Great place. Probably not the most expensive on the resort so pleasantly surprised to find toiletries laid out. I guess our unit hadn't been used for a while as there was air the water pipes to the sink and brown water came out initially. It was okay after running it a while and it stayed clean thereafter. The flies are the worst thing about the resort. There are nets you can by at the shops to put over your head. I am led to believe we went at the worst time of year for them and also they were getting more than normal this year!!! However, the flies stayed outside and didn't come into the apartments. So overall, quite good.

Arrival was a bit confusing. Rooms were not ready until 3pm. Luggage could be left but we were advised to go into the centre of the resort. Obviously most people had flown in from cooler places and were not dressed or prepared for the extreme heat, I.e. sun hats, sun lotion, and other necessities were packed away in the suitcase.
However the room was comfortable and spacious.
Having got up at 3.30 for a sun rise trip, and occupied myself until about 14.30, I would have appreciated my room being cleaned during this time. But no, the cleaners arrived at 3pm and asked if I wanted it cleaned. In the end it was easier not to bother. Most hotels clean the rooms in the morning and this is preferable.
There was a traditional restaurant which I didn’t use, but I did like the casual eating area. Masses of large bench style tables, could be used if you were buying from the bar, burger type place or the bar be cue area. Ideal for a quick meal at the end of a long hot day.
We really enjoyed the Outback Pioneer Hotel. It was clean and the rooms were very nice. There are cooking facilities available. The room has a frig, tv, wifi - everything you could need. The front desk staff seemed a little overwhelmed occasionally but answered any questions we had. We had a standard hotel room - with 2 beds. They do also have 'backpacker' accommodations - bunk beds - but we did not try those rooms. I think this is a very good hotel.
Only good thing is it's proximity to beautiful Minds Canyon

Liked: Staff & service, room comfort
I liked the property, the room needs to be clean better there was dust on the carpet and the toilet and bathtub had stains. I liked that they let you use the kitchen if you want to cook, the food is expensive. Uluru is very close to the resort and we watched the sunset from the various points in the resort. It was beautiful.
For being in the outback it was a lovely stay and comfortable to come back to after such a long day. Only issue was whenever you used the taps a weird smell emerged but I am assuming it is due to being on a tank and septic system - so totally okay with that and understand that!
Great stay, would highly recommend!

The hotel was convenient for both backpack and couples. There are other hotels that are twice the price however for a one or two day layover this facility was great.
