!! For breakfast there were adequate choices of cereals, a little fruit, and lots of cooked options. The staff were all excellent, hard-working, some even there at breakfast when they had also been on duty the night before. There is a big garden, outdoor eating area, rabbits in hutches, toys for children…decent car-parking. One drawback was the incessant whirring noise from the pub in the evenings, extractor fan maybe, and it didn’t cease until nearly midnight. The room was very clean and had all necessary en-suite facilities including Tea/Coffee making with essential biscuits. Breakfast was included in the price but I was leaving at 5.15 in the morning to catch a balloon flight. The staff provided cereal to take to the bedroom overnight and offered to provide a sandwich if we were unable to arrive back before end of breakfast at 9.30\. Overall a very enjoyable stay with excellent friendly service. Sunday roast and breakfast were particularly amazing (and included a treat for our dog). Modern bathroom and cosy room. All staff very friendly and helpful. The staff were helpful and very friendly. We ate at the pub on both evenings. Food was really good.
