“The hotel is very convenient”

The hotel was price-quality in balance. The service was great. The only inconvenience was that they were busy remodeling and the tv was only portuguese.

“good location and friendly staff”

The hotel's location is great, just across the Copacabana Beach, the breakfast buffet is very good, and staff is friendly and helpful. on the other side the building is old, (beautiful architecture) and it seems that no serious maintenance has been made on it for years, room's size is very good but the furnishing is poor and not of good quality. even though the hotel in general is clean, it really needs a lot of work. Internet service is expensive but fast. The surrounding neighborhood is nice at day, but in the night there's a lot of prostitution in the area. If you are in a low budget and traveling by your self maybe this is a good option, but I do not recommend it for a family trip.

“FALLING APART (PARTLY UNDER RECONSTRUCTION)”

1. There is no signage or lights to indicate the Hotel or its name; it looks like a residential building. 2. The hotel, while staffed with very nice and helpful people, is partially rotting. 3. The entire mezzanine is under construction (not remodeling, construction)! 4. There was no power one day from 11am until 830pm. (I had to shower to cold water after a sticky day at the beach). 5. The furniture, beds, linens and towels in the rooms are below sub-standard; barely basic, and unacceptable for the amount paid. 6. I asked to extend my stay; I was charged three times the amount listed by Expedia. 7. Internet is slow and double what you'd pay in a 5 star hotel in the US.
