Beach and pool area were pleasant. The sport areas and game room need some TLC. My son and I enjoy billiards but the tables were in poor shape. The rooms were tolerable, as expected, but we had no hot water. It was serviced but the hot water didn’t last. The pictures on the web site do not represent the present so be prepared. Overall I did enjoy my stay. I liked the view. Food was good. They were under construction so it shows they are concerned about appearance. This place has potential, it’s quiet, private, and friendly.

the location is great nevertheless this does not have anything to do with the hotel which have No Air Conditioner at all !!! . Plenty of space in the restaurant and we had a reservation and did not honored it with a very bad manner ; would say like discrimination.

The property has a lot of potential location is great, secluded, nice surroundings unfortunately this is an old building everything looks and smells old it seems like no money is injected back to the property. If you are looking for relax time this is not the placed they do a lot of activities for kids and families music, games and dancing all day long. We were there for a wedding which was amazing (really nice set up) but if you have no kids I'll recommend trying a different place.

Awful place... go to Vallarta instead.
Awful customer service... I had to wait 1 hour to check in... they couldn't find my reservation. No wifi... and when you go to lobby more pages are blocked online. I went to ask about it and they told me to go back tomorrow their internet person left for the day. The clients are pretty ghetto.... awful experience.

A Slice of Paradise
Secluded beach so no beach vendors. The staff were all friendly and helpful. Arrived on a Monday and checked out the following Monday. We requested and stayed in one of the quieter rooms facing the tennis courts. Most of the week they were not at full capacity so no real line ups at the buffet or any of the bars. Had a couple opportunities to visit the al a carte restaurant up on the hill which has a very lovely ambiance and great food. The buffet was varied and there was a section to cook a fresh breakfast and lunch. One night the entire buffet was moved to the outdoor entertainment area on the other side of the tennis courts which was a nice touch and no small effort. Friday saw a few tourist buses unload all sorts of nationals most with families, which changed the complexion of the resort and the line ups grew a little longer but a few more staff were there to handle this so not a great inconvenience. It seemed to me that everybody was relaxed and having a good time with the children playing all over the place which we didn't mind but some people may not be able to tolerate. On Saturday afternoon some of the baby turtles started to come out of their nests so as a crowd gathered, mostly children, we were all able to participate in the turtle release. These buses were back on Sunday and all the families piled on which returned the resort to the semi quiet that we had experienced when we first arrived. All in all a relaxing week which has created some good memories.

Noise!
If you enjoy loud music with heavy bass from 9am to 3am in the morning, children screaming in the middle of the night, waiting in line to reserve dinner in a restaurant that serves undrinkable wine, then this is the place for you! The hotel doesn't seem to care for the majority of guests who don't attend the weddings organized under their balconies on the beach! Too bad for a wonderful location and beautiful beach and outstanding staff! The guards are constantly patrolling you for your little blue dog tag and sometimes are overly suspicious.

Loved the beach
This is a place for Mexican families. If you love Tenacatita beach like we do it's a wonderful place. We paid about $100 a night for an ocean view room with meals and drinks. We will go back but it may not be what many Americans would like.

This is a terrible hotel, I did not feel comfortable in my room, they are dirty and un-maintained. Please stay somewhere else. Also the food is not good.

Arrived to find they did I not have my reservation, their internet was down so had to sit around in the heat and wait. Once I showed them my on line confirmation they some how found my reservation. A little blip in the road but other then that it was a pleasant get away.

Nice Mexican hotel
Very clean and everyone was very nice and helpful. But the hotel is targeting Mexicans, not Americans. The beds are rock hard and most of the staff speaks no English. They are happy to go find a translator, but that is annoying sometimes. The grounds are gorgeous and well kept up. The food is fair except for the specialty restaurants which are very nice.

Great time by the beach,
Had a great time at L.A locos, the only down fall was after 4 pm till 7pm only bar open was by the pool. The staff was fun and interacted with you. Lots of food and drink , lots of drink.. Oh yhea water flow in shower was slow and bath tub water went down slower, called to get it fix on day two of four but no one came to fix, bummer. Over all great time!!!!!

Out of the Way retreat
Food was very good, they have three restaurant experiences plus buffet and grill/bar on the beach. Beautiful pool and surroundings. Great place if you just want to relax. The beach is sandy but the water is rough (we had fun just standing in the water and waiting for the waves. Not many people on the beach. As is usual at Mexican resorts the music can be very loud at times. The first night we were kept awake by the music coming from the Disco. If you want it quieter ask for a room facing the tennis court - you still see the ocean. The evening entertainment was well done, especially the "Wizard of Oz" night. It is off the beaten path and quite a distance from any small towns. You can take a taxi though if you want to explore La Manzanilla, Barre de Navidad and Melaque (about 25 km) Beware of the English speaking guy at the desk who offers to take you into town for 25 peso - It turns into $25 U.S. and you are crammed into a taxi with three people in the back seat. For that price two of you can enjoy a taxi all to yourself. They have internet in the lobby. We will return. I think one week here is plenty.

A great relaxing holiday.
Our stay at Los Angeles locos was great. We have been to this hotel many times in the past. If you are looking for a nice, quiet, relaxing time, then this is the place to go. They have one of the best walking beaches that I have ever been to, and there are no peddlers on the beach at all. The meals are good, and the speciality restaurants are great. The entertainment is good, and the staff are very friendly. The only two draw backs as I see it are that it is along drive from the airport ( about 1 hour), and the maid that we had,did not do a very good job at cleaning.

Pretty Nice Stay
Upgraded to a suite. Needed a bit of updating, a bit worn around the edges. But received turn down service every night with a flower placed on the bed. The bed was comfortable, after we removed the rubber sheet. There was no hot water, but then again the water wasn't terribly cold. One of the biggest complaints is that the internet was confined to the lobby and just off the lobby. The Mexican Buffet first night was ok, however, one did not walk away hungry. Reserved dinner at the International Restaurant the 2nd night, and would give that meal and service a 4.5 star rating. We did upgrade our wine to a merlot from Argentina. The floor shows were entertaining, and I know the kids work hard at putting on a show. There was exercise class at the pool if you cared to join in and there was bingo around the pool. I would pay a bit more per room just for internet in the room, but all in all it was a pretty nice stay. I expect we'll go again. Most of the front office staff spoke perfect English.

Great place to stay
We loved the location and the beach, the hotel is very private and has everything included (kayak, horse rides, swamp tour). The inside of the hotel has a very pleasant feeling, nothing fancy but very nice. We were traveling with family and everyone enjoyed ( we end up staying another night). One of the rooms we got was 1st floor ( which is ground, didn't know that) and was dark, a little bit looking like a closet. They switched us to a nice one 2nd floor facing the pool and that one was fancying the pool but also the ocean. The top floor room was very nice partial ocean view. The beds like others said are extremly hard and full size. One can sleep ok but for a couple you may end up sleeping separate. Just for this reason I wish I would've got the king size suite and also those rooms have full size ocean view, big balcony and the mattress seemed very soft (more like what you expect at a nice hotel). We entered one of those rooms to check it. The pool is very large and not crowded. We end up staying most of the time in the ocean, was more fun and warmer. Be prepared to enter in the vacation mode as soon as you arrived as the Internet is very bad

Could be worse!!
This was my second time at this Hotel, prior was 5 years ago, and it seemed, that time did not pass; it Stayed... The hotel, regarding the building is not that bad, it's the rooms, that seemed a little forgotten, with little details, as loose lightbulb sockets, and mold in the showers, as well as the analog TV sets, and the grainy TV image, you even have to pick up the remote control at the front desk, and of course, they don't work, they're old and outdated, with drained batteries, you're supposed to call management to have the control programmed, and guess what?, they never did, after all, who goes to the beach to watch tv right?, well I kind of did... But the worst of all, was the food, buffet meals, were close to awful, and I sincerely don't know why, the sure dropped the ball, regarding food, that is my biggest complaint... Fortunately, the location is truly priceless, it makes up for everything, well no the food, you can't eat landscapes, but still, the beach there is truly wonderful, it is definitely a must have experience, after all I would still recommend this venue, based solely on it's wonderful location, hoping of course that management puts way more effort on the food offered, and in the rooms as well as the outside, since I thought the prior, didn't live up to the expectation created by the latter.

The Buffett food court is to ordinary, the only good and out of ordinary is the arreciffe restaurant, their food is very flavored and good tasted, was it, anything else in regular or less than that. I could not refer this as a "place that you can not miss out"
