We did not have a bad stay, but for the cost there are better places to stay in Richmond. Little things were frustrating such as our TV remote didn’t work, there is no fan in the bathroom, and the bed was not very comfortable. The public spaces in the Quirk are worth visiting, but I don’t think we will stay there again.

The really enjoyed the overall aesthetic of Quirk. We managed to get a room upgrade to one of the rooms with a balcony, living area and a king-sized bed and it was amazing! The rooftop area was really cute for photos. We were able to walk around the area to find food and even when we couldn’t walk to a place (because it was too far), the Lyft rides were pretty inexpensive. I would definitely stay here again on another visit to Richmond.

Lobby and public areas get a 5 star. The rooms are just okay so I would give them 3 stars. They were very basic and nothing exciting as the lobby area and public areas. The hotel was clean and the staff was friendly enough.

I found the property to be a bit underwhelming compared to how it was advertised. Some room fixtures were a bit rundown, the floor was dirty, there was barely any natural light (and the small, high window looked directly into a balcony from another room), the beds were very small, and the ceiling leaked. The area is okay; it's centrally located but there are other areas of Richmond that I would recommend.

What’s great find! Not only is the Quirk in the middle of Richmond’s arts district but they also have their own gallery inside the hotel with great art at all price levels.

A very nice stay - the staff (from front desk, valet, cleaning, etc.) are helpful and friendly. Room (Room 514h had very high ceilings and great view of Richmond (two ginormous windows). Only recommendation is to have more hangers (only one free hanger and two hangers with robes on them). Free bottle of water. Mini fridge is super cold - turns water to ice. Beds are comfy. Room is quiet - cannot hear other rooms or street traffic.

My particular room had a small window that I couldn’t see out of, so it made the room somewhat enclosed. That would be my only complaint - everything else was exceptional and I loved my stay.

For the price we paid, it wasn’t worth it. We had hair in our shower on arrival, the walls were super thin- I could hear the dogs walking around next door. The ventilation in the bathroom didn’t work and two of the lights were out. When we booked, the room was supposed to have a soak in tub and we received a room with just a shower. The staff members were okay, they weren’t super friendly but weren’t rude. The area didn’t seem great. It’s a cute concept of a hotel, just isn’t worth the price they charge. We will not be booking again.

The valet guy (Mitchell???) was a rockstar. There was a little space on the side street that he parallel parked for me. We have to leave at 3 am tomorrow morning. I tried myself to do it and came close but too tight. He is an EXPERT at parking.

We stayed here while attending an Expo at the convention center. Parking is on the street but there was not a problem with ample parking. Check in was very easy, the hotel is very artsy and the decor inside is lovely. It's a very welcoming feel as you walk in, dining options at and around the bar are nicely done. Staff are very friendly, courteous and helpful with any needs. The room we had was on the 7th floor, it is tastefully furnished and had a balcony. This is a great location to be in and will definitely look at staying here again when visiting Richmond.

This hotel just misses the mark. At over £450 per night for a double room we expected more. We could hear the activities and conversations of our neighbours throughout the night through the walls. It is well situated in the Art District and a free bus runs the length of Broad Street. I wouldn't book again though.

It was an okay stay, nothing luxury about this place. Sent me a welcome text and told me to contact anything I need, I asked for a sewing kit, but no one ever responded to my text.

Nice & unique hotel
We stay here for my son’s orientation at VCU and love it. The hotel is very clean & artsy. Services by reception & restaurant staff were great. Our room on the 6th floor was very nice: clean, roomy with high ceiling. Would stay here again if we come back in town in the future.

The room door deadbolt was broken. There was no cell service in the room so I had to go outside to check text messages and to make calls. The staff told me that even they have poor or no reception. They now do valet by cell phone which is ridiculous because you have to go outside to request your car. I have stayed at the Quirk about 5 times when I am in Richmond on business but never again
