Great
Very spacious home with plenty of room for family to gather and spend some time alone. Only issue is no direct access to beach. Must walk along road 2 houses to get there and walk a narrow path. Persons with limited mobility will have issues. Porch is shaded and was nice to sit out in the rain. Great home!

Great family time at the beach house
I had a great birthday week with family here. I was looking forward to just relaxing on the ocean view porch and visiting with family. The owner was very accommodating with anything we needed and very prompt. The house is very very clean, comfortable and complete with everything you would need for a family gathering . The downstairs area is completely separate from the upper house with separate entrance. There is a short walk to the beach because there are no steps to go down to the beach on the sea wall at the house. There has been a lot of erosion so there is about a 15ft sea wall drop. You have to go to the front of property and walk past one other residence to get to the path leading to steps to get down to beach area. There’s really no direct beach access for any of the homes due to erosion. We had a great time here and hope to go back sometime.

The house was well-equipped and clean. It was great to have beach chairs and beach towels. Having a garage was also convenient and helpful - we stored our bikes there. The deck was lovely to enjoy the sunrise and watch the ocean. We also liked the location (you can walk to two restaurants and you are a short drive from St. Augustine). All in all, the house was a good fit for our family (two teens used the downstairs apartment - they enjoyed having their own space). The only drawback to the house was - that due to beach erosion - you can't access the beach directly from the house. Although it is a very short walk to the access point, the short walk was along A1A which is a busy road with cars traveling at high speeds. Also, to get to the beach you have to go down about two flights of stairs. Not an issue for us but could be for others.

Fantastic location!
The listing is completely accurate-steps to the beach, a few miles from the city and breathtaking views. We enjoyed close-by restaurants as well as a few of our favorites about 20-minutes or so from the house. Definitely would stay here again!

Forget your troubles
Split level house with the main part of the house upstairs and second apartment downstairs with a bathroom and kitchen. Large deck at back perfect to listen to the crashing waves and breathing the salty air. On our stay it was rather windy and cool but it was still a perfect way to relax. Grocery shopping is just 5 minutes away and the heart of St Augustine is 10 without traffic. Secret, take the back streets you’ll get there faster and bypass the narrow A1A. The house is fully equipped with plenty of bathrooms 2 upstairs and 1 downstairs. Master bedroom is very spacious with its own sitting area and TV. Overall this is a great place to stay.

Perfect vacation home
We absolutely loved this house. It was clean, well stocked, and the location is amazing! The beach is clean and quiet and the kids (and adults) loved the waves! The house has a great deck and we spent every evening in the rocking chairs watching dolphins swim by. Overall the house and location were perfect, we will definitely be back!

2nd year staying at this house
This is our second year staying at this house with our family. It's perfect for a family wanting to spend time at the beach. The proximity to the beach is perfect. You can run up to the house to make lunch or take a break. The owner is very quick to respond and very helpful. The downstairs apartment allows the teen/20 somethings to have a little distance from the family. It's within walking distance to The Reef restaurant which is very good and super close to Aunt Kate's restaurant which was also very good.

I would return, we had a good time. The only thing was that the downstairs was separate, you had to go outside to a separate entrance. So if someone stayed down there you wouldn’t feel a part of everything.

Everything was great, 6 women celebrating for 3 days! Amazing views, private, quiet beach and the home was comfortable. Only thing was the beach access can be a challenge if you have mobility issues. This is because of the erosion, but that’s Mother Nature! We made it fine though and thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

A magnificent property that will Shock you with it's class!
The property is nestled on a quiet beach with beautiful sunsets. A substantial 2nd-floor deck awaits your dream vacation. The beds were comfortable, and my wife and I had a wonderful stay. The property owners are adorable, and the decor and spaciousness of the property are welcomed. We had our own guests stay a night with us and they had the whole lower level to themselves and we had the privacy we wanted. You can't go wrong with this property as it is Gem In the sky!

Perfect place to relax
I was kind of amazed when I got to the house as I had no idea it would be so ideal for us. Right on the ocean, just a few feet from an access point, as the beach has eroded a lot. The deck is PERFECT for sitting out and immersing in the air and view. The house itself is so comfy and easy as it has everything needed. Beds are very comfortable too! There is lots of space and beach chairs, toys etc. The beach itself is HEAVEN. Wide open walking on hard sand, beautiful water and seabirds, and just a a few people. This is a place to totally relax and enjoy. I can't wait to go back.

Eclectic Family Cottage
This family home is in such a beautiful location. The beach is perfect for those who wish for a peaceful and relaxing vacation as it is not overcrowded or noisy. The deck provides the perfect spot to view younger visitors while sipping coffee or other beverages. The house itself is a well loved family home where the visitor might come across family photos while searching for extra towels. The eclectic mix of furniture and kitchenware adds extra charm. I enjoyed wondering where each treasure came from, who contributed each piece to the family home and wondering about the family stories that must accompany some of the pieces. These notions lent to the idea that the people renting this family beach home were not just allowing you into their home, but sharing a bit of their family story with us. My parents rented this home and my cousin and I shared the downstairs apartment while my twins floated back and forth between the two when it came time for bed. Most of our time was spent upstairs, but it was nice to have a little separation thanks to the separate apartment when it came to the early vs. the late risers. The drive in to the oldest city in America was beautiful as well. We easily visited Marineland where we played with dolphins, we learned about the history of the city at the local National Park, Castillo de San Marco. We visited the Alligator Farm and my 12 year old twins held a baby alligator. It's only two hours away from Orlando and we quite easily took a day trip to the Magic Kingdom. We were quite busy, but honestly, we would have been perfectly satisfied spending all of our time on the beach or the deck or the porch until it was time for sleep.

Besides the fact, the house is located on the beach, the house was very large. The host was a super.
The host has anything and everything. You don't need to bring anything. It is fully stocked with things you think you'll need. The view was amazing. As well as the house. You will love the master bath shower. It is one of the many bonuses yo the house. Most important is the fact that it is safe. Felt very secure in the house.

Great Location but terrible home
This home is advertised as a 3 bedroom with one of the bedrooms as a separate apartment. The location and view of the ocean from the deck were fantastic. However, there were many issues with the house. The apartment was on the lower level and it smelled like mold. It was terrible and we could not use it. The main level was not professionally cleaned as VRBO requires. There were spider webs on the chandelier, red sauce on the rug, crumbs on the stove, dirty kitchen drawers and dust on all surfaces. The master linens appeared to be new and were decent, but the guest bedroom had musty linens. It was cold and there was only a thin blanket on each bed and only 1 extra blanket. We had to buy 2 blankets at our own expense. Our expectations were that there would be paper products provided. There was only a partial roll of paper towels, 1 extra trash bag and only 1 roll of toilet paper in each bathroom for our 1 week stay. There were 3 girlfriends sharing the house and we each expected to have our own room. Since we couldn't use the apartment 2 of us had to share the master bedroom. The master bed was absolutely terrible. It was old with large deep dips on each side of the mattress so one of us had to sleep on the pull out sofa. I contacted VRBO about these issues after our stay, but they said they couldn't/wouldn't do anything because our stay was over. I've contacted the host and I've waited over 4 days for a response. She confirmed receipt of my email, but has chosen not to respond to my request for a refund of 1/3 of the charge since we could only use 2 of the 3 bedrooms and the cleaning fee since the house was dirty. I've never left a negative review like this on any website, but I think all potential renters need to be warned that this home is NOT up to the standards guests expect from VRBO.

The VRBO rental consist of two separate quarters. The upstairs is the larger of the two, with two bedrooms and two baths; the downstairs apartment consist of a bedroom and bathroom. This information is described in our description about our rental. If you read the reviews from other renters there are no complaints regarding odors smelling like mold or the lack of cleaning . This rental is our family home and we also want to enjoy a clean, sanitized home. All linens, bedspreads, and towels are cleaned prior to new guests coming. I personally shared with you where the thermostat was located so that you and your guest would be comfortable. Florida weather is unpredictable. Bathrooms and kitchen are always cleaned and sanitized. The house maintains extra essentials located in the cabinet next to the washer and dryer. The mattress on the master bed is solid foam. I contacted the individual I purchased the mattress from and he suggested I place a firmer topper on the bed. I did so. I am sorry for my delay in response to your email . However, I explained I had family in my home and upon their departure I would respond. I did so. I wish you had contacted me.

We stay at least once a year in St. Augustine. This has been our favorite place so far. It is steps away from the beach. Beautiful views. Easy check in and we had owner’s phone number just in case there were any problems. We did not need to contact her for anything though. We will definitely be staying here again.

We loved walking the beach and watching people walk the beach from our porch area. Beach access was a time bit of a challenge but no problem really. Looks worse than it was as we had no problems. We had a great time! This was a girls weekend! My mother in law & all her daughter in laws! The. Place is very nice & there’s plenty of room! We enjoyed the upstairs& also the downstairs area! We loved that there was a kitchen on both floors! The weather was just perfect for this Labor Day weekend! It was very clean! We love the top balcony& also the bottom balcony! Another thing we loved is that there are 3 sofa bed couches! Great for kids! We would totally rent this home again! This beach house is witching walking distance to the reef restaurant! The house is in a great location and direct access to the beach which was the main reason we chose this property! You feel like you are at home but in paradise with the beautiful beach view right out on the 2nd floor covered porch! We would definitely choose this property again. Nothing fancy very spacious. Several days before our arrival the owner contacted us to let us know of some problems with appliances in the home. Luckily none of these were a problem for us and we agreed to stay on schedule with our trip. New appliances (upstairs oven and washer) were installed during our stay. We were able to meet the owner and what a delight she was! This is her family home and it was great getting to hear some of the stories behind it. We had 8 people in our group. Two adults stayed downstairs and 4 adults and 2 kids stayed upstairs. The master suite is huge! There is a king bed, sleeper sofa, five chairs and a huge closet. We used a couple of twin size air mattresses for the kids. In the master bath there is a 2 head shower and also a complete shower/tub combo with a very long vanity. It also has access to the porch which is very nice. The guest bedroom is a decent size with a queen bed and a nice closet. The guest bath is a bit small but with all the extras in the master bath it worked well for us. The kitchen/dining/living areas were all very accommodating. We do very little cooking on vacation but there was plenty of everything we needed. It does tell in the description but to clarify, the upstairs and the downstairs apartment are completely separate. You have to go outside to get from one to the other. Access to the beach is fairly easy and very close. They have brought in sand to help build up the shoreline so there is a slight hill to climb on the way back to the house from the beach but it isn’t bad. The most impressive thing to me was the lack of crowds! We never had anyone even remotely close to us while on the beach. If we return to the area we will definitely try to stay here again!!!

A lovely beach house in a perfect location! Our family rented both sections of the home and we absolutely loved calling this house home for 9 days. The space was wonderful for us to spend time together in the common areas and the bedrooms provided comfortable sleep and opportunity for down time. The decor and furnishings provided a beautiful aesthetic and a cozy environment. The amenities, including the kitchen appliances, tools and dishes made it easy to prepare meals and overall added to our comfort. The location was very convenient. We loved the quick and safe access to the beach, as well as the proximity to the grocery, area restaurants and the amazing downtown area and sites. There were a couple complications including cleanliness and broken items. The dishes needed cleaned before use and the home could use a deep cleaning. The main surfaces and walkways appeared to have been cleaned but surfaces just past the eye (under furniture/ tables, etc) had not been attended to in a while. A big inconvenience was that the upstairs oven did not work but since we rented the downstairs too we were able to use the oven downstairs and bring the food up to the larger eating space. The washing machine and dishwasher did not work very well and there were other issues discussed with owner that all appeared to be listened to and taken under consideration. Overall we loved this beach house, including the amazing ocean view from the balcony. We made a lot of fun family memories in a place that offered paradise. We will definitely consider staying here again.

I will be honest we were a little hesitant after reading a previous review but this place was AMAZING. You are within feet of the beach. You are within walking distance to the restaurant, The Reef. The beach was perfect, not a lot of people. Yes the house is a bit dated but you can tell the owner is working to update. The place was great for families with older kids. The downstairs apartment was their own place. Both stories have a covered porch and plenty of seating. The house was well equipped for 8 people ranging ages 66 to 12. Plenty of parking for 2 big vehicles.

Disappointing/poorly kept
The view from the second story is great. We are new to HomeAway but have rented through other companies before in other locations and have had great experiences, but those were professionally run and cleaned. We rented a house on the beach to enjoy the beach environment. Once we arrived, we were informed we were not allowed to open any windows of the house. This home is NOT child friendly. The railings on the 2nd floor porch has spindles over 8-10” apart. Multiple outlets with no covers and exposed live wires. Multiple double keyed deadbolts on both interior and exterior doors create a death trap in the event of a fire. The cleanliness of the kitchen was absolutely unacceptable. The pots, pans, and dishware were all dirty and covered in dried up food. As if the last person had used them and put them back without cleaning them first. There should be a professional cleaning done before the next person comes in to rent the property especially since we are charged for a cleaning fee. Multiple roaches both live and dead were seen throughout the interior of the property. The refrigerator and pantry were filled with previous occupants food items, most that have been opened and used. Not only is it untrustworthy but we are also in the middle of a pandemic. The bbq was horrible, I spent 45 min scrubbing the grill plates to get it prepared to be used. We were so disappointed and disgusted, we ate out every night after the first 2 nights.The closets had no hangers for use to hang cloths and most people don’t travel with hangers. We were instructed to strip all of our beds before leaving...again, where is the cleaning fee being utilized? My wife spent great deals of time on what was supposed to be a week for her to relax...cleaning up, wiping down surfaces, cabinets, tables, dishes on items supposed to be cleaned before we arrived. We kept all of our items in our suitcases for the entire stay. We made contact with the owner and this was the response, “thank you very much for your honest opinions. We are very new to renting our home on VRBO. We are in the learning process. We will make certain that the items that you have mentioned are resolved. We will especially make certain that the cleaning service inspect and wash the dishes, pots and pans between rentals.” Nothing was corrected or offered for inconveniences. We have multiple photos which we have shared with the owner but photo attachments for this review is not an option.

Perfect for a beach getaway!
I visited with my teenage son while touring Flagler College and had a mini-Spring Break. House is right on the beach and the view is breathtaking. The upstairs is perfect for a couple or small family. You have everything you need and it is very clean and well taken care of. The downstairs was my son's favorite, as he liked having time to "chill." The property owner is available and accommodating and I felt safe in the area. I wish I could have stayed for a week!

The property was right on the beach. The property was divided into two separate units. The first floor was not equipped with a microwave or very much cookware. The 2nd floor was beautiful and well equipped. The first floor needed a few cosmetic improvements. However, you can't beat the location.
