I made a reservation for a room in Fall of 2023. The room that was scheduled for May 7, 2024 was billed by the hotel on May 3, 2024. A couple of hours before arriving at the hotel I got a text message that Expedia had overbooked the hotel and a reservation was made at a hotel next door, Tru Westgate, Glendale. Tru is worse than a hotel 6, no coffee maker, no dressers, actually no standard features of a modern hotel.

It was our 16th anniversary and had a limited budget and time. The description of the room seemed to fit our needs, however, it wasnt worth the price. Toilet wouldnt flush, shower had a constant drip. Shower curtain was rigged to stay up, you could tell it was previously ripped. Pillows were extremely uncomfortable and had no extras in the room or extra blankets. You could barely hear the tv at raised 56. Sink soap looked used and not wrapped. Breakfast was rubbery and limited drink options.To top it off you had to pay to park on the property. My car was covered with bird crap when we checked out. Very disappointed

I could not give a 5 star rating, we have previously stayed at this location 2 times prior to this weekend, we have always had great customer service including this time around. The only reason we gave it a 4 star was due to the fact that the beds were uncomfortable, but staff reassured us that new mattress’s we coming in May, also, found a small amount of mold in our shower, mold was on the caulking of the tub, not a very big deal, remove old caulking, clean the affected area and lay down some new caulking. Other than that, the entire establishment was clean, and the staff was phenomenal, have to give a huge shout out to Jordan for his help with a small blow up mattress.

First off, out of 3 Phoenix area hotels I stayed at over 2 weeks this trip, this hotel had the best service by far. All the staff that I interacted with were professional and pleasant. This hotel is probably around 15 years old. My room didn't seem to have been renovated since. It was clean but a little beat up. Third floor and could hear footsteps through the ceiling. Location is great for shopping/entertainment and food. Easy access to entire west half of the valley including Surprise, Goodyear and Peoria. I wouldn't hesitate to stay again although, I'd request a top floor room.

Stayed for one night—last stayed here around 5 years ago at which time it was a solid 3 star. Walking in it smelled really musty with cleaner trying to cover it up. Our room was dingy, a/c was loud and it seemed run down. We went in the jacuzzi which was half full of water and dirty. Yuck. I booked because it was $100 cheaper than the Renaissance but I should have booked the Renaissance. We go to Glendale every spring but won’t be back to the Hampton Inn.
