I stayed at the property over Thanksgiving holiday (4 days) with my family (wife and 3 kids).
The home is very nicely upgraded and clean. The host is amazingly friendly and super responsive. She really cares about your experience at her property.
The neighborhood is undergoing gentrification and felt safe. Very close to Audobon park, which is a home to Tulane Univ. and some really upscale houses and areas. The house is on a very busy main street, though, and can be a bit noise on a working day.
Before your book, do yourself a favor and look up on Wikepedia - "SHOTGUN HOUSE". These houses originated in NOLA. Unless you live in the Northeast or England in a row house, you will be surprised by the set up. Basically, the rooms are in a row, starting from the kitchen in the front and the bathroom at the back. To go to the bathroom, you have to walk through every single bedroom, and there is no privacy. Also, the house is fairly small and the large beds take abut 60-70% of the entire bedroom.
In short, if you plan to party at NOLA or spend most of the day outside sightseeing, and you need a place to sleep and take a shower, this will be a fantastic option and you will love your stay.
If you need a "cozy" family vacation home and you are with kids, which need social and play space, this is not it!
On a rainy day, like we had on Thanksgiving day, you will feel claustrophobic.
