As a single older woman traveling alone I expect a certain lack of attention, slower service and a tendency to have my request or concerns ignored or lower in proiority. This hotel certainly exceeded all other properties I have stayed at while traveling on this expectation. From the bartender (with man bun) to front desk staff I was ignored or given short inconsequential answers.
The room was constantly cold and the thermostat could not be turned above 74 F, no closet, drawers or rack to set luggage on to unpack, 2 inch space at bottom of entrace door that allowed in every noise from hallway, paper thin wall so all night the TV noise from both room kept me awake and the people above me moving furniture around all night was exhausting. I left a day early so I could check into another hotel and get some rest. The Valet parking was excellent, there are many dining options close by, it is about a 2 mile round trip walk to National Mall. Froggy Bottoms reataurant and bar is about 4 blocks away has great food and very attentive and courteous staff.
For some reason the bartender took cash payment for the one drink I manage to receive but never I never a check or change back.
Really a depressing and sad situation.
Think I will stick to the Hyatt properties instead of Marriott.
