Thanks so much for the 5 star review, I am so glad you enjoyed the house and all that it has to offer. Thank you for being responsible and abiding by our house rules. For our future guests, we ask that you leave the house as you would if you had stayed at your friend’s house. If you have moved furniture put it back and if you have pulled out games put them back on the shelves. Put the dishes in the dishwasher and start it before you leave. Our Cleaners will do the rest. The same as your home, you have to put your garbage in a garbage bag and recycling in the recycle bag (we do the recycling sorting so you don’t have to). Previously, we had limited the number of garbage bags but I have now removed the limit from our rules. We put it in place because we found people were bringing their garbage to our house for us to dispose of. I was surprised to hear that 4 adults produced more than 2 bags of garbage on a weekend stay. You could have just called Janet and she would have accommodated you. Felix, in the future if you would like to avoid rules like picking up after yourselves and meeting the restrictions the county has placed on homeowners and renters, I suggest you stay at a hotel. It’s the same price per bedroom as my house although you won’t have a 5,000 square foot house with a movie room, pool table, recreation room, extra large kitchen dining and living room or a beautiful outdoor fireplace and acreage to enjoy. A hotel will provide you with a bed, a chair and table and a bathroom, and you won’t have to worry about any rules. Internet Limitation: because we are out in the country we don’t have the Fibre internet connection. We have now been able to increase the internet allowance and there will no longer be a charge when you go over. To future guests, Loyalist House is a beautiful spacious home full of amenities but there are responsibilities that go along with renting vacation homes. You can view the house rules on the website before you book. You can call me and ask me about any of them which is what most people do when they have concerns. In this case I also sent the house rules to Felix within 8 hours of his booking (which are the same that are posted on the website), so he could have cancelled without penalty if he didn’t like the rules. Felix, I am disappointed that you only complained about the house rules after your stay and in a public forum, instead of contacting me before or during your stay to work through your issues.

Hi Mandi, I’m so sorry that your experience at Loyalist House was not worthy of a 5 star rating. My team works very hard to prepare the house and if you found crumbs in the sink and on the floor by the sink upon your arrival I want to assure you that our practice is to leave the house in perfect condition for your arrival. I’m wondering if someone from your group emptied a Tim Hortons bag into the sink and you assumed the crumbs were there before you arrived? Just a possibility because our team does not bring food into the house so it is a mystery to us as to how the crumbs got there. Rest assured my team are my friends who are cleaning and hotel industry professionals and not random strangers that I hire through a cleaning company. At the beginning of your stay we provide our guests with my house manager’s cell phone and my cell phone number and strongly encourage our guests to reach out to us if there are any issues or problems when they happen so we can quickly resolve it so you get the experience that you deserve. Being in the position of hearing about this problem after your stay is very disappointing to all of us. Again I am sorry that your experience isn’t what hundreds of others have experienced which is a place and experience worthy of a 5 star rating. Sincerely, Valerie Barclay
