Lovely room and friendly, helpful staff. Food was great and it was nice to sit on the veranda very early in the morning and listen to the sea. Will definitely go again.

Great location
Great location. Room was outdated and bed was uncomfortable. It was quite noisy and there was no TV signal either. We arrived at 2pm as our confirmation said we could check in then but when we arrived, we were met by an abrupt guy who said check in was at 2.30pm. After few words we were able to check in. Breakfast was average and had to ask for our table to be cleaned. The young girl who served us was great but the rest just looked as if we had spoken in a different language. Overall, great location but wouldn't rush back.

Despite Coronavirus, I was looked after very well. Food was excellent, the room was great. The bed was comfortable and I had a really good night's sleep. All you could want from a hotel!

Our experience with Waterfront Inn was excellent. Very welcoming staff from the beginning, willing to give you even further information and assistance. They have been there always when needed. The room itself was very warm and clean. The hotel is located very close to the beach, hence it was very convenient for us to take night beach walk. Overall we were extremely happy with the location, staff and service. Thank you so much :)

Amazing location, great bar and friendly staff. Had to leave early in the morning so owner made us a breakfast and coffee to go. Would definitely come again.

Great location
Ideal location if you love the beach. Room was light and spacious with sea views. Very clean. Above a very popular restaurant/bar with great food. All the staff were very friendly and helpful. Definitely recommend this hotel.Best breakfast ever, freshly cooked to order.

Amazing location, great to travel around, buses at top of the high street also train in to Ryde. Love the rugged coastline and everywhere seems dog friendly! November trip was a little cold and breezy but it didn't stop our days out walking!

A tired old dump
Looked OK externally, from a distance, but our room was very shabby, with broken curtains that let in the light - they had spent no money here ! The dangerously steep stair to the first floor rooms absolutely stank . The 3 steps up to the hotel entrance door, and the door frame laid across the threshold, were dangerous, - as demonstrated by an elderly lady who tripped over as she was leaving. Fire extinguishers were WATER, which cannot be used on electrical or oil type fires (should be dry powder).

Excellent location, breakfast can be improved.
Friendly staff, rooms clean and comfortable. Breakfast was a little chaotic- staff on at breakfast didn’t seem to know what they were doing. We thought the breakfast choice was very limited. The hotel also offered a different breakfast menu for non residents but we were not allowed to order from that menu - such a shame. Overall an excellent location, rooms clean but improvements at breakfast - both choices available and service are needed.

plus sides were the fantastic location of hotel which came with a delicious breakfast free.the room was pretty basic, bed was really comfy and we had a seaview room which had fantastic views.the downside to room was the shower room which was very small with not enough room to turn around in also odd taps one of which you had to turn round several times to get water out of.door of shower room was on runners which didnt feel secured properly.Whilst saying all this we did thoroughly enjoy our stay and will be going back again.

Dozens of bed bugs in the room. We had to book into a different hotel in the middle of the night because of the bed bugs. The manager claims we were making it up despite clear evidence of the bugs and bites. I can't recommend this place to anyone.

I had a "compact room" on the second floor. It was small, but it was very adequate. The whole place was quite charming, and everyone -- staff and guests -- were very friendly and welcoming. I was traveling on a whim -- had a free night after a conference and decided to spend the night on the Isle of Wight. Took the train to Portsmouth, the ferry to Ryde, and the tiny train to Shanklin. If you like Annie & Clarabel from Thomas the Tank Engine, you'll love the tiny train! The Inn was about a 10-15 minute walk downhill from the train station. Coming back, I took the stairs up from the beach. Breakfast was big, delicious, and included in the room price. This is not a 5-star hotel. It's not even a modern hotel, but I found it to be very charming. Time permitting, I would have brought my son and husband back there when they arrived in London two days later. Alas, our agenda was already packed.
