Toucan Cottage
Loved it. Rode bikes, only found two with air, but that is all we needed. Bathroom door would not close, needed planing. Kitchen cabinets had no handles, but I figured with a stove there had to be pots and pans and I opened from bottom. This was just curiosity as I did no cooking. We enjoyed every minute, except it was 96 every day(I am sure it was the same at home. Impressed with comeback of Sanibel and friendliness of people. Also there were no political signs! We loved restaurants -Doc Fords and Rosalitas. Breakfast at Jerry's Market Cantina!

Great little place!
This is a great little place in the heart of the East end of Sanibel. Would definitely stay again. Doesn’t have a hair dryer but otherwise had everything we needed to enjoy our time on Sanibel. Great to be back on the island!

Very nice place for 3 or 4 day trip.
Having a refrigerator and microwave made it perfect. Staying in a quiet neighborhood on Sanibel Island convenient to the beach, the bay, and everything. They even had bicycles that we used!

Sanibel Island vacation
Check in and property was fine. However, four days into our vacation we were under a mandatory evacuation due to Hurricane Ian. We left the Island Tuesday morning and will not return because the Island is destroyed including the causeway leading to it. We are now left trying to recoup money we paid for this trip.

Beautiful location, but bikes were broken
While our stay was in a beautiful location and was exactly as pictured, it wasn’t exactly as described. We mainly booked this location with the thought that there was going to be bikes available to get around the island (since it advertised that). We understand that bikes can break but we informed the host on Friday and she said there would be someone by to fix the bikes. Unfortunately, the bikes were still broken in the same spot until Monday morning when we left. It was a little disappointing since that was a major reason why we booked this place instead of another. Other than that, we enjoyed the room.

Less than ideal accommodations
we arrived after midnight due to flight delays. When we got to the cottage the lockbox was open and no key to be found. We messaged the manager and fortunately the response was quick and someone came to find the key under the mat.. have used Arbnb before and never had this happened. The place lacked some basic items. Such as hand soap and shampoo/conditioner. We had to go and buy some hand soap.. The stove isn’t working and the light under the cabinets isn’t working either. The glass door to the patio is stuck. The bikes! Omg. They have seen better days. They are in awful condition. I found only 1 bike in proper condition. The others: the saddles are not adjustable. Either the saddle post clamps are so rusty they are stuck or simply don’t tighten ! The pedals in one of the bikes doesn’t work as if the cassette or chainring are so worn out the cranks slip as you try to pedal. Another bike had a flat tire..

We had a great stay!
This cute little property is well maintained and was really comfy for our short stay. The only thing I'd say is that I wished it was closer walking distance to the beach. We drove the car because we had a lot of stuff to carry. Other than that perfect A++!!

My New Vitamin Sea
Stayed in Toucan 4. The description and pictures were spot on this property. It was very clean and newly updated. They provided equipment to take to the beach like loungers and wagons to walk the short distance to the beach. The gas grill was another great perk. There are many restaurants close by and the service was really good. Great property management and excellent maintenance (Luke), really took care of any issues in a snap. There had been a really bad storm a few days before we arrived and the area was still recovering from outages. We called maintenance for help and they took care of us immediately. We definitely want to go back again next year. We found our Happy Spot!

No WIFI
The condo was clean and beautiful! GREAT LOCATION...But NO WIFI!! We were in #4 and the WIFI would not show up. This wouldn't have been such an issue but we also had NO cell service. The email stated we did not need a password when in fact we did. I called the management company when we arrived and they said they would contact the owner and it had to do with needing a WIFI extender. The girl on the phone suggested we walk to the back of the property to get connected. Great...Except it only works in the back of the property. She said they would get back to me. NO ONE EVER GOT BACK TO ME. I emailed the owner and explained needing a password and not getting WIFI in the room. She replied to my email with just the wifi password...NOTHING else. I emailed 2 more times and still NO wifi... BAD COMMUNICATION> We sat in our car at the beach during a storm, cause sitting at the condo with no internet access sucks. To me having a relaxing weekend means I get to use my phone and surf the internet and social media. I was looking for mindless!! I like the wind down time in the evening with some mindless activity. Listen, if someone would have gotten back to me and acknowledged my issue I wouldn't be so annoyed. If you do not care about poor communication or wifi, stay here cause everything else was great.

Hi and thanks for the review. We are so sorry about the wifi, as mentioned there was large storm, lightning struck a transformer and took out all of the properties internet. the electric company and cable company was out trying to remedy things as swiftly as possible. Unfortunately it did take a few days. We apologize for this mother nature created event.

Beautiful Sanibel
We loved our stay in Sanibel! Toucan Cottage was super cute and just the right amount of living space for a romantic getaway. The kitchenette served us well for breakfasts each day. The location was close to the beach and the Lighthouse. The bikes were an added bonus to explore the island.

Amazing time!
Super clean super nice. Great location next to Lighthouse Cafe and a few shops. You can walk to the beach or borrow the bikes they have on property. Easy parking. The only minor complaint would be the smallish TV due to the room being quite big. Overall a great place and would definitely come back! Great communication from management as well.

Pleasant Weekend
This was a cute property and perfect for just the two of us. We stayed over Memorial Day weekend and it couldn’t have been more perfect. The beach was a short walk and very easy to get to. The cottages are on the East end of the island about 1/2 a mile from the Lighthouse. The unit was clean and had everything we needed. The decor was simple and just what you’d expect from a beach cottage. Just a warning, though…the bed is hard. It wasn’t so hard that I couldn’t sleep, but if you tend to be more sensitive to such things, might want to keep that in mind. All in all great place to stay!

Great location!
Cottage was just right for the two of us and perfect location for a laid back beach vacation. Shops, and great food and ice cream just a short walk from the front door. We loved the Lightning Cafe for a hearty breakfast after spending early morning on beach for sunrise and shelling. We used the bikes to get around the nearby area and everything else on island was easily accessible by car.

Great Value in Sanibel!!!
Great location near shops and beaches - can bike to everything. Bikes need a bit of work, they are rusty, etc. Nice to have access to the bikes, beach wagons, chairs, etc but the laundry being coin operated was a really inconvenience. With this much included, laundry really should be included as well (just add $10 to everyone’s stay). Otherwise really great time and will come back!

Good location. Loved having the bikes and wagons for our use. It would of been nice to instructions on the electric burners, hung up by the appliance.. More towels, paper towels, toilet paper. We were given 1/4 rolls for our stay. We had to buy some . Was very nice having walkable icecream and cafe and gift shopping.

Great Vacation!
Our stay was great. Our A/C had an issue (our unit was Toucan #4) the first night but straightened out the next day. Could’ve used instructions for the glass cook top (thank God for YouTube) Bicycles need servicing but we managed. Overall we had a great experience! Loved the property!

We stayed at the Toucan cottage for a week. It was very clean, quiet and quaint. We loved that there were bikes and a laundry facility on site. Very close to a fabulous shelling beach and Sanibel’s historic lighthouse. Management was quick to answer the phone and any questions we had. I’d highly recommend to anyone!

I liked the cottage experience; it felt more private than a typical hotel. Had a minor hiccup with the AC which was easily resolved (do not set it to below 73 F or the coils will freeze). We would recommend this to a friend.

A charming getaway
We loved the grounds the property was on. It had such a variety of tropical trees and just so many amazing birds. We loved laying on the hammock and patio chairs and enjoying the quite and peace around us. The bikes, cooler and beach chairs they offered was great. It was so helpful since we flew down.

Looking for an inexpensive short stay for a wedding and this was perfect! Bike riding, walking to the beach, eating, shopping all within easy access and even going for a drive was perfect location.

Great stay
We had a great time, and enjoyed our lovely room as well as daily use of the bikes! Kim was easy to contact, kind, and helpful. Easy access to the beach- just a 5 min bike ride. Would definitely stay here again!
