Lovely stay at this hotel and would be happy to recommend and stay again. Clean comfortable bedroom and good shower. staff were lovely and very nice breakfast. Location was perfect close to good bars and restaurants.

Under the Maltese sky
We truly enjoyed our stay. The staff was very friendly and helpful and we had the good fortune of meeting the owner who is a renowned Maltese artist. Our room on the 4th floor included the hot tub and we enjoyed lying under the sun and the stars bathing in the bubbling water. The hotel is located in central Valetta, just around the corner from the basement market in the center of the island. The location is ideal for getting to know Valetta.

We liked the decor, art, bathroom with huge shower and bidet. Thoughtful provision of toiletries and kit including shoehorn and sewing. It was fun to have breakfast in a cave! Nice breakfast with smoked salmon. Very convenient for city centre. Loved it!

Great location, staff were so friendly and welcoming. Breakfast was good, hotel just not quite as plush as others nearby but really didn’t matter as it was clean, comfortable and we would stay again!

We had never visited Malta, and I am thankful we choose Valletta, the old capital, and this hotel. The staff welcomed is like family and could not do enough for us as guests. The breakfasts were delicious, and the hotel is a perfect location for finding a dinner spot & tourist site. It’s in walking distance to many sites, including the Cathedral of St. John and the Palazzo de Rocca, which I highly recommend. To save money the host will help you arrange a Bolt ride, much more reasonable than a taxi.

Arrived New Year’s Eve. We were given a room next to a noisy lift. It was the premium room which we paid extra for. The receptionist claimed all the rooms were the same. The bathroom kept flooding due to a faulty door. The entire ceiling was covered in black mould due to the extraction fan not working. We reported this to the owners (a father & son duo) to which they dismissed without apology and told us to ‘get out the hotel’ …..imagine if you had a child staying at this hotel breathing in black mould spores? Imagine being kicked out during new year week where it was impossible to get a hotel room because you reported a health issue to the owners? The owners are so rude and can’t accept any fault at their hotel. Really unprofessional. The owner is extremely sexist and only wanted to speak to my husband. Please do not stay at this hotel if you are a woman without a partner or if you have children. I have reported and sent the photos to Expedia.

Ohhhh our lovely and charming guest. The best we ever had. The most polite, well mannered and respectful guest ever. We were very happy talking and discussing with your partner because he knows how to talk and behave like a normal human being, unlike you. We never ever encountered someone like you in 6 years, and thank god for that. Apart from all this, we have the CCTV footage with the voice recording so if anyone ever would want to know who was rude and who acted badly, we will be very happy to show and flaunt this video with everyone. Quiet comfortable hotel
The hotel is centrally located in Valetta and handy for all the attractions. The room was rather cramped, but nicely furnished and a good bed.

We enjoyed it but..
We had a room facing the back, it was quite and clean, great large bathroom, the location is super central in Valleta, all attractions and restaurants just minutes away. Could be improved: 1. The most annoying is that internet keeps disconnecting every 30 mins or so and you need to reconnect. 2. The window in the room was in the corner and opened to a view of noisy pipes, so basically the room felt like it has no window. 3. The bed and pillows could be a bit more comfortable. 4. During the breakfast you need to ask the suff to serve you any food - how many pieces of cheese, bread... that takes some time if there are few people in breakfast and you just want to get salt or butter. That might be due to covid restrictions, the stuff do wear gloves, but I feel better if I take the food with my own hands rather than them picking it up with the same gloves the handle all guests dishes.

This hotel is great in just about every way but has one flaw- there is virtually no noise insulation. This meant neither my partner or I got a descent night sleep on any of the four nights. At around 4:30am every morning we were woken up to the sound of the daily bin collection. We were second floor up too. The underlying cause is the window- it had air gaps to the point where you could see light between the frame even when it was closed- on a night of rain we woke up to water in front of it. I get double glazing is probably not permitted on this building type but failing that a secondary glazing unit would easily resolve. Just to reiterate we were impressed with everything else about the hotel- the cleanliness, the location, the staff, the breakfast, everything else about the room. However, the primary reason we book a hotel is to sleep, and from that point of view it was terrible due to the noise. For this reason, I could not recommend unfortunately.

Brilliant hotel & location - breakfast average
Everything was excellent including the location apart from the breakfast. The food and drink was average. Maybe because of COVID self service wasn’t available instead we had to point at what we wanted and the waitress put the items on a tray - awkward. Staff brilliant and very helpful.

Perfect Stay
We loved our 3 night stay at the Palazzo Paolina Boutique hotel. The reception staff were really lovely and very helpful. Aleksandra pre-booked a taxi from the airport for us which made it very quick and easy to get to the hotel. Our room was a good size, very clean, comfortable and well appointed. Breakfast had plenty of choice with both hot and cold food which set us up for our days exploring the beautiful city. The hotel is also in a very good location and all the attractions and restaurants are well within walking distance. We would not hesitate to stay here again on our next visit.
