Enjoy an action-packed vacation of year-round sporting activities at Saalbach-Hinterglemm Ski Resort. The resort sits in the Glemm Valley, which is part of the Austrian Alps. It’s encompassed by three striking mountain ranges, including the majestic Kitzbühler Alps. Make the most of the resort’s excellent facilities as you enjoy the various activities offered by the winter Ski Circus. Return in summer to hike, bike and swim amid a breathtaking landscape of alpine pastures, rugged peaks and fields of wildflowers.
In the winter months the resort is famous for being one of the Alps’ largest ski areas. Discover 124 miles (200 kilometers) of slopes, accessible via more than 50 lifts. There are runs suitable for all levels of skier and beginners can take lessons with qualified instructors.
The fun doesn’t stop on the slopes, either. Watch experienced skiers and snowboarders perform tricks at the Snowpark. Join guided snowshoeing and backcountry tours. Try ice-karting, snowmobiling and tobogganing. Enjoy a romantic sleigh ride or admire unrivaled views from treetop pathways, which open year-round.
The adventures continue in the summer months, too. As the snow melts the mountains bloom with colorful wildflowers. Ride the lifts to the mountaintops, where you’ll find trails of varying distances and difficulties. Choose to explore on foot or mountain bike. Swim in an outdoor pool, challenge yourself on a rope course or travel above the trees on a zip-line.
After a busy day of outdoor pursuits you might want to relish in some après-ski activities. Find a varied selection of cocktail bars, pubs, nightclubs and live music venues. Sample regional delicacies, such as kasnocken, which is like macaroni and cheese, and speckknödel (bacon dumplings), at the many restaurants. Time your visit to coincide with cultural events, including December’s Rave on Snow music festival and July’s GlemmRide: Bike Festival Saalbach.
