Weekend in DC

Posted 27-Mar-2015
The hotel is in a nice and quiet location, 15min walk from the White House, 30 from 7th street. Everyone was friendly and professional and the room was comfortable. The bathroom was really tiny, though.

Clean, friendly, spacious, comfy beds. The service was very efficient and the staff upbeat and friendly. I would not hesitate to stay here again.

Good location but room could use an update

Posted 18-Mar-2015
Pros: Design, wine happy hour, my son's chance to take a toy from the front desk toy chest
Cons: Room 904 could use an update--lots of scuffs and nicks
Location: Great location near Dupont Circle, plenty of good restaurants within walking distance, close to metro
My family of three stayed for four nights at Hotel Rouge. The location is excellent. There are nice design touches, but our room was fairly beaten up--scuff marks, nicked furniture, etc. Kimpton has done a nice enough job of turning an old apartment building into a hotel, but it didn't feel as special as other Kimpton properties. I'm a Kimpton Karma rewards program member, so I got free wifi while there--but the hotel would not honor its "raid the minibar" program since I booked through Expedia (lame, if you ask me). The nightly wine happy hour was pleasant--decent wine and as much as you could drink and sweet potato tater tots. The staff was friendly but not overly so. For the price, I'll probably stay elsewhere on my next visit to DC.

Hotel rogue is a great hotel. I really enjoyed my stay. The staff is very helpful and informative. Checking in was simple and quick. As far as parking goes there is not a lot and hard to find. Overnight valet is $50 and day parking is $25. The hotel itself is very clean, the hallways smell like cleaning products, which is a good sign. The rooms are very spacious and the beds are very comfortable. The food is great as well, pricey but worth it. As far as touring and attractions your within walking distance of food and things to do except most museums. Overall I really enjoyed my stay. I would recommend hotel rouge to anyone.

Quirky Decor, Pleasant Hotel

Posted 13-Mar-2015
Good location within easy walking distance of Dupont Circle. The rooms are spacious and clean. The decor is a bit garish for my taste: Hotel Rouge takes its name seriously with lots of red all over and tiger striped carpets.

The dining room is awkward -- hard to seat 4 people - tough to have meetings there.

Great Stay

Posted 9-Mar-2015
The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is that it took a really long time for them to bring our bags up to the room. Had to ask several times and it still took over an hour. Otherwise, great wine hour, service and room.

A Short Night at Hotel Rouge

Posted 3-Mar-2015
Pros: I think I got a reasonable price for a hotel in very expensive Washington.
Cons: Nothing about the hotel. Washington DC is a very confusing city to navigate -- on foot or by car. Which caused me to wander around a bit.
Location: I was attending a program at the Convention Center. It was a mile away. Usually a decent walk -- but in the ice storm we had -- not so much.
I arrived pretty late in the evening and left EARLY in the morning, so I can't evaluate every corner of the hotel. But my room was comfortable and unusually stylish.
