Cozumel Attractions

Are you looking for things to do in Cozumel? Look no further. The island of Cozumel is loaded with activities and excursions for everyone who steps on shore. Travel to Cozumel and see what everyone is talking about.

Cozumel is the largest Caribbean island in Mexico as well as one of the country's top spots for tourism. The island, which gets its name from the Mayan word "Cuzamil" meaning "Island of Swallows," focuses on tourist activities as its primary source of income.

Attractions in Cozumel are safe and friendly, as the island is eager to welcome single, families, seniors, and anyone who loves exotic places, sandy beaches, and delicious food.

One of the most popular Cozumel activities is shopping. The best shopping is arguably found in San Miguel, the island's largest city. Walk along the Puerta Maya Pier or head into downtown for an even bigger variety of shops. You can find items like handcrafted jewelry and leather goods, not to mention tequila and kitchen spices for a fraction of the cost you will see elsewhere.

Aside from shopping, there is plenty to do in Cozumel. Local sites in Cozumel include the Discover Mexico Park, the San Gervasio Mayan Ruins, and Xcaret, a natural theme park. You can also take part in one of the many Cozumel tours, some of which allow you to explore anything on the map of the island by horseback or snorkel along the shore. You can even go on a tequila tasting tour.

An attractive feature of Cozumel is its proximity to Quintana Roo. A short ferry ride will take you on exciting Cozumel excursions to Cancun, where you can shop, enjoy the beach, or take part in the nightlife. You can also visit Tulum. These must see ruins take you back to the 13th century when Mayans ruled the land.

While visiting Cozumel on a recent dive trip we stayed at Scuba Club divers resort. It was a very peaceful, clean, and well-run resort with very helpful staff! The resort backs up to the ocean offering unlimited shore diving which we took full advantage of. We took several night dives and on multiple occasions we would run into this guy who would always give us quite a show of colors as he was just as interested in us as we were of him! #LifeAtExpedia

The streets of Cozumel had a very recent facelift. There are some very cool street art all over the island. I'll do my best to post the exact location of all the art I find in the next few weeks. Stay tuned.
