This place is very nice. The owner, Alex, does a wonderful job. He prepares great food for breakfast. He is very personable. The only suggestion is to remodel the bathroom to put in a larger and higher sink.

This century-old house makes a perfect B&B. It's conveniently located close to the historic area of Williamsburg, with free off-street parking. The rooms are beautifully decorated and comfortable. The owners/hosts are gracious and accommodating. Breakfasts are home-cooked and delicious. Bear in mind that this is a B&B, not a hotel. While there is free wifi, there are no televisions in individual rooms. (Although there is a tv in the large living room.) The bathroom in our room was small, with a shower and not a tub. There is no elevator. These characteristics are typical of many such establishments, and do not detract from the experience of staying there. I highly recommend the Cedars of Williamsburg.

Charming property, wonderful host/hospitality and delicious breakfast. The room I stayed in (William Lee) was small/basic, but had a comfortable bed. Convenient location (walkable to CW or the W&M campus) with easy parking. Would definitely stay here again.

Great value. Alex and Leroy are awesome hosts. The house is really nice and clean. Breakfast was yummy. Ample parking and easy walk to Colonial Williamsburg. Highly recommend.

Highly welcoming.
Alex is the most outgoing & accomodating host I ever saw. He carried our 100 lbs. plus or luggage up to the third floor in one trip. We stayed in the Patrick Henry room. Very clean. We thoroughly enjoyed the period ambiance in the decor and furnishings. The Cedars is easily accessed off a main road with ample parking in the back. Easy drive to Colonial Williamsburg.

The Cedars of Williamsburg is ideally located within a 12 minute walk to Colonial Williamsburg area and Merchant's Square, as well as multiple excellent restaurants in the William and Mary campus area. The rooms were clean, though could have been improved by vacuuming daily when the staff came in to restock towels and make the bed. The bathroom in our King William room was quite small, though this was the space constraint of an older house with a lot of beauty and character otherwise. The staff was cordial, helpful, and in general, excellent as well. Breakfasts were delicious every day, and showed good variety. We were in town for several days for a wedding and some sight-seeing. In all, this bed and breakfast was a very good choice for our stay.

Awesome! Thanks, Timothy. Glad y'all had a goodly stay. Viz. vacuuming: thanks for the heads up on that. We try to re-vacuum every room for stay overs - especially if we see something egregious - but sometimes guests will be over during our cleaning time, or there may be too much stuff on the floor, etc.. Obviously that's okay! They are rooms and they're being used so I'm sorry that you felt the floors weren't to that high standard.

The Cedars of Williamsburg, an excellent B&B
We were greeted upon arrival by Ms. Ried (sp) who showed us to our room and gave us a quick tour of the inn. She also gave us the general instructions concerning safety and security, thanked us for coming, and hoped we had a wonderful stay (we did.) The owner, Alex, met us the next morning at breakfast, and at each breakfast after. He was very friendly, also very helpful with advice on touring the Williamsburg area. The room was excellent, accommodations great, and the atmosphere was perfect. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit!

The buildings and rooms are charming, with ambience perfectly suited to colonial Williamsburg. Our hosts Alex and Tara were helpful and made us feel quite at home. The breakfasts were well-prepared and quite tasty. The parlor and dining room were comfortable and inviting, great places to meet and gather with other guests. The Cedars is a short walk to the restaurants and stores of Merchants Square. Our stay was short but perfect for our tours of Colonial Williamsburg and the Historic Triangle.

I wholeheartedly recommend the Cedars to travelers. A wonderful B&B with loads of charm located right across the street from William & Mary University and within walking distance to Williamsburg Market Place and public transportation. The breakfasts were wonderful. Our bedroom and bathroom were very clean. The bathroom sink was in a very narrow space, but it was certainly not an issue for my wife and me. It was a nice place to land at the end of the day after taking in all the wonderful nearby historical spots. We will certainly be back!

Perfect location for W&M
This is located right across the street from William and Mary campus, with easy, free parking. Room was lovely, comfortable and they have snacks and coffee/tea service available 24 hours.

Convenient but cold
Beautiful bed and breakfast that was not heated enough. The breakfasts were solid but the dining area was crammed and crowded. Breakfast is only 8-9, which is restrictive compared to most bed and breakfasts.

Thanks for the review Richard.Let me help with a few misunderstandings.Breakfast's main hours are 8-9 but they are not restrictive to that time. When guests need breakfasts earlier we are happy to oblige, it just may be more limited fare. The same goes for breakfast after 9. We are more than happy to serve breakfast at 9:30 or even 10.You mentioned the breakfast room being crammed: well, we were busy! There just isn't much I can do about a smaller room but again: we have let guests have breakfasts in their rooms, in the parlor, or even in our gazebo. We're happy to accommodate. As far as heating: we do have HVAC systems for each room as well as additional blankets in the main hallway for any guests to get them. That it was cold outside: I wish I could control the weather better but alas.Thank you for a more positive review than not but I wanted to make sure there was no confusion for future guests looking to book.
