First impression is excellent, but 2 things are really poor. 1)the USB charger is not functioning and discharge the phone battery, 2)the shower is too weak and the hot water control is “hard to handle”

My flight was delayed by almost 2 hours, any longer would have meant I would miss the last train from paddington to London, I called the reception and was put at ease by the person, I think it was Nick, reassured me there would be someone available to book me in.
As promised, was met at reception, quick and easy check in, comfortable bed, it was a great night's sleep.

Spent night here on way to LHR. Hotel is close to station and Railair. Loads of shopping and restaurants nearby. Large bath and large shower in room. Difficult to use TV if you are a techniphobe like me. Would recommend.

Club room was a very comfortable room. We struggled with the pillows as they went a bit flat on us but the mattress was nice. There were Nespresso facilities with a variety of pods. The Ferrero Roche was a particularly nice touch. There was an iron, ironing board and kettle in the room. The TV is great with chromecast and freeview. The rate included breakfast which was incredible value for money. The food was delicious and the continental offering was superb. Really excellent value for money.

We arrived very late, due to a flight delay. The hotel ensured that we were able to check in. The room was very well appointed and clean. Breakfast was excellent with a good choice.

Very nice and friendly staff. The breakfast is delicious with varieties and the place is so quite. I recommend. The bus station is just there and 3 min away walk from train station. Amazing.
Just on tv,they could think of replacing with digital tv which can allow access to Youtube , Netflix etc.

Unpleasant stay and health concern
we were immediately confronted with a strong smell of marijuana or cannabis fumes in our room. It is crucial for a hospitality establishment to ensure a smoke-free environment . The pillow were uncomfortable and were unsupportive, making it incredibly challenging for us to get a good night’s sleep. it was difficult to get our breakfast table and had to get checked back to the recipient to confirm our breakfast booking.

Room was tired. Shower was scalding hot then freezing cold randomly. Toilet seat cracked in half. USB sockets didnt work. No mini bar or fridge. Pushed to not take room service. Really for the suggest class of hotel I wouldnt recommend or stay their again.

Room was too hot and heating and a/c control did not work to control the heating. Cold water tap was running warm water. Had to leave this running for about 6 mins before water actually turned cold. Have stayed in hotel many times before and not experienced these problems. Considering price I paid £282 (Half board) the quality of room was really not worth it. Had an awful night sleep. Also note for half board I’d specifically asked what I’d be charged extra for and was told drinks only plus supplement for steak. When asked to sign, the bill was for full value which I was told was just the way they do things then next day found that I’d been charged for service on full value of food and drinks on top. If I’d been told this at the time I’d have been ok paying, but felt a bit scammed as I’d specifically asked. At reception they then spent about 20 mins to explain and remove the extra charge which then meant no time for breakfast which I’d effectively paid as it was in the half board rate. All in all very disappointing and not sure if I’ll return again. Quite sad as used to be my favourite place to stay in Reading :-(

Just across road from train station & in the town centre breakfast was great👍
The hotel is nice the issues we had
1. Very cold hotel on first night but reception was great put extra heater in room 👍 the bar area was cold as well.
2. Bar staff charged staff gratuity on bar meals when ordering at bar when asked why cost of burger meals was higher we were just told it’s the gratuity 😩
All in all still worth staying and will go back at some point

Rooms looked quite tired/tatty decor wise and black furniture was quite oppressive. As was the window that was blocked up with some sort of scaffolding.
