Solid choice. Good view.

Pros: View. Staff. Toiletries. Decor / color scheme.
Cons: Temperature control; power outlets; food selection.
Location: Adjacent to I-5. Walking distance to all Downtown Seattle attractions. Throw a rock and you'll hit a Starbucks.
This was my second stay at Seattle's Downtown Crown Plaza. I previously stayed there nine years ago. Demographically, I'm a 31yo gay Caucasian male relocating Seattle, if that helps your planning. The desk agent was very accommodating. I asked him for a 'high-up room', and he gave us a corner room on the 29th Floor, looking south towards The Renaissance Hotel and SB Interstate 5. The room was quite nice. Great decor, bathrooms, beds, toiletries (there is a sign stating that the front desk will supply a guest with a razor, tooth brush, and toothpaste. I didn't test this, but I assume it's true). My only gripe would be a really loud and inconsistent temperature control. Use of heater or A/C will cause the system to be very noisy until it reaches what it thinks is the right temperature. A little cold goes waaaaay cold, and a little heat goes very hot. Power outlets were curious. There was a power strip bank built into the desk, and it was mostly useful (heavy plugs will drop off). There were several outlets built into the lamps around the periphery of the room; however, these outlets are low-powered, so recharging electronics with these takes awhile. Wi-fi worked pretty well. The code is on your key sleeve when you check in, and nowhere else. Try not to displace this; otherwise you'll be confused (it is not in a leather-bound book on the desk, as it customary). Debit users will be required at $100 additional deposit if opting not to use a credit card. Overall, A-.

Just average

Prepaid for 2 adults and 2 children with breakfast, but had to pay extra separately for my children. Air conditioning smelled unpleasant. Bad sink drainage. Noisy, so couldn't sleep well.

Seattle hotel

Posted 27-Jan-2015
Cons: All of the above
Location: close to pike market
The tv didn't work properly had to have someone up to fix it, the ac controls wouldn't work. I wanted the room cooler. The bed wasn't comfortable. No valets out to park the car. It was confusing. as was getting my car out the next day. The 37.00 price was high and ended up to be 50.00 RIP off

Dear valued Guest, Thank you for posting a review about your stay. We glad that found the hotel to be of good quality and you had fun during your stay. Being a downtown hotel, there are times were demand can push prices to much higher level for hotel rooms. Kind regards, Tarig Ghandour Director of Operations
