Not what I would expect

Posted 22-Nov-2014
Pros: Friendly staff at the front counter. Good size TV.
Cons: Cleanliness- non-ripped sheets, and clean floors, and emptied garbage A different chair to sit in.
Location: It is a tricky place to find if you don't know where you are going. There are several things to do close by
The room was a good size. BUT there were nail clippings I was stepping on from previous guests, and unemptied garbage. I didn't appreciate the 5 inch hole in the sheets, and the facilities were very dated. There was a chair to sit on, but it was just a dining room type chair and therefore not comfortable to sit in. I would not return to this hotel.

What a disappointment.

Posted 3-Nov-2014
Pros: Location
Cons: Everything.
Stayed here many years ago when it was a superb facility. Now - it's a run-down wreck! The advertisements show sitting chairs - none there! Paint missing all over the place. Wood chipped everywhere. A single lamp in the corner with no shade. No table, no chairs. And worst of all - black mold in the bathroom.

Tired Hotel

Posted 24-Oct-2014
Cons: The condition of the facility, and the amenities within the room.
Don Valley Hotel and suites looks ok from the outside, but is a tired and dated hotel. Its hallways show considerable wear and its rooms are very basic. The furniture is sparse and old. I would not stay here again.

Disappointed

Posted 22-Oct-2014
Pros: The staff were very nice and inviting.
Cons: New mattresses and pillows. Remove covered mold and replace with nice white cocking.
Location: We had to be at Sunnybrook Hospital by 6:00a.m. hotel was nice and close.
Beds and pillows very uncomfortable. Toilet seat was dirty, I had to clean it. Mold along the counter in bathroom covered in silicone.

Location Great, Accomodations Average

Posted 18-Oct-2014
Had an old room that did not look like the hotel web photos. Wifi constantly going in and out. Only one option for food (bar/cafe), hotel staff is noisy in the hallways.

Not Luxurious but It'll do!

For those who are not looking for top luxury but nice and clean place for short stays. Excellent for short business visits, etc.

Showing its age, and in need of upgrade.

Posted 30-Sep-2014
Pros: Was conveniently located for purpose of visit.
Cons: Overhaul of facilities and staff.
Location: Ontario Science Centre close by. Good shopping and restaurants in Don Mills Centre.
Very difficult to find as poorly lit sign was only indication beside road. Noisy lobby. Considerable wait for check-in. Bed had only one sheet plus comforter. Telephone did not work. Washroom appeared soiled but could have been discoloration due to age. Air conditioner was noisy. Complicated coffeemaker and radio. Confusing prices for extras that may or may not have been applied, e.g. no charge for parking although $15 was shown in literature.

Stayed 2 nights

Posted 30-Sep-2014
Pros: cheap rate
Cons: customer service
Location: lost in the middle of no where
There was a problem every day. The first night, all hotel guesses got an unsollicited wake up call at midnight. Getting an answer on the phone for room service, wake up calls, etc takes for ever. Many stairs to go up when coming in the building, and more stairs to go up to the elevator; not easy when you have luggage.
