“Value and Location Spells Success”

I have been impressed with the value recieved for the very reasonable price. After looking at the other comments I feel people need to rethink what they are willing to pay. The rooms are clean. Hair dryers/ irons/ etc available on request. Parking needs some patience. Staff are extremely pleasant and courtious. Overall , great location, great value...I recommend this to anyone!

“Ottawa downtown Jewel”

This hotel was in a great location in downtown Ottawa. It was within walking distance to museums, Parliament, shopping (including the Byward Marketplace), restaurants, etc. The staff was helpful with directions, etc. The only downside was if you needed to use your car now and then, it was a little costly to park. There were many choices of parking areas nearby, but one had to be careful to move the car before the meter or time was done. The hotel had a satisfying continental breakfast and a snack time in the afternoon. The beds were comfortable but not the most comfortable depending on one's own idea of comfort. The cleaning crew often did not come until the mid-afternoon which was a little bothersome. But overall, we had a nice stay and even extended our stay in this hotel.

“Very satisfied”

We stayed 4 nights at the Byward Blue Inn. The staff were friendly and helpful. The room was clean and comfortable. We enjoyed the breakfast, and meeting other guests in the common area. The parking was appreciated.

“Wonderful location”

Overall I was very happy with this hotel. The location is excellent, within walking distance of many attractions. This is a smaller hotel with a European feel. All the rooms have balconies; ours overlooked the courtyard. The breakfast , which is included in the price, was very good. This is a hotel for someone who does not want the standard Holiday Inn traditional same everywhere look . There are only about 12 parking places that come with the hotel. Since we stayed midweek this was not a problem. There is another parking lot , a large one, right beside the hotel should you not be able to get a spot. Overall I was extremely satisfied with this hotel and would highly recommend it to anyone who wants an ambiance that is slightly different but delightful.

“Decent-priced hotel in great location”

The hotel is right in the Byward Market, close to the Cathedral, the Parliament, Rideau Centre, museums etc. It's an unbeatable location. The room was quite big and clean, the staff was always nice. We had a balcony (with a table and two chairs, really dusty), but our room was on a side facing other buildings, so no spectacular view. But again, the location is just fantastic. I would definitely recommend this to other travelers.

“Location Location Location”

The hotel was exactly what I expected for the price. I was in Ottawa specifically to go to the National Gallery so being a 10 minute walk from there was perfect. The location at the eastern edge of the market was great - all the convenience of the shops, bars and restaurants but little of the night noise. The inn itself is non-smoking except for on the balconies but I did find that my room smelled of smoke. I opened the balcony door but you might not want to do that in an Ottawa winter.

“I will stay in this hotel again.”

The staff at the front desk are very friendly and helpful. I like the setting of the washroom near the labby. I also like the dinning room very much. The breakfast is good. They even provide afternoon snack in the dinning room. It made me feel like home when I went back to the hotel. It provides a good envirnment for us to discuss our travel plan while having a break. The location is execellent!!!
