Redondo Beach

Travel Guide
Redondo Beach featuring street scenes and signage
Relax on some of the best sandy beaches in Los Angeles County and participate in many outdoor sporting activities.

Redondo Beach is one of the most popular beach cities on Santa Monica Bay. Try water-based activities, including kayaking, surfing and paddleboarding. Visit a historical museum and see documents, artifacts and photographs relating to the city. Enjoy fresh seafood and international cuisines in a pier restaurant with spectacular views of the coastline.

Take a self-guided tour of Redondo Beach Pier and King Harbor. Spot a California gray whale on a whale-watching charter or learn about marine life in an aquarium. Redondo Beach also features Riviera Village, an excellent shopping area with over 300 stores, including top-rated restaurants, bars and independent fashion boutiques.

SEA Lab is a marine conservation facility that aims to educate visitors on environmental awareness and ecology. Feed fish in a tide pool or tour the lab with a volunteer guide. Discover coastal plants growing in the native plant nursery and learn how SEA Lab volunteers work to restore local habitats.

Take a short walk to Seaside Lagoon from the center of Redondo Beach. This large saltwater lagoon is located on King Harbor. Play beach volleyball, go swimming and relax on the sand. Book a sport fishing charter in the nearby Redondo Beach Marina and take on some of California’s best game fish, including white seabass and barracuda.

Learn about this remarkable city in the Redondo Beach Historical Museum. The museum is located in the 1904 Queen Anne House and features many artifacts relating to the beach city and its surrounding areas. Take a scheduled group or self-guided tour of the museum.

Drive to this beach city about 8 miles (13 kilometers) from Los Angeles International Airport. The city has a range of upscale waterfront hotels and less expensive beach inns.

Redondo Beach is the perfect destination for visitors looking for a relaxing coastal atmosphere with a wide range of outdoor activities.

Japanese style fried chicken. Karaage was crunchy outside and moist inside. Finely chopped cabbage salad with miso dressing was a refreshing compliment to the fried chicken. This place is a family owned and just opened a month ago near my house. A great addition in my neighborhood.

Riviera Village

You'll enjoy the beaches and restaurants in Riviera Village. You might want to make time for a stop at Torrance Beach or Palos Verdes Peninsula.

Nice walking along the beaches. For the most part traffic in the area is light. Laid back feeling. Lots of restaurant choices.
