Nice Midtown Hotel

Posted 14-Apr-2015
Pros: Great Rooms, clean, cool, and very spacious bath. Waffles in the morning!
Cons: maintenance, our jacuzzi didn't turn on, but still made a huge hot water tub for two.
Great place to stay, very close to shopping, parks etc.

Stay away from this LaQuinta!

Posted 23-Mar-2015
Pros: I can't think of one thing nice to comment on.
Cons: A caring attitude of front desk people. Clean rooms. More lighting.
Location: Didn't stay here, drove to Cranberry, PA (10 min. north) and spent the night at Holiday Inn Express which was cleaner cheaper & friendlier.
Upon entering our room, after check-in, a horrible smell of body odor mixed with fast food wafted over us. It was awful. We tried to get past this smell but no circulation could be made in the room to clear it. We hauled all of our stuff down 4 floors and asked for another room. The front desk didn't seem to mind, yet didn't apologize either. The next room had a do not disturb sign on the door handle. So, back down to the front desk we went. They said to ignore the sign the maid forgot to pull it off the door handle. Our third time up 4 floors. The room smelled heavily of Lysol spray - but as we looked in the bathroom the floor was full of dirty towels and the beds were not made. Back down stairs again. The lady at the front desk showed no empathy or compassion. Maybe I am being a drama queen here but seriously? She said, "i was going to come up and tell you I read the maid's logs wrong, it wasn't cleaned". I said we just want to leave and she agreed to reverse the charges. Maybe she was having a bad day? I don't know. The Laquinta is disgusting. Do not book at this hotel for the price they are charging. It is run down and needs to be freshened up. The rooms had to air flow, very cramped, very small and difficult for a family of 4 to be comfortable.

Great hotel close to the travelers needs

Posted 18-Mar-2015
Was great . Some staff needs more advanced customer service training . Improvement on welcoming guest and offering addition assistance . Staff needs to be available at the front desk all the time . Things are well done and organized just minor errors to improve on . Thanks Alex

Pros: Nothing
Location: There was a lot of places to shop.
I have stayed at La Quinta hotels before and this was not to the standard of the ones I stayed at before. From the time I entered, I just did not felt comfortable in the hotel. The first thing I saw when I entered my room was urine in the toilet and the bathtub was black from not being taken care of. I was truly disappointed.

not pleased with the pa location

Posted 23-Feb-2015
The room was very small. Expedia said there was an indoor pool and there wasnt one. Breakfast was late getting put out and was only out for about an hour amd when i went to try and get breakfast the lady packed it up as i was trying to get it. Very rude! No parking at all and they did not clean the parking lot after it had snowed. The bed was hard and they only gave us 2 towels and 2 washcloths for a family of 4. I used to like staying here but i doubt i will return.

Having stayed at other La Quinta locations I expected better than this Pittsburgh location provided. First its difficult to get into. It sits on a hill behind Mcdonalds with 0 signs indicating where the driveway is. Knowing that you're not an on street location you should probably put some form of a sign on the street. Then when you do get up there expect to park far from your room. The lot does not go around the building, there is just one lot in the front that stretches out so far you're never close to your room. When I was there the only door they were allowing people to use was the main entrance. The side doors had signs on them saying please use main entrance making it a guarantee that you will have a long walk from car to room. It snowed while we were there which is expected in February but being on a hill they you would expect them to clean the driveway, salt, plow, something. The truck they had for that purpose never left its parking spot. Don't expect to visit the vending machines here, there are none. The little store they have is a waste and overpriced. The Wi-Fi had its share of issues as well. Worked sometimes and didn't others.

Easy exit to go to Allegheny Hospital. The staff was helpful and personable.
