Young Island Resort is a beautiful spot and a real haven. We loved our 2 night stay there although sadly our last night we were kept awake by music on St Vincent directly adjacent.

Incredible unique island resort with lots of character. The area is super safe and all of the islands restaurants are just a 30 second ferry ride away. The staff was excellent and you can’t beat the views and nature at young island.

The property has a good location and helped with excursions. There were a few things like a free ferry to Kingstown in their web info that does not exist. Overall, a very good resort.

We do state that "From our ferry dock, enjoy a five-minute ride across just 200 yards of clear waters." This 5-minute ride is the ride which you took from our mainland dock on St. Vincent over to Young Island and of course, this is complimentary to our guests on a 24-hour basis. However, in the history of our country, there has never been a ferry service from Young Island to Kingstown. Is there some other section which you read that led you to believe that somehow there was a ferry from Young Island to Kingstown? We would be happy to correct anything that appears misleading about our ferry service as this was not intentional on our part. Please feel free to reach out. Water taxi to island was prompt. Our room was one half of a duplex cottage - listed as Superior - quite private. Great outdoor shower. Food was amazing, at all meals. Good beach good pool. Need more chaises at beach. Spa massages were great. Walked around Island, hilly and good exercise. Fort D was closed due to rockfalls. Staff were very attentive. We loved our room. We would go back in a heartbeat.

We stayed for 3 days, Oct 26 until Oct 29 and thoroughly enjoyed the room, the view and the staff. It was very near St Vincent with its activities which included the Dive St Vincent shop. The food was excellent.

Lovely property and staff. The rooms are beautiful and comfortable. Would have preferred a La carte dining options but plenty of other dining options nearby. Water sports equipment needs to be updated.

Nice, but dated, resort on small private island. Staff is excellent, food is pretty good, amenities are good. Very quiet on the island. Nice grounds to walk around and explore. Can also get day passes to island or just dining reservations.

This resort is special. We went for a few days during our honeymoon. The staff was lovely, it was quiet, the pool was perfect. We will definitely be back. Lots to do off island too if you want to explore. Food and drinks were great.

We were only here for one night, but it was a really depressing experience. The place itself is ok, not terrible but definitely nothing special by the standards of good Caribbean hotels. We arrived tired after a long day’s travelling. It took a ridiculously long time to check in – we had to fill out a long form with all the information we had already submitted online, and then sit and wait while the receptionist typed it all again into a computer. Eventually we were shown to our room. We then waited for AN HOUR AND A HALF for our bags to be brought to the room – a five minute journey in a hotel that was very far from busy. We phoned four times to ask what had happened to them, and each time we were told that they were coming immediately. We weren’t allowed to go to the restaurant, because of COVID quarantine, so they brought some really expensive food (which was actually very nice) to our room – served in styrofoam containers with plastic knives and forks, like a cheap takeaway. I know we were in quarantine, but I also know that this wasn’t necessary. The hotel we moved to the next day (The Liming – heavenly) brought our food on proper plates with proper cutlery. Not a place we ever want to return to.

Dear Mr. Caplin, Thank you for providing feedback on your stay at Young Island and I am truly sorry that your short stay was not up to your expectations. Firstly, I apologise profusely for the delay in getting the luggage to your cottage. This was not acceptable nor is it the norm, therefore this was most unfortunate and I have investigated the matter and put measures in place to ensure that this will not be repeated. When you made your reservation online, the only information which you provided to us was your e-mail address and your telephone number, hence the reason why on arrival, you were asked to fill out our registration form with your address and signature, for our records. We are in the habit of entering this information into our system electronically, after physically accompanying guests to their cottages, however; while waiting for the sudden shower of rain to subside, the receptionist used that time to key in the information. I can only imagine that after a long day of travel with added health procedures, that you were eager to get to your cottage and that is understandable. We actually experienced very good occupancy on the weekend, but of course, you would not have been aware, because our other guests were in quarantine and their dinners were being delivered to them in their various cottages throughout the island shortly after you arrived. The COVID-19 pandemic has necessitated certain operational changes and following formal training geared towards keeping staff and guests in our industry safe, we reluctantly resorted to delivering meals to our quarantine guests in biodegradable food containers. This is most certainly not our style, and we would have preferred not to have resorted to this. We did inform you of this via e-mail in December following your booking. Further, please be assured that it was only because you were in government mandated quarantine with a court order (as all arriving travelers are), that you were asked to return to your room for foodservice delivery there after you showed up at the dining room for dinner. Had you not been in quarantine, we would have been more than happy to have served you using our china and stainless steel cutlery in our dining room and with the lovely ambience. I do hope that you enjoy the remainder of your stay in St. Vincent and the Grenadines. Regards, Bianca Porter General Manager

Will stay here anytime I visit St. Vincent.
We loved Young Island Resort! It’s so charming and reminiscent of a simpler time. Like the fictional Catskills Resort from Dirty Dancing, mixed with Swiss Family Robinson, and a little Willy Wonka! The Island is beautifully landscaped and the cottage was untouched by time. Louvered wooden shutters surround the entire room to make it completely open air, but are screened to prevent pests! It’s very romantic, and the staff are wonderful, especially Kendra in the main office. She helped arrange transportation to and from for us several times, and ensured we felt Vincentian by greeting us at the dock with Rum Punches! The dinner was beautiful, set upon white table clothes, four courses with, six locally made breads to choose from and a background of a Catamaran packed canal between Young Island and Villa, Saint Vincent. Some less agile visitors may find flaw with the amount of stairs to climb for some cottages, but we loved the views up top and the staff carried our bags up for us. WIFI does not work too far from the common areas, but this was also no issue for us, because the Grenadines should be enjoyed presently and screen time can wait. The pool was warm, and inviting. There is a tennis court with racquets for loan, a day time swim up bar and a full service bar. Outdoor shower, and US electrical outlets at the cottage, and a very good breakfast as well. You can’t go wrong with a stay at Young Island. It’s not a Four Seasons, but definitely is a St. Vincent treasure.

This property is a gem — you arrive via a private water taxi service to your own island resort. The beach front cottages each have a private seating area mere steps from a white sand beach. You can hear the sound of the waves and ocean as you drift off to sleep and the dining is under thatched roof huts just off the beach. Very relaxing and restorative. There is even a soa on the property. Great for a relaxing get away!

This little island resort is perfectly situated to allow easy access (via short water taxi ride) to take in the sites and sounds of St. Vincent, while at the same time, makes you feel that you are vacationing in your own private little paradise! The rooms, which are like small cottages, are clean and lovely, with beautiful views from your own private patio. The staff could not have been more welcoming or accommodating; they truly catered to your every need! The food was expertly prepared, delicious and had enough variety to please and entice across the entire week of our stay! I would highly recommend Young Island, if a quiet and restful vacation is your desire.

Incredible experience, we were fortunate enough to be upgraded to e luxury cottage with a plunge pool and the views were fantastic up on the hill. The staff were polite, attentive, warm and welcoming and always professional. We had a wonderful couples massage in the spa, it was relaxing and tranquil and just what we needed. The food for breakfast, lunch and dinner was a lovely balance between local and modern cuisine and everything was fresh and well presented, we particularly enjoyed the king fish and the Cornish game hen. Although we went at a very quite time in off-peak season the resort still felt like it had a good atmosphere and it was nice to have so much of the beach and pool to ourselves.

Memorable
The resort occupies a beautiful island off the South Coast of St Vincent (accessible by complementary boat transfer which runs smoothly). It is a very serene and memorable place, well-furnished and friendly, with a refreshing wind constantly blowing through the resort and the rooms. Fixed-menu dinners at the resort restaurant are excellent, a superb dive centre is opposite on the main island. Not all rooms have air con but when we were there in winter the room stayed reasonably cool in the breeze.

Paradise island, not so paradise
The staff didn't want to be there, the menus weren't clear on what you could have and the staff weren't interested in telling you. The room looks absolutely stunning and the view is unreal but it's all open so remember to wear heavy mosquito protection because you will get bitten to shreds everywhere and at anytime. Non hotel stayers get the boat over and are only allowed in a tiny section of the resort but they come in a huge pack and ruin the 29cottage of exclusivity massively! The shower is outside and the hot water doesn't work (at night anyway) so prepare to only have cold showers. Make sure you check your bill before leaving as our breakfast was included and they still questioned me and tried to make me pay. It's a beautiful island from a far but there is nothing to do here and I wouldn't go back again. For dinner, it's a set menu so if you're veg then I'd eat elsewhere...the only options we had were lobster, chicken or pork. I don't eat pork and my boyfriend is veg so options are very limited!

Charming old Caribbean beach resort
Stayed here two nights after a yacht charter, in hillside bungalow. Cool vibe and awesome views over water and trees. Attentive, friendly staff and appetizing food. Water ferry to and from big island is simple, fast, and efficient.

We just spent 10 days at young island resort and it was probably our best vacation to date.. Besides a few issues with LIAT , we soon forgot them and revelled in the beauty of our surroundings .. The staff makes this island resort what it is .. superb!

After our delayed arrival from Barbados, we had a warm island greeting on the jetty from the manager and bartender James with a drink in hand! We were ushered down the lit pathway the staff waiting for us all welcomed us with genuine smiles, immediately showed us to our cottage, which all ready and just simply beautiful! Dinner was waiting for us which was amazing! We knew we had arrived in Island paradise!! Every day we were greeted with outstanding hospitality and the most beautiful smiles. The staff at Young Island Resort is by far beyond excellent. They truly make your stay one you will never forget! Our cottage (#4) is worth requesting if you enjoy the beach and poolside. There is no a/c however with three walls of open air shutters (screened) and ceiling fan it was perfect. On the East side on a stone deck has 2 sunbeds & 2 chairs, very private and on the beach. You go to bed and wake each day to the sound of the surf. On the West side another stone patio with table & chairs, is steps away from the pool. Every morning starts with a full breakfast served in open air cabanas, fresh fruit & juices, delicious coffee, tasty yogurt and many choices. I suggest you try something different everyday as they are all amazing. Dinner is out of this world!

Beautiful island, your own botanical garden to explore. Climb up and over to the other side for spectacular sea views. Beach is small but very pleasant. Great snorkelling on western side for stronger swimmers. Food was excellent. Very quiet and private. Lovely pool. Deluxe suites have own outdoor pool.

Hotel has an exclusive feel

Det finns några saker man bör känna till innan man bokar detta boende. Det finns ormar på ön, och nära poolen, vi påpekade de till personalen som mest skrattade och menade på att de är ofarliga. Vi förstår så klart att ormar finns i dessa länder, men känns inte roligt att de dem så nära inpå som vid poolen. Rummen/stugorna har endast uteduschar. Rummen saknar AC och har endast takfläkt vilket gör att de både blir varmt och fuktigt. Rummen saknar riktiga fönster, enbart nät. Mitt emot hotellet finns några barer som spelar väldigt hög musik på nätterna vilket gör det omöjligt att sova då det inte finns fönster att stänga. Personalen är inte speciellt trevlig och gör inte det lilla extra för att man ska tycka om stället. Maten är ingen hit. Och den exklusiva privata känslan som de vill måla upp ute på ön får man inte, på grund av att vem som helst kan ta transfer-båten över och hänga på hotellgästernas strand. Vi kommer inte tillbaka, och kommer inte rekommendera detta boende till någon av våra bekanta.

We do try our best in our promotional literature to describe the island and what to expect in terms of the wildlife and the outdoor garden showers. Our cottages (including the cottage which you occupied) all have wooden vertical louvered windows with horizontal bars to close them. To keep mosquitoes and other insects out, we use screens on the exteriors. Of our twenty nine accommodations, twenty three of them currently have both ceiling fans and air conditioners. Had you communicated to us your need for air conditioning, we would happily have moved you to a cottage with air conditioning. This is most unfortunate. I am sorry to hear also that you did not enjoy the food, nor interacting with our staff who are known for being friendly and accommodating. Young Island Feels Old
I came back to this hotel after 20 years. I was chocked by the poor service and the state of the facilities. I can not recommend this hotel to anyone. The few other guest I talked to all had the same opinion.
