Lovely
Beautiful property with great enclosed deck (shared) for viewing the beach on rainy days. The beds were old and squeaky, though, and the main one leans back toward the headboard. Sleep was a bit of a struggle.

Work weekend
Needed a place to seclude away to organize 30 years of photos. Outdoor table was great and out of the weather and wind. Not a three bedroom, there is a queen bed in the living room. Great location, easy instructions and good communication. No oven/stove or BBQ, but would stay there again.

Great location
We loved the location and view. House and property are very beautiful, quiet and clean. Steps down to ocean and almost private beach are super cool and beautiful! Location was perfect for our trip too. We wished the kitchen was more complete as we had planned to cook, but there is no stove. Would recommend a single induction burner and a few pots! Also need a few more lights in kitchen and would be much more comfortable if bed in living room was a sofa bed -- not a lot of room to hang out in this place. But overall, it was a great spot. Thanks!

I hate to write a negative review but this place smelled like a nursing home. carpet had stains, no water filter so you can't drink the water unless you like really bad tasting water. one window had no handle so could not open it and the blind was broken on the other window so we couldn't get a cross breeze and no fans or any way to move the air in there. bulbs were burned out in the upstairs rooms. the kitchen has a very strong coffee smell, not like ahh nice it smells like coffee - like day in day out coffee brewed all day at a diner kind of smell. it was clean but could for sure use a dusting and the smell was just so unpleasant we dreaded going back inside each day. view was 10/10. and I knew it was on the same property as the owner but you are connected to their house by the outdoor patio (picture with the view and the owls) and they have a camera above their backdoor which is right where you are sitting. so I understand having a camera on your backdoor...but it's awkward to think you might be being watched or listened to while you sit outside to enjoy the view. rip out that carpet and get some hardwoods in there. would not stay there again, would not recommend to anyone i liked. sorry for the negative review, hope some changes will be made.

Lovely place
Lovely and private. There was a queen bed downstairs and then upstairs there were two twin beds and one day bed with a trundle bed underneath. The private walkway to the beach is easy to get to. The view is fabulous. The only problems that there weren’t enough bath towels and no kitchen towels or papery towels but we made due.

Ocean Fix
The location and beach access was exquisite. Being away from the crowds works for us. The ocean view was amazing. The only issues - only one wash cloth, no dish rags - only a minor inconvenience. All in all it was a great time on the Oregon coast. Thanks!!

Beach paradise
For early June the weather was incredible and we spent time on the beach, and fishing from shore. My only complaint was there wasn’t any way to cook food other than the microwave and toaster. Also, no trash can in the kitchen made it inconvenient.

Great location
The location of this hone was just as described-right at the beach, with beautiful views from several windows. The surrounding landscape was also lovely and very peaceful. It felt very private. The downsides-no stove, no living room area-were in the description so no surprise. The stairs to the beach which bothered some people were steep but sturdy, and no problem for a 3 year old, a woman 8 months pregnant, and a senior in her seventies. We'd come again!

Great and quiet location
The place was exactly as described. It's a bit of a challenge getting off the highway but we had no issues. The place is wonderful and we enjoyed our stay. The little pick we would have is that we found it a little busy and dated. But the view, location and quiet environment were unbeatable. Though it rained most of the time there, we'd definitely come back for the summer. We'd recommend it to all.

Cozy, but comfortable
Our stay was comfortable. There is just enough room for an adult and 2 older teens. The small kitchen worked great for warming up leftover take out for lunch. The upstairs is a bit loud when the wind blows. If it is going to be windy, bring ear plugs. Great beach access and a beautiful property. We will book it again.

This cottage is directly connected to the main house where the owner lives and has cameras.
I never made it inside the owner came over the camera and told me to vacate immediately because I had a dog. He is a service dog. I had messaged and verified it was acceptable. I called the management co and they accused me of lying and said there was no communication of this and wanted to send me to stay 45 min away from my group. I sent her a screen shot and then she found me a place closer that was very outdated, no ocean views, smelled like smoke, didn’t have secure WiFi so I was unable to work. I tried to call her several times and text with no response. The experience was horrible overall.

Beautiful View!
The stay was pleasant. The view is absolutely fantastic! I would have enjoyed a nice home cooked meal during my stay. However, there is no stove in the unit. That was kind of a bummer. Also, there is a very steep and narrow stair case to the beach. Although, it was a nice workout going up and down the steep stair case. But, if you're an older couple that has a hard time getting around I wouldn't suggest this rental.

Needs some improvements
Since we arrived after sunset, we passed by the property at least 3 times before finding it. There needs to be lighting or a sign saying this is Driftwood Beach Guest House. The instructions for the code to the gate was backwards, and wrong in the first part of the email, it was way down in the notes to use # after the code. Overall, it was clean, but the blankets smelled like old aftershave, & the entire place could use a deep clean. I found it odd there were mattress protectors on the beds, but that's ok, we still slept very well. The stairs were VERY dangerous & not up to safety regulations. This is my first time using this booking service, and I was surprised to see how much I had to pay upfront before arriving. I will continue to use the competitor's service instead. PRO: The location & view is AMAZING!

Very comfortable with a great view. Convenient location. We liked the virtual tour which gave us a good idea of what to expect. The access to the beach was too difficult for some of us down very long steep narrow steps with a rope rail. We did have a bit of difficulty with the entry gate.

My sister's and I needed this getaway. Very quiet and cozy. The layout of the mother-in-law quarters was different. But was described in the details with pictures. There needs to be a deep clean done but overall it was clean to the eye. We would go again.

Its everything they said... our bad for not reading the description. No stove or dishwasher. The downstairs bedroom is the living room, nothing in seal rock so we spent $90 on food that was microwave friendly or would fit in the tiny fridge. We will never stay here again 😞

Overall the place is nice. We saw a pretty sunset through the large upstairs window. It would be friendlier with a living room facing the ocean, not beds in all rooms. An oven, or at least a stove top would be helpful.

House and location were marvelous, and we enjoyed every minute we were there.
We spent time on the beach walking, watching the surf and sky from the house ,(before the clouds rolled in with the fog. the stars put on quite a show,). We'd come back in a minute.

Pay attention to details
There's cameras everywhere. I was excited about having a secluded property with stairs leading to the beach. My son (a senior in highschool) was not supposed to come, but last minute arrangements with his school, allowed me to take him. I booked for 5. I have rented many beach houses before and not the first time I ended up with a guest or two. Not like I host wild parties. I never thought it was a big deal. Got a knock from a very friendly maintenance guy asking about the 6th person. I explained my situation and he was kind enough to not make a big deal out of it. I got a call the following day from the manager, saying that the owner have been watching the cameras and saw 6 people. And said, we are in violation of city code or something to that effect. He stated the owner would ignore the code if I pay an extra $/night (VRBO would not allow cost posted). That's when I realized it is fishy. They are evicting us for violation of a code, but would let us stay for extra $/night? I booked another beach house. In Newport and off we went and had the time of our lives.. The manager said I will get reimbursed, but frankly I didn't care if we didn't (which I didn't and it's been almost two weeks). What mattered is I get to spend quality time with my family and not being watched by some creeper. I have two daughters with me and their friends. Oh fyi, the place advertised is deceiving. It's a small guest house. No living room. Tiny fridge. No stove. No oven. One tiny bathroom. The property could have been amazing, but pay attention to details of the listing.

Not exactly as we expected
Not exactly a guest 'house'. No living room, instead a double bed, an ill-equipped kitchen (no stove top, no freezer in small refrigerator, no dinner plates, only cereal bowls, no serving bowls - not meant for 'real' cooking). You can watch the ocean from upstairs or patio/deck however not practical when cold and raining. Walks on the beach were a highlight.

Beautiful secluded property right on the beach. Close to cute small towns and only 15 min from Newport. No oven or cooktop (as stated in the listing so no surprises there) brought our instant pot and we’re good to go. Would highly recommend.

The television situation was beyond frustrating. If I had 0 tech ability, other tenants would probably not been able to figure the maze out. 1. Should a place have the ability to make coffee? Answer, yes. 2. Was a working coffee pot on the counter? No 3. Did the television work. No. No television was ever available for typical stations. It took a very long time for us / me, to figure out how to get even netflix on. Good grief, how is this even possible. If we are to rent such a place... is it not the most fundamental among fundamentals to have coffe and TV available? Further, the internet was so bad, that the "spin" went on and on and on... even when we were attempting to watch netflix (since not TV was available). Good grief, such crap. Lastly, we were the cleanest tenants you ever had right? This with all of the signs over how you expect us to be so clean? Good grief.... do you part and maybe your next tenants will be as amenable. You may be surprised... some are not. This coming from us, landlords for 40 years. Good luck.

What a view!
Pleasing stay in driftwood, a little strange being connected to the main house but all in all the view and beach access was worth it. The guest house needs a little TLC with a couple of items like the bathroom door that is very tight a few gouges in the down stairs bedroom wall and some stains in the carpets, but those thing did not detract from the location and other amenities. All in all a great stay and a wounderfull property.

Perfect for family of 5, nice beach...no ac... house very warm in afternoon and evening. But for late sept was ok. Only two rolls of TP, plan on bringing an extra roll if your staying with a family. Otherwise perfect, sad to leave, but will definitely come back!

I’m sure your cleaning person Jessica did the best she could however perhaps management needs to do a better job training or giving her a job description that includes the table in the breezeway and the entrance to our guest house there were food scraps dirty cushions sand all over the doorway and hair from a pet? and that was before we came inside none of the shelves were cleaned or dusted, like just setting our stuff down it was obvious nothing had been touched. Check underneath the twin bed is dirty Kleenex and leftover snack bags I did not remove those I just discovered that this morning while preparing to leave and the kitchen sink was also not to clean plus crumbs under the oven and table floor. I don’t want anyone to lose their job but just please instead of just a once over especially in the current environment were cleanliness and sanitation is so important that was definitely not as advertised just to let you know I don’t usually complain or give any bad reviews about places because I understand sometimes things just slip. We travel all over the world and rent apartments some in villages and this wasn’t the cleanest environment to go into especially when we paid a cleaning fee with our rate. Anyway thanks again for a great location we enjoyed the privacy overall at your guest house.

Perfect place
Very comfortable, clean, quiet with fantastic views of the ocean. Surrounded by beautiful gardens and lush scenery, this is the perfect place for relaxing and getting away from it all. A short walk to the beach and tide pools. Incredible views of the ocean from the windows and calming sound of the waves. The owners are very friendly, kind, generous and helpful. We’ll definitely be back!

Just short of perfection
Comfortable, cozy, warm space: check Well stocked with necessities and having everything in working order: check Gorgeous ocean views: check Walkable and empty beach with cool rock formations: check Friendly and welcoming host: check Location and nearness to excellent restaurants in Seal Beach (Yuzen Japanese) and Waldport (Grand Central Pizza): check Quibbles? It’s a bummer having only a hotel-sized mini refrigerator without a freezer compartment when the icepack you used to keep your stuff cold in your cooler is no longer cold two days later for the trip home. The convection oven worked great though in baking the potatoes we brought along. The stairs to the beach, all 73 of them, are steep but very sturdy with a hand rail rope to cling to. We loved our stay here. Seal Beach is a gem and so is this guest cottage.

Picture Perfect.
We needed a cool getaway from our AZ heat and wanted to be on the beach to listen to ocean waves rolling onto the shore. The photos on VRBO perfectly represented the property. Each room was stocked with all items- more than expected. The owners were delightful hosts, invisible but available, friendly and knowledgeable. We used “Driftwood” as our base to explore up and down the coast. If we could make any recommendation it would be that the little refrigerator had a small freezer compartment for making ice cubes.
