Short but pleasant

Posted 16-Jul-2015
Mine was a very short stay, one night, so my experience was brief. However, I can attest that the rooms are spacious and very nicely appointed, as well as comfortable. Given the location, in a row of apartments somewhat isolated from nearby eating opportunities, I might have liked a little more choice in the restaurant/bar, which seemed both pricey and limited, but I was also pressed for time to go exploring elsewhere. At times, the elevators seemed a little slow. But the staff is wonderful and very helpful and friendly, always a big plus.

TLC

Hotel needs some tender loving care. I wouldn't call it dated, but the hotel is worn and tired. The staff was wonderful, however the owners need to invest more money into maintenance and upkeep.

Quiet hotel with excellent rates.

Posted 2-Jul-2015
Pros: Spacious and quiet rooms. Walking distance (.5 to 1.5 miles) to nice restaurants and capital attractions like the White House.
Cons: Restaurant could be larger with more practical seating. Lobby could be updated.
I arrived at the hotel early in the morning, and their internet was down. I had a pleasant buffet breakfast in their small restaurant and waited. After about 90 minutes, the internet was still down. The staff at the front desk was cordial, informative, and accommodating. Since they had some rooms cleaned, they used a master key to allow me to enter the room early. Both the lobby and restaurant are relatively small with outdated style, but generally comfortable. The room was spacious, comfortable, and quiet.

Misleading advertising

Posted 14-Jun-2015
Staff was nice, especially in the bar/restaurant. The hotel was stuffy and rooms were mediocre. The amenities mentioned in the advertising and website are misleading and our requests were not remedied. The food was below average and minimal choices. Will not stay at this hotel or one in this chain again.

Pleasant stay

Posted 8-Jun-2015
The location is quiet, a bit off the beaten path, but within walking distance to a number of good restaurants and bars. The room was spacious and well appointed. Nice happy hour. My one reservation is with the hotel restaurant/bar. Quite a limited dinner selection. Also, on a Saturday night they held a private party there which precluded access from the hotel guests. Public hotels should be about their guests, not catering to some other group to the exclusion of those staying there.

Pros: Comfortable bed, umbrella- ended up a must ! , big comfortable room, clean, QUIET, convenient , great staff!!
Cons: Chairs not comfortable. My only complaint.
Absolutely perfect! It was my son's graduation weekend from Johns Hopkins and it was so convenient to Georgetown where he lives and to the Graduation at DAR Convention Hall. Staff was helpful with directions and cab service. Great coffee!

Pros: See above
Great location. Only a 20 min walk from the metro. Very friendly and helpful staff. Room was clean and ok setup. Appears to be a room that can be changed to a conference room which resulted in an awkward setup. Bed was not that comfortable. Overall 4 stars

Huge room!

Posted 4-May-2015
Pros: Huge size of room and bathroom. Huge windows.
Location: Close to Du Pont Circle.
I've never stayed in such a big hotel room! A wonderful boutique hotel with quite the retro charm. Very clean rooms and responsive staff (I called down to get a shower cap and it arrived in under 5 minutes). Some rooms are pet friendly. If I had to list any negatives, it would be that it's not too close to a Metro station (about a 10 minute walk), and that there was more road noise at night than I was expecting, especially for the street it is on, which doesn't have heavy traffic.
