![I missed sunrise by a few hours this day, but the was still there early enough to catch some interesting blues on the shaded side of the peak. Though not one of Colorado's 58 Peaks over 14,000 feet, West Spanish Peak enjoys a great deal of prominence from its surroundings, making the 13,631 foot mountain the 12th most prominent in Colorado. It is also the easternmost 4000 meter peak in the United States. « We enjoyed our stay at The Well Hotel on our way to NM! It is not your typical chain hotel and that’s what makes it a special place to stay. They are doing some refurbishing so there are places that don’t look “perfect” right now but it will shine once it’s finished. Taylor was very hospitable and friendly, providing a bit of history of the hotel and area. Rooms were clean and beds comfy! »

Though not one of Colorado's 58 Peaks over 14,000 feet, West Spanish Peak enjoys a great deal of prominence from its surroundings, making the 13,631 foot mountain the 12th most prominent in Colorado. It is also the easternmost 4000 meter peak in the United States.
