The two lady receptionists were very helpful, e.g.: asked how my room was, then fixed the problem of the air-conditioning, though it took 2 goes; quickly offering coffee as needed; helped ordering transport to the airport, coming out to where I was waiting in the next street, to say the car was stuck in traffic, then waited with me until he arrived. The balcony was pleasant but too busy sightseeing to use it.

Excellent/wonderful check-in young lady, she was just great. 19 Euro taxi ride from the airport, 30 Euro from hotel back to Airport. Great location, walk to all sites. Great A/C. Great Hot water. Very new and update room and bathroom. Very quiet location. Excellent breakfast. Excellent service. Refrigerator was worthless and never cold. Very nice private patio. Nice quality bed linens. Beautiful hotel! We stayed on the top floor room which had an amazing balcony with a view of the Three Cities. Staff was very attentive and room was clean and spacious and stylish. Very close to the Upper Barrakka Gardens. Convenient location within walking distance of all major spots in the city, but the street itself was quiet. Would definitely recommend =)

Charming and quirky. Very friendly staff. Excellent breakfast really good value. Bed exceptionally comfortable and I’m a very fussy person re beds! Minor quibble - fridge wasn’t able to keep things v cold in the heat of a Maltese summer.

Excellent hotel in great location
I had a really comfortable stay here, just felt at home. The hotel is pretty trendy, bed was super cozy and the breakfast is delicious. They provided a dressing gown and slippers, and having the nespresso machine in the room was great! They let me check in about 1-2 hours early which was very much appreciated after a 3am start. The location is excellent, around the corner from busy streets and the harbour. Under 10 mins walk to the ferry terminal to Gozo and to the bus terminal. A few doors up there is really fun live music on Fri and Sat nights at a restaurant and its 3 mins walk to Upper Barrakka gardens. Only negatives were that the safe in my room didnt work and wasn’t attended to even after asking a couple of different people to help. They replaced my towels every day which was unnecessary. Watch out for charges, I was charged for some snacks and not others and not for the water.

The staff was wonderful, they left thoughtful touches around the room after every cleaning, and were accommodating to my gluten and lactose intolerance. The breakfast was great: oats, dried fruit, freshly squeezed juice, cold cuts, eggs, sausage, toast, cake, fresh fruit... you name it. The only downside was the terrible water pressure in the shower!

Lovely and confusing
We stayed for 4 nights. We found our suite to be aesthetically gorgeous but ergonomically disappointing. There were not enough surfaces to place our personal items beside the bed or by the sink. The lighting in the living area and hall was lovely but you had to choose between having all the bright fixtures on, or none. When we arrived in the room the heat was on and there were no instructions how to operate the A/C. The instructions were wrong for the safety desposit box. The hotel literature, including online, states they have Room Service...there is no room service. Now, On the PLUS side: the beds were extremely comfortable., ALL the Staff are very kind, friendly, and eager to please, and the morning buffet breakfast is one of the best I've ever had . The location is central to all of Valletta. Remember, You must walk up about 35 shallow steps if you arrive by car. Let the hotel book a driver for you from the airport because they know how to access the area and will carry up your luggage. Tip is included, btw, and the charge will be added to your hotel bill. I would stay here again.

Fantastically comfortable bed. Spacious accommodation (we had a suite); layout a little too quirky. Wonderfully helpful staff. Breakfast could be better - plenty of choice, but cooked food not kept warm enough, and eggs always overcooked and hard, and no choice of cooking style - always fried. Steps location required some effort - especially with luggage

Family/Friends visit to Valetta, Malta
The hotel is in very central beautiful area in Valetta. The room was actually studio, with separate bedroom and launge with very big couch (where my son slept), and had balcony. It appears all the rooms are kind of mini studios with different theme. All design-furniture. My friend and her daughter stayed in the apartment in the top floor. Everything in this hotel is perfect! The service was outstanding! I would strongly recommend this hotel!

Good small hotel in downtown Valetta
In general I was quite satisfied with my stay in this hotel. I'd prefer they installed wardrobes in their rooms and provided kettles(instead of coffee making machines). But I suppose they think most of their guests don't care about that. Location is great(near major sightseeings). Several churches are also nearby(sometimes you may be awoken by their bells in the morning). Breakfast is good.. but absolutely typical for small 3-4 star boutique hotels(happily they serve some hot dishes and fresh fruits).

I booked this hotel for 6 nights on my solo trip to Malta and it’s probably one of the best hotels I’ve stayed in. I had arrived an hour early than check-in time but the receptionist was very helpful with checking to see if my room was ready and letting me settle in. On entrance to my single room, I noticed the really nice facilities provided. The bathroom was an open one which was ok as it was only me and complimentary items provided were: razor lit, toothbrush/toothpaste, shampoo, shower gel, body lotion, shower cap, sewing kit and tissues. The sink was on the opposite wall of the room and the safe was underneath. A hairdryer and laundry service was also provided. There were steps to the main part of the room which had a fake grass floor which was quirky. There was a single bed, table and chair, luggage rack, hangers (could have done with a few more) with slippers and dressing gown, umbrella and alarm clock/iPod docking station next to the bed. On the table was a coffee machine with coffee pods, sugar and milk. There was a bottle of wine next to it but I found that this was part of the mini bar underneath the desk and not complimentary. The bottle of water next to the bed was free and replenished everyday. Outside was the patio area which was accessed through a glass door and there was a table and chair and also a swing chair. I loved the swing chair, the cushions for this were under the bed, but it was lovely to sit in it in the nice weather. The only slight issue I had

Fantastic little gem of a Boutique Hotel, perfectly placed in Valletta Old Town for exploring the City. All of the staff, without exception, could not be more helpful or friendly. The rooms (there are only eight) are spacious and quirky with everything you need - lovely towels, bedding and furnishings, water/tea/coffee facilities replenished everyday. Breakfast is perfect with everything you could want - even 'Fizz'. Would not hesitate to stay again ourselves or recommend.

We have stayed in a number of boutique hotels in different European countries and so far have not been disappointed - SU29 continues that trend. It is perfectly located in Valletta and wherever we went was within a 5-10 minute walk of our hotel! While young, the staff were very friendly and helpful and I was very impressed before we even left the UK as I needed to ask for information on 2 separate occasions and the replies to my emails were extremely fast and gave me exactly the information/help I needed. The suite was a good size and comfortably furnished and there was adequate storage space for clothes and other items - a feature which is sometimes overlooked at boutique hotels. The breakfast offerings were excellent for such a small hotel and we ate there every morning of our stay. If we were going back to Valletta (we will definitely be returning to Malta as there is SO much to see!) SU29 would be our chosen place to stay! :)

A little gem of a hotel, with very friendly staff and in a great location. The room (501) was excellent and the hotel was impeccably clean throughout. The breakfast was very good and this is a highly recommended boutique hotel.

Perfect stay in Valletta
SU29 was amazing in every way - location, staff, and room. Even though it was located on a set of stairs (which I personally didn’t mind) it was easy enough to get to and very close to the main area in Valletta. The staff was beyond great - very helpful and attentive. The room also made you feel at home in terms of size and decor. In addition, the breakfast they offer is exactly what you need to start off your day. Would absolutely stay here again in Malta.

The location was outstanding but very difficult to find parking. The hotel was very nice and chic but we found it a little uncomfortable not having any windows or natural light. It was a bit like sleeping in a box.

Lovely small boutique hotel in central Valletta
This is a lovely hotel, with helpful, pleasant staff. There are many high spec design features and out loft room was spacious. The only downside was the breakfast which is mediocre and not at all up to the standard of the rest of the hotel. Only the coffee was good. Excellent location near the main sites and some lovely bars and restaurants.

Best Hotel in Valletta
One of the best experiences I’ve ever had at any hotel ever. Most hotels say they care about your experience, and will ‘do anything’ for you, but in my experience this doesn’t really happen. However, this hotel was fantastic. Welcome drink, which was a nice surprise, and the staff couldn’t be more helpful. Booked taxis and excursions for us. Complementary bottle of wine in the room as well. An open bottle of prosecco at breakfast to have with orange juice...All was fantastic. Plus a lovely location in Valletta on St. Ursula’s Steps. Seconds from amazing views of The Three Cities, and lovely bars and restaurants in Valletta’s atmospheric narrow streets. Would definitely stay there again.

Modern hotel in the heart of the old city
Very friendly and helpful staff. Lovely modern room. Fantastic breakfast bar. Very accommodating to my gluten free needs. One thing that might put some people off is there was no window in the bedroom, apart from one in the shower opening onto an enclosed shaft. Well situated to reach the main sites of Valetta and 10 minutes walk to the bus stop.

Staff were very friendly and helpful, good breakfast and very comfortable rooms. Perfect for a relaxing break. Close to the main centre shops and restaurants, but on a very quiet pedestrian street.
