Awesome spot
Great location and accomodation. Really appreciated the comprehensive amenities, made the stay much easier to prepare for and made for a great stay. Wonderful views. As others have said, while you park at and walk past the residents house, once in the cottage it is very private. We saw the host once, which was a gidday as the walked past in the beautiful gardens below. Highly recommend.

Fabulous 8-day stay from all accounts
Margie was extremely helpful from booking our NZ trip to welcoming us to Barefoot Cottage. Everything was great, from the view to the accommodation to the graciousness as our hosts. We had a fabulous time. This is such a great property in a great spot.

Paradise
We stayed at Barfoot Cottage for 6 nights - it was so stunning - accommodation, weather, views and location, it was so hard to leave. Margie and Gary are very discreet but very friendly hosts. The immaculate Cottage was so comfortable with every whim catered for and we thank you both for making our holiday so special. We will be back!

Wonderful views at Waipu Cove
Fabulous cottage for two with everything you could need plus a few extra special touches ... loved the little jar of jet planes! Fantasic views from the deck, walk to the beach, restaurants, shops and markets only 5-10 minutes away by car. Thanks for a very relaxing and enjoyable weekend.

Deserves more than a 5-star rating!
My partner and I had the most amazing two nights stay here. Everything had been thought of, and the attention to detail was amazing. The location is unbeatable, with a 2 minute walk down to the beach. It feels very private and quiet, which made it even more peaceful.

Anniversary getaway
This was an absolute gem of a place! The cottage was clean, light, beautiful decor and had just everything you needed. The views are spectacular no matter the weather. We experienced the typical 4 seasons in a day and it was still amazing. The deck had a fantastic spot to have a meal or too (and we did) and comfortable seating to sit tucked up with coffee & a book or just take in the sights. As well as looking out to sea the garden was gorgeous. It was a very short walk down to a popular eating spot. Highly recommend this place, the only negative is that we had to leave and go back to reality!!! Can’t wait to stay here again 💙

Breath taking views
What an absolute pleasure it was to stay in this cozy cottage. It comes with all the essentials. The heater warmed up nicely as the cooler evenings approached, and the view from every angle was stunning! The hosts have a beautiful location, and it is highly recommended if you have the opportunity to stay in Waipu. Note: The cottage is situated alongside the hosts property, however, do not let this discourage you from staying. Your privacy is completely respected and the cottage is designed in such a way that the main house is located no different to any of the other neighbouring properties. We will be back. AA++

The cottage was clean and comfortable with a gorgeous outlook. The only thing I would recommend is that the listing mention the fact that the property is up the side of the owners main house. It is quite private but I think it’s important to note.

Barefoot cottage is comfortable well appointed and a very pleasant place to relax and enjoy the peace and beauty of Waipu Cove from a perch that takes in wide views of Bream Bay Margie is a perfect host and we loved our time there and hope to return.

What a magical spot. The owners have put so much care, attention and thought into transforming the cottage into the perfect hideaway. It's a gem and I would definitely come back again (hopefully with better weather). That said, even on a rainy day, the outlook, the magazines / games etc provided make it a great place to curl up with a book.

Gorgeous Cottage - great view
The cottage is small but perfectly formed and beautifully put together. The views over Waipu Cove and out to sea are gorgeous! The owner had left the heater on so when we arrived it was lovely and cosy. An easy walk down to the beach, store and restaurant meant we barely needed our car.
