I've considered a loveseat or larger couch in that cabin. It's a good idea. Bugs on the dishes? That's just not ok. I apologize for it and will make sure that doesn't happen again. I'm not sure what part of the cabin is run down. I'm 6'2" and slept in one of those queen beds for three months. I had to sleep diagonally but I was comfortable. Certainly more comfortable than concrete...which I've slept on.I hope you still had a great stay, if not in the cabin then the surrounding area. Maybe you got to see some deer while relaxing on the deck overlooking the Black Hills?

Are you sure you’re talking about my place? I don’t know where a Bear Mountain Lodge is, but that’s not the name on my establishment. And we’re not in town…we’re not even in city limits. If five minutes outside of town and 1/3 of a mile off the road is too close, I guess I get that. These are, in fact, cabins. I suppose there are large spacious cabins somewhere…but not here. On my site is a link called “What to Expect”…I’m not trying to misrepresent anything. On the contrary, I’m being honest about what this place is. The cows. Yes, they’re a nightmare and they’re not mine. Wyoming is a ‘fence out’ and open graze state, meaning, if you don’t want cows on your property, you get to foot the bill to keep them away. We put up an electric fence, but that hasn’t done the trick. We’re working to put a more permanent fence in place but it’s very expensive. We’ll get there. I’ve said this several times in my responses to reviews…get in touch with me if you have any questions or concerns. I’ll talk honestly with you about this place…like, how the studio cabins are 199 square feet.

I encourage anyone reading this to know what you’re getting into. Look at the pictures, read the descriptions, and by all means, get in touch with me if you have ANY questions. My establishment is not defined by anyone’s preconceived notions. If you don’t know the definition of ‘resort’, you likely don’t know the definition of ‘cabin’. The most unfortunate part of this is that someone had a bad time on their vacation. It’s not because of what I offer (which has been here and been the same for ten years), but because of what was brought with…and I don’t mean the luggage. I won’t apologize for the sinks in my cabins. They’re not going to change. You, however, can choose to stay somewhere that fits your particular lifestyle. I honestly want people staying here to have a great time. I’m certain you’d like that as well. Thank you for your feedback. The negative is just as important as the positive. Full disclosure…I have three other cabins that are larger and have a dedicated bathroom sink with a galley kitchen. The used coffee grounds is unfortunate and I apologize for not having that cleaned up for you. Had you gotten in touch while you were here, I could have made that right and possibly upgraded you to one of the larger cabins.

I went into the cabin and didn’t smell anything but what pine smells like. I asked three other people to walk in and tell me what the smell was but they didn’t smell anything out of the ordinary. I use vinegar, peppermint, and a drop of lavender to clean the cabins. Maybe a sensitivity to one of those?

Thank you for your feedback. The fine print is really there for my protection. In the past, if something just quits working I’ve offered discounts or refunds. That said, I work pretty hard and spend a good amount of money to keep everything in working order.
