It is an older motel and is fine if you don't mind that fact. The breakfast was very basic. No eggs or meat.

I feel badly to provide a bad evaluation, but it was obvious that there were repairs, easy ones, that should be done - for instance, all the base board heating covers were dismantled. The clock radio was broken; we had one towel set for the two of us, no soap, shampoo in the bathroom - generally there are small ones for customers to use on the outside chance they didn't bring their own. Just not up to par, really. I realize the price was low, but that shouldn't be in indication of attention to detail.

The front desk person was perfectly friendly but the hotel was a dump. We didn’t even bother checking in. And trust me… we are flexible and open minded people.

Mrs.Lindsay,I am very troubled about your review. I spoke to my staff concerning your issue when you came into the motel. You stated and I quote "Is it to late to cancel my reservation? My kids want to stay somewhere with a pool?" My staff explained to you that it was in fact to late as you were in the 24 hour cancellation policy and you would be charged for the room. You then stated "I'll be back" to which you did not return. This is very upsetting as we try very hard to ensure that our guests enjoy not only their stay but their room as well. I would ask that you think about the next review that you write as it can strongly effect others. This was a case of not being able to break our policy. It is very hard to turn people away to ensure that you your reservation is kept. My suggestion would be to either call the motel you are looking at or look on their website to see the amenities that your family will be enjoying.

While the motel was slightly outdated it was very clean and comfortable. We stayed two nights and they came and made up the room which the big chain hotels don’t do anymore unless you ask. It served its purpose for what we needed.

Give This One a Pass
Disappointing! From the moment you arrive, it’s obvious that the aging inn has been badly neglected for many years. Its deteriorating facade has noticeable cracks, chipped paint and rust and the disrepair continues inside with old stained carpeting, dated furnishings and a musty smelling, drab room. It fell to one hard working woman to clean the rooms while working the front desk checking in guests. She did an admirable job under the circumstances and seemed to be the one thing the inn has going for it. Also of note, the door to the room didn’t have a chain lock for added security, there was a keurig machine in the room but no coffee canisters to go with it, the dated TV remote wasn’t working right, the ice machine was broken and breakfast was very limited, consisting of cereal, yogurt and tangerines, nothing hot.

I am so sorry that you had a bad experience at our motel. We are in the middle of renovating the outside and with the 27 days of rain this month. Thus making it hard for us to complete. I will pass along the complement to our staff. You are correct we do have one staff to check in and clean rooms per shift. We do not have a chain as we installed dead bolts. We fell those were safer. As far as the coffee I apologize this should have been offered at check in as well as left in your room. The remote is the one that came with the tv. We just had the ice machines repaired. I apologize we were on a list for our appointment. They are repairing the ice machine as we speak. We needed to replace a part that came in today. I am very sorry. Breakfast-We offer a continental breakfast not a hot breakfast. We have bagels, toast, cereal, oatmeal, yogurt, fresh fruit. Coffee and tea, juice as well. If you have any ideas to add to this breakfast I am more than willing to listen. We do not offer hot breakfast. I would like to thank you for review. I hope in the future you give us another chance to show you how we can ensure a great stay!

The room was spacious and clean. But the visual aesthetic of the motel is very poor. Very rundown and dated. Locks on doors are still keys which is fine but not typical, television was extremely small. No ironing board or blow dryer. No hangers for coats. But they did have hooks. Staff was kind.

It appears that the hotel has some staffing issues but without a call, someone showed up to check me in about 15 minutes of waiting (must have seen me cameras.) Other than that, when I'm staying somewhere for a night for a ski weekend, I just want a shower and a bed so this place checked off all my needs. After reading other reviews, I think some people expect too much from motels like this. This isn't a five star resort, it's a place to wash up and lay your head.

Crystal,I am not sure as to a couple of your comments. The ice machine is working just fine. As for breakfast we just purchased the pastries this morning as well as the coffee. I am unsure why you stated this. The tv takes 15 minutes to program. This is due to gamers using the tv. Sorry about that. The thing that upsets me the most is that I know for a fact the room was clean. We might not have a lot of staff but we ensure that all rooms are clean!

This motel is being purchased by the state of Maine and turned into housing for the needy. They are trying to run it through the transition with very little help. Not a light on at the place. Had to turn around because we went right by it. There was no one to check us in when we arrived. I called the motel and left a message for the manager. She left a voice mail for me fairly quickly and told me that she could be there in about a half hour. By then we were up the street looking for a place to stay(all booked or too much $$). We went back and she showed up with hubby to let us in. Went to check out in the AM. No lights and nobody in the office. Called the number at the counter and listened to the phone ring. I left the key on the counter and off we went. Anyway...Don't go here!

I arrived to find the front door locked. The receptionist had gone to another motel to do checkins. Neither phone numbers left on a note on the door worked. Apparently one was forwarded to the receptionists cell phone as she called me back. I had about a 30 minute wait for her to come. Everything else was fine.

Hello, I am so sorry that you had to wait to be checked in. We have checked all of our phone numbers and there was no issue with them. I don't what the issue was when you were dialing. The wait time was also unacceptable. We are doing the best that we can with the staffing that we have. We had one staff that checks in at both of our motels. Since your visit I am happy to say that we were able to find more staff. I am so sorry. I hope that we see you in the future.

We stayed at the Colonial Valley to do some ATV'n with the family. The hotel is a little dated, however, it is clean and the staff is super friendly. We had no issues and would for sure stay again. Close to the ATV trail and many amenities within walking distance or a short drive.

Little caring could go a long way, But I guess not
Unfortunately I was not able to stay at the hotel. This was due to an event that we were going to attend today was cancelled last minute due to inclement weather. (a Ski race at Sugarloaf Mountain ski resort). When I called to let them know I couldn't come the front desk person rudely said "well you know there is no refunds". I said yes I was aware but could they make an exception due to the inclement weather and the race being cancelled. They said no. I will not make a reservation at this location ever again

Horrible motel. Room was dirty with disgusting rug, smelled, and bathroom was old and tile was crumbling. There were long term tenants in other rooms who smoked outside my room. Cars/trucks were coming & going, visiting long term rooms for short visits. Was not a safe environment. I will never stay there again. Disappointed with Expedia, have lost alot of faith & trust with Expedia. Wonder if any representative of Expedia has ever been to this dump of a motel.

Paul, I understand that you had a hard time at the motel. Although, I cannot tell other guests that cannot have company at the motel. You are correct we do have some long term guests, just as all the other motels in this area as well. If there was an issue with a guest smoking I would have notified the front desk and we could have taken are of it for you. We also have workers here from other states. I can assure you that you were very safe at our motel. We would welcome Expedia to visit our location at any time. Our staff work very hard to ensure that every room is clean for our guests. I heard no complaints of the room being dirty. I am sorry you didn't have a great stay.

William, As I stated this morning when I spoke to you I am very sorry. We have a brand new heating system and have called the installer to repair whatever is needed. I will be refunding your nights stay. We are just coming off of our very busy season and this is the first time that the heat has been turned on. We had the heat pump on the wall that we usually use for air conditioning that could have also been used for heat. We have tried the unit and it worked just fine. I am sorry about your stay and hope that you give us another chance to make your stay enjoyable.

Hello, I have really had to stop and think about how I would respond to this review, as I am very upset. I have worked for this company for 7 years and in that time we have never been racist! I find it very unusual that you could say that about our motel. We have African American, Panamanian, Phillipino, and causasian employees amongst our staff. We welcome everyone here regardless of their race. I have tried to search for a reservation for you and cannot come up with anything. I am thinking that you are reviewing the wrong motel. This is very upsetting as we know the other motels in town are also not racist. If you had an issue with a motel I would have to advise you to speak to a manager. I am the manager and never would tolerate racism within my staff or guests!! I also have not received a complaint. Please make sure that you are reviewing the right motel when you are making such a claim.
