1 Elevator did not work. Parking lot is shared with another hotel next door and the weekend was busy, so had to park really far away. Breakfast buffet was standard stuff, but only one waffle batter dispenser, and both days sausage was awful.
Our room smelled like wet dog even though they don’t allow pets. Front desk gave us air freshener and said that was the best they could do. Our tv remotes didn’t work.
The hotel is nestled in a quiet and secluded place, away from the city hustle and bustle. It was clean. Had friendly staff. The special needs room was spacious and had clean bedding. No smelly pillows or bedsheets. Plenary of clean towels. Good option for price. Recommend.
All the staff were particularly friendly. Kids loved the pool, though it was very cool, and hot tub. We really liked the suite setup allowing the kids to go to bed while the adult could relax and watch some TV without disturbing them. However, I planned to utilize the pullout couch in the suite and found it unbearably uncomfortable. There was almost no padding covering the springs. Ended up closing it and sleeping on the narrow unopened couch.

apologies and will make it more convenient in future stay
Check in went smooth but when we got to our room it smelled terribly of pot, ugh.
We reported it to front desk then went out to dinner. When we return the smell was still everywhere. Such a shame as the property was really nice but the smell was a huge distraction in a non smoking facility.
My family of 6 stayed there. On our way home to MI, my 16 year old son tells me he left his wallet there. It had over $50 cash in it. I called the front desk and spoke to Wanda. Wanda was able to locate the wallet and get it back to me. Not $1 was missing out of it. Its not too often you find people honest that would do that, but Wanda did. So BIG thank you to Wanda for being honest and helping me so much.
The beds were comfortable. There was some room for us to spread out when all 4 of us were in the room. Breakfast was above average. Close to restaurants and shopping.
We liked the layout of the room we were in room 117, the only downfall of the room is that it is so close to the elevator that you hear it operate. I don't think there is anything you can do about that but overall we had a nice stay.

We enjoyed the quiet atmosphere, not a lot of traffic and the staff was very friendly.
The manager is amazing. Shes very kind and definitely cares about her guests safety. In dealing with another lady at the front desk, i was taken away by the hospitality! All yhe staff here have been so helpful and kind and housekeeping is soooo sweet! Clean, affordable, safe, convenient! 10 out of 10 recommend.
This hotel is my go-to whenever I visit Virginia. However, I wasn't as impressed during my last stay. The room we stayed in had a few tiny dead insects (flies and tiny bugs) on the walls and the air unit was really loud. The bed was pretty uncomfortable (lumpy), and I was surprised when they didn't have any extra blankets or pillows. Overall, it's still a decent hotel but I probably won't be as quick to book here again in the future.
