I found the breakfasts out of the ordinary to the point of taking a picture and showing it to my wife and friends they were jealous. But on my third night I found parking my can was a bit of a struggle. One car was taking up too much space .but I managed.Gerhard was an exemplary host. Overall it was a wonderful stay.

Unfortunately, my accommodation was dble booked due to wedding. The owner, notified me day of my arrival. However, he quickly found me an excellent alternative. All ended well.

Old charming house. Everything is fine there. The owner really takes care of you. Two side notes : - the pool was not working, which is not a problem but it wasn't advertised. - the air conditioner is really loud It's a great place to stay

Thank you for your comments. The pool is working, and has been repainted - which requires several days of clear weather - which we have not had. Also opening a pool with a new pump and checking all of the plumbing etc. etc. takes some time. Thank you for your kind words.

Colonel Inn stay
Was on business trip and stayed for three nights. Nice area for walking after long working days! Good service and breakfast in the hotel. Fair places around to eat. It is old-fashioned place. Not like regular "chain" hotels.

This place is... wow. The pictures don’t reveal all the charm and craftsmanship that this house has. Gerhardt, the owner, was so accommodating and friendly. He was quick to reveal the history of the house and Prescott. A visit to Fort Wellington on a re-enactors day added to the wonderful time we had.

If you like history you will love this location. Based on a turn of the century home. It may look old but modern conveniences lay underneath. Wonderful food. Worth the stay just for the breakfast. The host is vey knowledgeable. AA story behind every room and piece you see. Would stay again.

My boyfriend and I don't usually do b&b's but we are happy we tried this one. We had the loft room with the jetted tub and fireplace. It was very nice, clean and relaxing. Breakfast in the morning was yummy and Mike is very welcoming.

Had a wonderful weekend the staff were helpful and friendly. Unfortunately some of the town's people were not so friendly with my boyfriend who can only speak French. All in all I enjoyed my stay and will go back in the summer. Lots more to do in summer.

The owner, Mike, was very helpful and accommodating. We had to arrive late, and this wasn't a problem. Excellent breakfast, and most amenities were walking distance.

It was nice . Really awkward going in and out as the old couple lives there. They are really nice freindly people their breakfast is amazing. Its quiet which is good.

Thank you for your response. BnB's are such that the owner or manager lives must be on the premises 24 hours to ensure safety of our guests. Interesting regarding 'old couple' - we are not aware of any 'old' couples who live here.

the old house built in 1860's was remodeled at the turn on the century. it was in absolutely perfect condition. Really an amazing place. The room we were in was a little small but we managed. Breakfast provided by the B& B was definitely worth to stay for.

An amazing gracious old home built by Col Jessup many years ago. Lovely wood paneling and general ambience. - even a back stairs. Beds were comfortable and the room warm and cosy. The bathroom was down the hall which was OK for us, as we were the only guests that night, but it could get jammed up if all the rooms were taken! Everyone was friendly and breakfast was excellent. We would stay there again!

Thank you for your kind posting. Note. The house was originally owned by Isabella MacDonnell, wife of Alexander MacDonnell - who then willed it to her daughter Flora, who sold it to Mr. Denis Higgin's wife in 1908 who then build on an annex and the carriage house. Most of the manor is still styled according to the architects plans in 1908 - with as built drawings completed in 1910. The blue prints are still in the house today. The manor is being constantly upgraded with authentic 1910 fixtures and furnishings.

Beautiful room with a Kurig coffee maker. Very friendly, knowledgeable and courteous staff. Outstanding breakfast. Beautiful pool although we didn't get a chance to use it. Overall one of the best 'STAY' experiences we have ever had. We will definitely stay here the next time we are in the area.

Prescott’s Lovely Colonel’s Inn.
The stay was very nice. Room was good. I do not like shared bathrooms, as it is a worry when you have to use the toilet, you need to use it and allowing for shower time does not always work. Lovely people, the breakfast was perfect. Very interesting chapter of the Inn, long staircase for my husband, we made it but balance and strength not the best. First time at a B & B.

Nice B&B Just Over Canadian Border
Very old home converted to a B&B. Rooms are comfortable but decorated in a Victorian manner. Service and personal touch are very nice and add to the experience. Breakfast was well done as well.

One of the nicest places I have ever been
I have no words to describe service, kind and gentle people at your service, breakfast rocks, a very cozy 1800's house, very clean and neat. Surprised about washroom's condition, so well maintained. I would give it 10 stars if I could.

Historic Ambience
This is a gorgeous building dating from 1835, with dark wood paneling throughout and rooms on two floors. A breakfast sunroom forms an L from the south side to the front. Mike is an incredibly knowledgeable and friendly host and he and his wife serve an amazing breakfast to your specifications and timing. I shared an updated period bathroom that was spacious and ornate, with a superb rain shower head. The common lounge area is furnished with deep armchairs and strewn with historic artifacts, including a newspaper announcing the opening of the Saint Lawrence Seaway in 1958. Altogether, this was a great place to stay, and less than five minutes walk to Fort Wellington and the river. For golfers, the 75 year old Prescott course is just around the corner, with old growth trees, wide dog-leg fairways, and impeccable greens.

The host, Mike Hudson, was genial and helpful. He let my friend and me store our bicycles overnight in a locked shed for security. He served an excellent, generous breakfast. The inn is an interesting, well-built house from the early 20th century with one-foot-thick stone walls. It's a quick walk to Fort Wellington (a 19th-century British fort worth visiting), the St. Lawrence waterfront, and the local business district. Sometimes there was a wait to use a shared bathroom. All in all, a good place to stay, and reasonably priced.
