We had a very disappointing experience with this house, as well as with the rental management customer service (Vacasa).
We were a party of four families with kids, 13 people willing to spend a fun long weekend together. We had chosen this house because of the nice pictures and fabulous location. All seemed great for an unforgettable experience.
To start with, we were disappointed when we walked into the house. The pictures were far from the truth of what they had advertised; the house was in very poor condition, with cheap materials and terrible repairs, and the rooms were way smaller than what the pictures showed. But the location was great and we were in good spirit and decided to put up with it.
Just the morning after we settled, we noticed significant leaking from upstairs bathrooms dripping through the ceiling into the living room, right next to where we were having breakfast. We immediately reported the issue to Vacasa, who promised to send a representative and a maintenance crew. When we came back after three hours, we were shocked to see that nobody had been there, and the leak had gotten much worse. We had to put buckets to collect the water dripping from the ceiling and rearranged the whole living room area to prevent the kids from falling due to the slippery / flooding floors. We called Vacasa multiple times on Saturday afternoon until they finally sent a maintenance guy who, according to his own words, knew “little about plumbing.” The guy advised not to use ANY of the four bathrooms in the upper floors during the remainder of the weekend, which we found completely unacceptable, as we were left with two restrooms.
We requested somewhere else to stay, as we were being left with a flooding living room, an unsafe situation with children around (the ceiling was at risk of collapsing), and two small bathrooms for a party of 13 people. During the rest of our stay, nobody called back or showed any interest in checking on us.
During or after the stay, we couldn’t get a hold of Vacasa at all, as nobody answered the phone. The whole situation utterly ruined our vacation. Not only the house was in an admissible condition to be rented out, but the way Vacasa handled it was completely unresponsible. And the worst part is that Vacasa knew this was coming, as we later realized that the pictures in the advert already showed humidity on the ceiling of the living room.
