We were on an overnight business trip. The hotel is convenient to our meetings. Reception was always busy. Did not receive any VIP benefits. Maybe the check in person was too busy dealing with multiple queries from travellers. Hotel is a bit dated, but comfortable and value for money. Breakfast was good.

Clean room. Nice staff. The absolute worst parking garage I have ever used. Exceedingly narrow - and we had a small vehicle - parking spots. Each turn around a corner required multiple attempts of turning wheel and reversing, driving forward, turning wheel again, reversing again, and so on.

Oaks hotel is based in a convenient location, easy walking to wharf/marina area and shopping. Only thing I could say negative is the mirrors in the bathroom are for 6 foot people.

Great staff that helped out but not a family room friendly resort. Couldn't lock the double room doors when you have young kids and hallway light couldn't turn off. Needs to update facilities in the rooms for families.

Our room was extremely comfortable and the staff was always ready and willing to help with any questions we had. It was a great place to come back to every day after hours of walking around. We didn't make much use of the balcony due to high winds but that isn't the fault of the property! Thank you for a wonderful stay.

Was a great stay as usual. Interior room had no lights but made getting to bed early easy. Carparking is a tight squeeze for a Toyota Aqua but not impossible.

When making a reservation be sure to book a parking space in their garage. When we arrived, they didn’t have any spaces left for our midsize SUV, and we had to park in a public car park that was very tight and almost full.

Have stayed many times in the past this was our first time in an internal room. Bathroom was larger than previous rooms however still frosted glass. Being an internal room was very strange you had no idea what the weather was like outside. You could also clearly hear the lifts each time they were used thankfully this was minimal at night so didn’t impact sleep too much. Room could do with some TLC frosting on bathroom door peeling, wall under TV was marked as well as in the TV itself, the TV was also crooked. Reception was very busy when checking in and out so assume this is why there was no acknowledgement as a returning guest.

This location is very good in terms of walk ability to waterfront and shops, but there are a number of homeless people in the general area. However, we did not feel threatened by that in any way. The room was clean, and comfortable. The parking was a stressful experience because it is very tight when turning up and down the ramps, but we managed. The breakfast buffet was top notch and the staff at reception were extremely accommodating. I recommend this place.

The location of this hotel is great. Close to restaurants, cafes, shopping, waterfront and so much more The staff were friendly and helpful. Onsite parking was an issue. Its really good for small vehicles.

A very convenient city location with 24 hour reception making it easy for arrivals and departures at all times, Airport Express bus stop across the road also helpful

This hotel is in walking distance to everything, so brilliant for that. The bed and pillows were so comfy. I didn’t like the glass walls of the bathroom and the door did not shut properly. The car park is very, very tight, if you had a big car I think you would struggle. Overall the hotel is very nice.

We were not advised when we booked that a) the bar shut at 10pm on Sunday and Monday and b) the restaurant was closed for lunch and dinner on Sunday and ALL DAY MONDAY!! This is not how we expect to be treated, when hotel guests. A complete disregard of customer service

First told us their carpark was full after their advertisement says “parking available” Air con didn’t work in our room had to move rooms at 9.30pm, were offered 2x complimentary buffet breakfasts for our two night stay for the inconvenience only for the breakfast buffet to be closed next morning and instead being given stale pastry’s and fruit. Has the potential to be a great hotel but these things were such a let down

Great room with comfy beds and at the heart of Wellington. Friendly staff. There is secure parking at an extra charge. It is a bit tight and only small to medium sized vehicles can easily fit in.

Great location and quality hotel
The location and hotel itself are perfect for getting around and general exploring. The rooms were very spacious and comfortable and the beds were very comfortable. My only complaint was that we were put in a room internally in the building so there was natural sunlight. Giving me and partner a bit of a disorienting feeling of what time of day was it. We were also next to the lift which was loud during the night. Overall great hotel if you have issues with artificial light I’d suggest to ask for a room with a window.
