Clean room with a comfortable bed in a nice area. 5 min walk west to the gondola taking you up to The best skiing. 5 min walk east to local grocery and the downtown with nice views of the Matterhorn. Convenient storage room on basement for skis and equipment. Great breakfast in the am and staff was helpful with ski reports on different lifts. Great bang for your buck, highly recommend.

If you plan to ski in Zermatt, Adonis has an ideal location. It is about 7-8 minutes by foot, carrying skis to a ski lift that takes you to Furi where you can transfer to any side of the mountain. Adonis is also very close to several great restaurants, and the City center is just a few minutes away. It is affordable, and the staff is very friendly and helpful; the hotel also has a few useful amenities, e.g., a washer and dryer, a kitchen, and a nice bar area. My rooms had plenty of space for two, and I could even see the tip of Matterhorn from my balcony. Everything in the hotel is super clean and well taken care of. The breakfast was also great, with tons of options to eat, e.g., omelets, sausages, cold cuts, muesli, pancakes, etc.

Great location, 10 minutes walking distance to Zermatt station and the center, especially if you are light with 1 carry on. Even though the taxi is affordable with 12 to 15 CHF. Spent 3 nights, little pricey, yet more affordable than the surrounding hotels. Nice staff. We were late for check in since the receptionist would leave at 8 pm, but she waited to give us the key. The room had refrige, hair dryer, but no electrical water-tea pot. In the morning we asked for it and gave us one and kept it until the last day, which was so nice🌹

The hotel was fine, but we had the most awkward check-in that we have had in our 14 month European road trip. When we checked in we asked the receptionist Rita, what would be the best way to see the main attraction in Zermatt, the Matterhorn, and she literally said she didn’t understand why people would come there just to see a mountain! After my husband and I looked at each other, we found ourselves in a semi debate with her about why the Matterhorn is important to come see. We sited the example of”it’s like going to Rome and not seeing the Coliseum”. Rita said “that’s different, the coliseum is a building that you can go into.” After several more minutes of crazy conversation, we just gave up and asked, well if we want to see the Matterhorn tomorrow, what would we need.She finally gave us some options. As we were leaving to go up to our room, we asked her about restaurant options and she was very vague. Only said there are a lot of good restaurants but make sure they take credit cards. After we ate, we came back to hotel and told her we had a good meal. We told her where we ate and she said that was a great restaurant in fact her aunt works there!! I don’t know why she didn’t suggest this when we asked?! That night, the fire alarm went off in the hotel and we all had to go downstairs for about 30 minutes. It took them that long to get someone there to turn off the alarm. The next day Rita wasn’t at reception and the lady was very nice and helpful. We saw the Matterhorn 👍

The hotel is very small but cute and felt modern except for the carpet. The negative of this place was a carpeted room from bathroom and the carpet looked gross with brown stains on it. Unfortunately this had us feeling/questioning the overall cleanliness but the remainder of the unit was quite clean.

This was a great spot to stay in Zermatt! The hotel staff were all very helpful and friendly. The hotel is located near the main part of the city, about a 3 minute walk. It’s nice and quiet, and the rooms are very comfortable.

Very nice traditional style chalet small hotel, 15 min walk from the train station and shopping areas. 12 chf electric taxi ride as it’s a bit of a climb. Elevator and private washroom. Optional breakfast was very good, the room was a little small but this did not bother us.we had a wonderful stay in lovely Zermatt and would very happily stay at Adonis again

The hotel is far from station , need to walk at least 12 minutes , if u have heavy luggage , pls think about that . So the price is relatively cheap . The breakfast is decent, staff are nice, kettle on ground floor for sharing. The room is a bit small.

Highly recommended.... The location is great, quite near to Zermatt Station. Excellent staff service. Breakfast is also superb. Have a very nice view from the room. We’ve only stayed for a night but we really had a nice stay. I will definitely be back next time.

Where's the manager?
Tried to check out in the morning at 07:30 but no manager was at the desk. Kitchen staff said someone should show up in five minutes. Never happened. Waited until 07:45 and then had to leave and catch the train. Evening manager should have warned us if no one would be available the next morning. Never got to approve our bill before departure. Also, street was closed for construction and Google maps took us a long way around to get to hotel. Would have been nice if hotel had sent us a warning via email for the alternate, and shorter route. We hauled two suitcases up long steps, which was unnecessary if they would have informed us.

Location was convenient; breakfast was very nice; staff was great. We would have appreciated more specific information concerning the means of travel to get to the hotel. We did not know that the hotel had an electric vehicle that could transfer us to the hotel. And what we read was that limousines & taxis were allowed in town, but it should have been specified that only Swiss carriers were allowed.

Fantastic Swiss hotel with a perfect location
Adonis is a lovely Swiss hotel in a great location. It is easy access from the train and a short walk to the hiking trails. The staff is very friendly and accommodating, and they know a lot about the area and give great advice for tourism and activities. The hotel was very clean and our room had a beautiful balcony with a view. The bathrooms were updated and new with nice toiletries and bath towels. The bed linens in this hotel are great. Overall a great stay in zermatt, I would recommend to any traveler to stay in hotel Adonis for charming accommodations and a perfect location

We liked the quietness. It is on the South side of Zermatt,a bit out of the center. On the other hand, it takes 10-15 min to walk from the train station which is on the other side of Zermatt. You can pay for a shuttle instead if you prefer.
