Toronto Don Valley hotel

Posted 28-Jul-2015
Pros: The front-desk staff were friendly.
Cons: please see my experience
Location: We didn't find much to do unless you like Tim Hortons which is about a few steps away from the hotel.
We stayed 1 night at the room 157, luckily only 1 night! The air conditioning seemed to have been running because we could hear the loud noise all time, however, the room was very hot, it was around 30C outside, the room temperature was probably not much better because we couldn't stop sweating. There was dust on the lid of coffee machine. The swimming pool was ok but no towel available when we were there, about 7pm Saturday July 25. Before we went there, I asked the front desk to see if we need to bring room towels, we're told no need to because there're towels there...

OK experience

Posted 26-Jul-2015
Pros: Proximity to Don Valley and easy commute downtown.
Cons: More timely and guest focused response by front desk staff/management.
Location: Good proximity to Don Valley and easy commute downtown.
Long wait in line to sign in as only 2 clerks working desk. After an approximately 45 minute wait in line, got to desk and then another staff came to assist with registration. Those in line behind then didn't have long to wait. During check out, clerk took telephone call and then excused herself, said would be back soon. Waited a few minutes and then asked other clerk present to complete discharge. Hotel clerk who worked assisting with luggage was excellent, very helpful and friendly. Front desk area needs to be better managed with guest focus.

Nice hotel, room was mediocre

Posted 23-Jul-2015
Husband and i stayed at this hotel. The room was not at all what i was expecting. The lobby of the hotel was extremely modern and updated and i felt the room was seriously lacking. Counter in bathroom came to below my waist (im 5foot 1). Hallway to our room smelled extremely musty/old and our room did a little as well.

Great for the price!

Posted 23-Jul-2015
My fiancee and I needed a hotel close to shops at don mills for our three year anniversary and we came across this hotel. It's funny, I've lived in Toronto all my life and never actually knew this hotel was here. But it was a great hotel for what we paid. Staff was great and always asking how we are and such. The hotel bar is open late and priced pretty well for a hotel restaurant. The room we stayed in was an executive room and it was very clean. Only thing is the rooms could use a renovation but for what we paid it was great. Definitely would stay here again!

Not bad

Posted 20-Jul-2015
Very clean room and very friendly staff. Elevators are slow and there's no ramp to the elevators on the main floor so you have to drag your suitcase up some stairs. Ordered breakfast for the next morning and they called us and woke us up to clarify what we wrote, and the food was mediocre, not worth how much it cost. Didn't even come with juice or anything to drink. But other than that it was not bad!

Close to the office

Posted 17-Jul-2015
Pros: Renovated room. Paid a little more but its worth it!!
Cons: More complementary limo's or NO limo service at all.
Location: Close to my office but nothing but a Time Hortons close by
Make sure you get a renovated room. This time it was OK. There is a complementary LIMO service to building that are close by. The problem is that there is only one car and always a waiting line to use the service. The other problem is that there are NO taxis waiting in the lot because of the limo service so if you need to hop in a taxi you have to wait for the concierge to call and the taxi to arrive. With NO limo perhaps that would be two or three taxis waiting for a fare.

Friendly staff made for a great stay!

Posted 14-Jul-2015
Location: Great location allowed me to have short drive times to tourist attractions around the GTA.
The hotel was clean and very well maintained. The pools/hot tub were a good size and were open until midnight. Staff were friendly and always answered any questions the guests may have. The breakfast bar was delicious and convenient as you didn't have to leave the hotel first thing in the morning. Would definitely recommend the Don Valley Hotel!

Nickel and dimed

Posted 13-Jul-2015
Place sucks. They dont tell you the total price up front. They told me $145 and afterwards gave me a bill for $180 because of parking. They also dont own the vending machines so when it eats your money youre out of luck and wont get reimbursed. For the price you should at least get a fridge and microwave in the room.
