As seniors we found it a difficult climb to our rooms on the second floor. Apart from that all was good.

I enjoyed my stay at the Royal Oak Welshpool. Rooms were lovely and clean. Staff are very helpful and friendly. Nice dining area to have lunch or evening meal. The breakfast I had included in the price was very tasty. Would deffinately visit again.

Great Hotel but....
Room was amazing, no faults. Staff friendly and check in had no issues. Food was lovely and good portion sizes. However zero sleep. Sound proofing was poor, traffic noise. We had a long drive the next day and needed an early night. There was excessively loud music thumping for hours which completely spoiled the stay. We were not warned the function was being held and it intruded on our stay. A pity.

Very enjoyable stay
Lovely old coaching inn with old school charm. Our room was beautifully decorated and the bed and linen was very comfortable. Breakfast was delicious. Central location in Welshpool was perfect for visit to Powis Castle.

The sink in the bathroom needed to be deeper and it drained very slowly . The staff were all very cheerful and friendly and overall we had a very enjoyable stay.

Business trip to Welshpool
I have been visiting Welshpool for business for many years and the Royal Oak is my preferred base. It's a lovely hotel and the staff are always friendly and welcoming. The rooms are well-appointed but some can suffer from traffic noise. However to be fair there's not much the hotel can do about that. The bar and restaurant are excellent, there's space to work while having a drink and good wi-fi. All that I need. Recommended.

we didnt get E/meal as we were hopeing for we orderd the pipe meal but got cottage pipe it was a lot of money for a cottage pipe with a only a F/Greens we did not say enything at the time becouse we are not like that . LOVEly hotet & STAFF THANK YOU

Great hotel above a lively pub
Free parking next to the hotel in the middle of the town, nice clean & comfy room, good shower and bathtub. Had a tasty evening meal and breakfast downstairs and all of the staff were super polite & helpful. Really enjoyed my stay and if I'm ever in Welshpool again I'll stay here!

Nicely located for walking, bus or car
Two night stay in a superior twin. Clean and comfortable room on 1st floor. Ate in the restaurant one night and food was excellent. Breakfast was a choice of cooked or continental. on site parking acessed by barrier with code needed to exit. Enjoyed our stay and would return.

The staff were lovely; professional, yet friendly. Room 214 has VERY uneven flooring…unexpected rises and dips…a bit odd to maneuver around. Hot water always was slow to arrive. Spoke with staff about it. Running the shower for 10 minutes to get hot water seemed so wasteful, but I come from a drought plagued part of the world. My final morning, when I’ll be leaving and traveling for 12 hours, there was NO hot water. I ran the water for 45 minutes before I left without showering. The night staff apologized yet I stunk the entire day. No bueno. The bar and dining were fine. No great shakes.

We are quite discerning travellers and can only offer positives about this hotel! There is nothing at all we can point to that requires improvement. The staff were great, so very friendly & helpful. The hotel itself is a lovely old coaching inn and the bedrooms are fitted out to a really good standard... everything is of a good quality from the mattress and bed linens to the curtains & towels. The H2K products supplied are just lush .. we now need to buy some after sampling them here!!

Clean, modern, comfortable and quiet with tea / coffee making and biscuits in my room. Very friendly staff. Wifi was generally good. Good selection at breakfast. I ate here twice in the evening, both times delicious.

Great May bank holiday break
Great stay at the Royal Oak very friendly staff nice room and comfortable bed. Only issue we had was the room was very warm so needed windows open consequently we were woken several times in night by noise from pub/nightclub up the road, late night revellers and traffic. Loved the area visited Snailbeach Lead Mine which was fascinating and also walked to Powis Castle.
