“Brillinat beds to boot”

Hotel Allegro is close to a busy four lane junction, yet inside the hotel all is quiet. Located on the distant southern edge of Vienna is not a problem as trams (across the road) and trains are regular, though it's only a 10 minutes walk into Karlsplatz and Oper. The hotel staff were friendly and helpful. The in-room (in wardrobe) safety deposit box (free) was useful. Hot water plentiful if a little slow to first flow. Beds were the best I've ever slept on.

“Superb value”

My 15th time in Wien. First stay at Allegro. 1) Excellent breakfast, 2) Room appeared to be recently renovated, was clean & twice the size of most Euro hotel rooms, 3) Tram & S-Bahn station 100' from hotel door... easy connections to U-Bahn and all of Wien, 4) Neighborhood was not upscale, but we often walked around at night and NEVER felt afraid or intimidated, 5) Mixed review for hotel personnel: Maids and b'fast people were excellent, but front desk people ranged from "distant & indifferent" to "helpful". 6) Free use of computer with internet access (in lobby) was a major plus. 7) Has feel of a small, informal hotel. Summary: The Allegro was a perfect fit for us, but for those who want an upscale neighborhood, luxury, and the amenities of a large/grand hotel, the Allegro may not be a good fit.

“As good a hotel stay as I've had anywhere”

Very satisfied with this hotel, efficiently run, quiet, good breakfast arrangements,room clean and spacious,if a little spartan. Sound-proofing really did mean you couldn't hear the traffic on the busy junction. It's some way from Vienna centre but right next to the station from which you can easily get there. But the half hour walk to the centre along a single road is by no means unpleasant.

“A Great New Year's Stay”

This is a fine hotel in a beautiful city. The rooms were clean and spacious. The staff was, without exception, friendly and efficient. The location on the outer ring of Vienna made getting into town and to outlying sites easy. We walked through neighborhoods to find fun places to eat. We visited churches and stores. We used the trams and metro to get back and forth. It was a wonderful visit. We saw the New Year's fireworks display from our hotel window. And the hotel rates were good for the value received.

“Great Staff!”

Location is out of the city center, but convenient to tram stop. Especially the remodeled rooms are very nice. My only problem was the road noise, but they gave me a better (still noisy) room. Good breakfast, too.

“Excellent Hotel!!!!”

The hotel gave us an apt. style suite good for 4 people with two bedrooms and bathrooms, kitchen, dining area, and living room for a extremely low rate. This also includes breakfast. The hotel is just across the tram station which is 15 mins. away from Westbhanhof and 5-min. from Sudbhanhof. The rooms are very clean and well kept. The staff was really nice and they even checked me in earlier than usual so I can leave my luggage in the room while I roamed around town. Very good hotel.

“Great hotel to stay”

Hotel is very clear and confortable, although it located at out shirt area from the center. With the extreme sufficient public transporataiton system, the location does bother us at all. Staff is friendly and helpful!

“Excellent hotel with convenient location and spacious room”

This is the best hotel we stayed during our two-week trip in Europe. It's reasonably priced with free wireless internet access and breakfast. It's an old big mansion with high ceiling and spacious room. Bathtub and toilet are in separate rooms. It's easy to find if you take tram #18, or #6 from train station (Westbahnhof) as it's just at the stop of Matzleinsdorfer Pl. It's also easy to go to downtown (the old town or the circle) by taking tram #1, or tram #61 at the same station. The front desk is helpful and the breakfast has plenty of choices. We strongly recommend this hotel.
