The best thing about the Puffin Inn is the airport shuttle which works well. Otherwise it was a disappointing experience. When I went to get into bed I noticed a large stain on the undersheet which I could see through the top sheet, it was palm sized. The breakfast was very poor, it was bagels and toast and there was one toaster for everyone, of which 2 of the four toasting slots were broken. It also took an hour for fresh coffee to be available from when I arrived at the start of the breakfast service. There are other things to mention, but you get the idea. For a stay costing around £200/night it was not what I expected.

The hotel is stunningly beautiful! The room was modern, pretty, very comfortable bed, with a priceless view!

Great place to stay for a night and we enjoyed the free breakfast. The staff was great.

The price

It seems like the Highliner Suites is a work in progress, possibly under new ownership, and it has a lot of potential. The biggest positive was the staff. Everyone we interacted with was genuinely friendly, helpful, and welcoming, which made our stay enjoyable. There is still quite a bit of construction happening, so expect some noise during the day, but it didn’t take away too much from the overall experience. Once the renovations are complete and everything is fully operational, I could easily see this becoming a 4 star, or even a 5 star, property. There are just a few finishing touches that would make a big difference, such as improving the light that comes through under the room doors, updating the carpeting and some of the appliances, and making the room doors easier to open and close. Overall, we had a good stay and appreciated the excellent customer service. I’m excited to see what this place looks like once all the work is finished.
