Corso D'Italia 92, Rome - Map
"Great location- wonderful family hotel"
Loved this place! Right on a good bus route, across from a taxi stand, a block from the metro, and a 10 min walk from Termini station - but we actually walked everywhere because there's so much to see! Less than 15 min walk to Spanish steps. Staff were kind and helpful. Rooms were tastefully renovated. Great neighbourhood with mix of shops and restaurants. Everything was as they said it would be. Good value for money. I would love to go back some day!

Via Magenta, 13, Rome - Map
"Fabulously central"
Minutes walk from Termini Station on Via Magenta. It's a basic hotel on the 4th floor but the rooms are spacious and clean. Fresh towels are provided. Shared bathrooms which are clean. The proprietor is very friendly and extremely helpful; offering good advice on several local places to eat, where to visit and he warned me about pickpockets and tricks used by thieves near the station. My room was a little noisy in the early evenings but if you're going to stay in budget accommodation in central Rome, you should expect that!

Piazza Vittorio Emanuele II 121, Rome - Map
"10 minutes walk to termini station and colosseum"
I was surprised the hotel is a 1 star hotel. I would rate it as 3 stars. It is located close to all attractions, walking distance to Roma termini station, 10 minutes walk to colosseum, and in front of metro A which takes you to Vatican city, Spanish steps, fountain. There are lots of restaurants close by, some good ones from trip advisor. Staff friendly, she even let us keep our bags on check out so we can have lunch without carrying it. The room was a bit small, but clean. Bathroom cleAn, and trust me I have been to a 1 star hotels in Europe, and this does not compare. The hotel even gives you toothbrush and hairbrush. All in all, I am very happy with my stay and will stay again in the future!

"Comfy bed, ideal location, but there are issues!"
The hotel rooms are not at the same location as the concierge! On our our arrival the Concierge gave lots of info about restaurants/city etc whilst he was trying to be helpful it was all a bit much. He reccommended a bus tour of the city through "Green Line Tours" Really wish we hadnt done this but this is not the forum to write why. You will need a 10cent for every time you use the lift. We were in room 410. (4th floor): Our room was small with a juliet balcony. Outside was noisy so couldnt leave the doors open (its a city!) The walls were very thin, we could hear other peoples conversations/tv/lovemaking (!?) 2 small beds had been pushed together to make our double. But it was very comfortable! The bathroom was clean but very very small. I struggled to even dry myself in it. The water had to be put on for ages before luke warm water even glanced its way to the shower/sink. Then a mad rush to soap before it went cold. i couldnt wash my hair properly for the week. I made the mistake of putting the plug in the sink. Unbeknown to us it was broken. Leaving the sink full (unable to wash/clean teeth/fill water bottle) Apparently it couldnt be fixed till the following day. Found out during the night that the toilet paper hadnt been refilled by the cleaner:- get dressed again. 4 floors downstairs 5min run to concierge then back to hotel, 10 cent lift and then i can pee. Plus side: great location/comfy bed. What more do you need.

Hotel Lazzari

Via Castelfidardo 31, Rome - Map
"Reasonable price and close to Termini station."
The second floor of the hotel had Lazzari's reception desk. I believe there were three kinds of hotel name coexisting in the same building. The area was nice and safe. The staff, maybe hotel owner handed me three keys. First key is for the main entrance, second key is for the specific floor, and third key is for the room. There was a small elevator which can carry maximum three members. You need to open and close the door of the elevator.
