“I would definitely come back!”
I would highly recommend this hotel. The staff was very friendly. They cook breakfast for free. Everything was cozy and wonderful. I also liked how the hotel was located near Namdaemun Market and Myeongdong. The Hoehyoen Station exit 1 is just 5-10 minutes away. If you are taking the airport shuttle I suggest to get off at Myeongdong. I really enjoyed my stay there!
“Salvation in Asia!”
After a tumultuous time in China, Hillhouse was our salvation. Checkin was the easiest experience ever. The front desk spoke English and helped make our time in Seoul wonderful. They helped book our DMZ tour too. Nice sized, clean, tidy rooms. A huge 52 inch flat screen tv and a good amount of English channels. Hard wood floors. Our room (209) had a little foyer for leaving outdoor shoes and slipping into hotel slippers. The bed was double with great bedding. There was a mini fridge with free water. The a/c worked great. Make sure you read the hotel guidebook--it explains how to work the a/c and tv. The bathroom was huge. Frosted glass wall that was opaque. Huge shower area with two shower heads. Very clean too. It was such luxury after our experiences in China. Finally, back in civilization. Two super friendly and nice maids serviced our room a day. One to change sheets and give towels and one to clean. Breakfast was included and we loved the chipper, organized breakfast lady. Eggs and toast with coffee and juice. Simple but perfect way to begin the day. Hillhouse was a welcoming, wonderful place that helped us fall in love with Seoul. There is free wi-fi in lobby and two computers for guest use as well. The hotel is centrally located on the hillside near Namsan Park. Every night walking home you can see Seoul Tower lit up. It's a leisurely 6 minute walk to the best of downtown--Shinsegae department store and Namdaemun market, and the subway stop Hoehyeon.
“The friendliest most helpful people ever!”
This hotel was wonderful, the staff even called other hotels for me when i was leaving the area to help translate!
“Rave Review”
Hill House Hotel, Seoul, was exceptional for its quality, service, and friendliness. Service includes continental breakfast and English translators. My room was large, clean, and well-maintained with clean towels and juice in the refrigerator for each day I stayed. A microwave and walk-in shower are also part of the service. It's location is good as it's near Seoul Station and Namdaemun, the great open market.
“Warm home”
It is very convenient to subway, busstop, ming-dong market and so on. Free internet, warm decoration.
“Best deal and location in Seoul”
Last secret for an incredible value Hotel with superior location surrounded by small town like low city house buildings at the bottom of a hill. We HIGHLY recommend. A no brainer for ALL that money saved! Originally we online booked the cheap Hill House Hotel only for the first 3 days (emergency booking) and booked another 7 days at a 3x more expensive Ibis Meyondong Hotel with no breakfast included as a supposed to be upgrade. But having quickly gotten used to the from our stylish architectural home different room environment at Hill House Hotel, we started to love the honest authentic Korean offering and felt having finally arrived in the country we came for. A simple warm felt, clean! hotel with breakfast and lovely personal, making every effort to please you (the young staff speaks English)! The international Ibis Meyondong Hotel in comparison felt like a mayor cookie cutter rip off without local personality. We canceled immediately only to go back relieved to the Hill House Hotel. The famous hustle and bustle of loud music, markets and fancy shopping centers, is 10-15 Min walking distance away, but you walk home into a quiet neighborhood!! Priceless. Again, hard to believe but the Hill House is for that money the best value Hotel in the best location..Period!!!!.They even don't advertise that there is a huge public Korean GYM and Olympic size Swimming pool across the street which we used cheap too! Hill House also has free internet in each room (bring/ buy LAN cable).
“Exceptional hotel service for a small price”
The Hill House is an exceptional hotel to stay at. Although it is slightly off the main streets, there are easy-to-remember landmarks all around, so finding your way back to the hotel is not very difficult. The hotel is situated very near Hyeohyun #1 Subway Entrance/Exit so getting to the subway is fairly easy. Hill House is so close to Myeongdong, I could walk there in about 15 min. It is close to the fancy shopping department, Shinsege, and is only one stop away from Seoul Station subway stop (Line 1). I stayed with a friend, and we still had enough space even when we had sprawled our bags all over our room. The room comes with A/C and a guide in English with instructions to use the TV and the A/C. The room's bathroom is so clean and has a better shower than I do at home. There are wonderful ladies (who are very friendly) that clean the room everyday, which includes new bed sheets, new fresh white towels, and making the room look as if you had just checked-in. There is a UV sanitizer if you need it (we thought it was a microwave at first), two coffee cups, two glass cups, and instant coffee. There is a water cooler and a small refrigerator with two free cans of green tea or plum tea that are replaced after each day you drink them. The front desk staff are extremely friendly and very helpful. There is also a free satisfying breakfast everyday from 8 - 10am. The service is wonderful, the stay was ever so comfortable. I will definitely stay at Hill House again.
“Very comfortable, defintely recommended.”
The room was clean and very comfortable. Good central location near underground station and shopping areas. Staff were pleasant and helpful. Price was also reasonable. I would fully recommend this hotel.
“Nice hotel. Great location.”
The Hill House Hotel is located within easy walking distance to Namdaemun Market and the subway. It is vitually in the shadow of N Seoul Tower making this hotel a good choice, location wise. Generally, everyone on staff speaks enough english to help the bi-lingually challenged. Clean, large rooms. Free breakfast in the morning seals the deal. Recommended.
“A modern hotel with traditional rooms”
Whilst not difficult to find using a map, signs on the main roads would have made things easier. On arrival we were greeted with courtesy and check in was easy. The carpet on the back stairs was somewhat tired but on arrival at the room this was forgotten. Our room was excellent with all facilities working and a great, comfortable bed. Underfloor heating provided an excellent level of heating. We had a problem with getting all the TV channels but this was quickly sorted out. Breakfast was very good - we had plenty though there was no choice. The service was excellent with a very entertaining and friendly cook. There was a free coffee vending machine in the lounge area with good quality coffee. The location was excellent very close to the subway, the Myeondong Shopping area, Namdaemun market. All the palaces were in walking distance as was Insa Dong, Namsangol Traditional Village, N Seoul Tower and Namsan Park and Seoul Station. We will certainly stay at Hill House hotel on our next visit to Seoul
