not pleased with the pa location

Posted 23-Feb-2015
The room was very small. Expedia said there was an indoor pool and there wasnt one. Breakfast was late getting put out and was only out for about an hour amd when i went to try and get breakfast the lady packed it up as i was trying to get it. Very rude! No parking at all and they did not clean the parking lot after it had snowed. The bed was hard and they only gave us 2 towels and 2 washcloths for a family of 4. I used to like staying here but i doubt i will return.

Disappointed.

Having stayed at other La Quinta locations I expected better than this Pittsburgh location provided. First its difficult to get into. It sits on a hill behind Mcdonalds with 0 signs indicating where the driveway is. Knowing that you're not an on street location you should probably put some form of a sign on the street. Then when you do get up there expect to park far from your room. The lot does not go around the building, there is just one lot in the front that stretches out so far you're never close to your room. When I was there the only door they were allowing people to use was the main entrance. The side doors had signs on them saying please use main entrance making it a guarantee that you will have a long walk from car to room. It snowed while we were there which is expected in February but being on a hill they you would expect them to clean the driveway, salt, plow, something. The truck they had for that purpose never left its parking spot. Don't expect to visit the vending machines here, there are none. The little store they have is a waste and overpriced. The Wi-Fi had its share of issues as well. Worked sometimes and didn't others.

The place was just OK. It's a bit worn out. They could have done a better job with the breakfast -- Sunday morning they really were thin.

Overall the experience was nice. My first time staying at La Quinta and it was good for it's price. Unfortunately we did put the card down to get fresh linen since we stayed a few nights but our room was never clean. And the towels weren't freshened up. I liked that it had a bar inside the hotel and the beds were really comfortable. The continental breakfast was eh.... the bagels were hard and nothing seemed fresh. I would stay in it again if ever in Pittsburgh. Just know what I am getting myself into.

Very dirty!

Posted 9-Feb-2015
Used the mystery hotel feature and for the first time I was let down. Arrived at 11pm on Friday . One of the Beds was unmade. Bathroom was not clean. Toilet paper was empty. Dead fly sitting on the heater. Windows have very thin curtains with no black out/heavy curtains that go fully across. Talked to the general manager on Saturday morning and the problems were NOT fixed on Saturday night when I returned from visiting the city. Will never stay here again! I would recommend a using the mystery hotel feature but ONLY downtown.

Long weekend stay

Posted 9-Feb-2015
Pros: In a populated area, convenient to HWY and restaurants. pharmacy and downtown
Cons: Wifi was slow and difficult to connect. I use Streaming services and i couldn't watch my shows,
Location: Good location. plenty to eat/ easy to downtown and other attractions.
Overall the hotel as greet for he price. You get what you pay for. The breakfast was free and just OK, the rooms was clean, the bed frame was noisy and made noise. The hotel is pet friendly, which is great not many places to really walk to dogs without them getting wet and muddy. Overall I would choose this hotel again. Sometimes the front desk unattended. Not a big deal because i was already checked in

Convenient to North Hills

Posted 4-Feb-2015
Pros: It was convenient to where I was going.
Cons: Breakfast food needs to be improved, I never saw scrambled eggs that that before, the sausage was so over cooked I could not chew it.
The staff was professional and friendly, the room was clean, no hand cream, no shower cap, not enough wash cloths - the elevataors were filthy - the breakfast was terrible.

Nice for shopping

Lots of stores nearby and easily accessible. Staff friendly and very accommodating to requests. Rooms themselves clean but could have used a bit more lighting. Nice that microwave and fridge come standard.
