Two Day Business Trip

Posted 6-Apr-2015
Pros: Breakfast was excellent, the room was clean and the view was great.
Location: The location is within walking distance to public market, the waterfront and numerous restaurants and live entertainment.
This hotel had a spacious room, accommodating staff and a great location for a two day business trip to Seattle. The location is also only three or four blocks from the light line rail station, so it was very easy to get from the airport to the hotel, and the train ride was only $3 each way.

It was nicely renovated with a gorgeous view, a pretty nice functioning gym, very comfortable bed with thoughtful toiletries. Pretty much everything in place to keep a lone business traveller happy. It is conveniently located within the city too in downtown Seattle right near the I5 too and a short walk over to Capital Hill or Belltown.

Wont stay again

Pros: I had room on 20th floor, nice view
Hi, so I wanted to stay in the heart of Seattle, but.....pillows, very hard to chose the right pillow, even staff didn't know which pillow is smallest! Very poor TV channels option. only few channels, one HBO. If your tired after work or meeting and you want to just sit and relax and watch some TV well get ready for commercials every 5 min that's only if you find something interesting to watch! Valley parking $37 plus tips! Stay in Hyatt down the street, parking is free! Breakfast $16.95 per person - again stay in hotel NEXT door where breakfast is included! Overall the hotel is nice but just as my neighbors house from the outside till you get inside and see all the problems!

Dear Traveler, Thank you for taking the time to write a review about your stay with us. It was very disappointing to read we did not meet your expectations. I apologize the staff did not know which pillow was the smallest from the special pillow menu we have available for our guest to choose from. Your comments have been reviewed with the Director of Housekeeping to ensure all staff are trained thoroughly on the special pillows we offer. Due to limited parking in the downtown Seattle corridor, parking can be expensive. Prior to setting price for parking and other services we complete extensive competitive analysis to ensure we are in line with like hotels in the area. We regret you were not satisfied with the TV channel options available. We appreciate all of our guest feedback, as it helps us to continue to improve and offer the best possible product and service for our guests. We hope in the future you are willing to give us the opportunity to welcome you back again and exceed your expectations. Sincerely, Cristy Smith General Manager

Solid choice. Good view.

Pros: View. Staff. Toiletries. Decor / color scheme.
Cons: Temperature control; power outlets; food selection.
Location: Adjacent to I-5. Walking distance to all Downtown Seattle attractions. Throw a rock and you'll hit a Starbucks.
This was my second stay at Seattle's Downtown Crown Plaza. I previously stayed there nine years ago. Demographically, I'm a 31yo gay Caucasian male relocating Seattle, if that helps your planning. The desk agent was very accommodating. I asked him for a 'high-up room', and he gave us a corner room on the 29th Floor, looking south towards The Renaissance Hotel and SB Interstate 5. The room was quite nice. Great decor, bathrooms, beds, toiletries (there is a sign stating that the front desk will supply a guest with a razor, tooth brush, and toothpaste. I didn't test this, but I assume it's true). My only gripe would be a really loud and inconsistent temperature control. Use of heater or A/C will cause the system to be very noisy until it reaches what it thinks is the right temperature. A little cold goes waaaaay cold, and a little heat goes very hot. Power outlets were curious. There was a power strip bank built into the desk, and it was mostly useful (heavy plugs will drop off). There were several outlets built into the lamps around the periphery of the room; however, these outlets are low-powered, so recharging electronics with these takes awhile. Wi-fi worked pretty well. The code is on your key sleeve when you check in, and nowhere else. Try not to displace this; otherwise you'll be confused (it is not in a leather-bound book on the desk, as it customary). Debit users will be required at $100 additional deposit if opting not to use a credit card. Overall, A-.
