Fabulous, characterful hotel in a great location. Room was comfortable, clean, quiet and a good size. Inclusive breakfast was great - lots of choice and excellent quality. All of the staff that I met were really welcoming and helpful. I got a call from the concierge desk a couple of days before I arrived. I asked for some ideas of things to do during my visit, and I received an email shortly after with some great suggestions. Highly recommend!

This is a 5 star hotel with 3 star prices! Exceptional staff, luxurious products and comfortable bedding added to an excellent free breakfast and easy to use in-room electronic interface make this hotel an exceptional value. Situated a stones throw from the central train station and adjacent to the tram station provide easy transportation everywhere in this wonderful cosmopolitan city. Shopping, The Opera House, The Munch Museum and Parliament are all an easy walk in a walkable neighborhood. We stayed on the 2nd floor facing a beautiful square in front of the train station with trams running 24/7 - our room was quiet! Having an early flight out on our last night the hotel offered to pack us a breakfast bag to go! It was amazing! The hotel is the 100-year old original Cruise Administration Building - old elements with a beautiful renovation. I’d stay here again in a heartbeat, it’s a great hotel.

We loved our stay at Amerikalinjen! The location couldn't be beat and the property is stunning. We were surprised by how quiet the room was given that there was a tram stop and train station right out of our window. The staff was great and so was the breakfast. We also really enjoyed the drinks we had at the bar. We were sad we could only stay one night. We'll be back!

One of the best central City based hotels I’ve ever stayed at. Everything from staff to condition of rooms was immaculate! Make sure to visit the bar downstairs and get a cocktail as well.

Staff is nice though it appears someone lost my fedex package. Room is small and heating poor. Complimentary breakfast is very good. Sauna is good .

Great and interesting hotel! Very Norwegian with a mix of old and new styles to make the property fun and interesting. Even though its close and extremely convenient to the train station, it is very quiet and peaceful. Fantastic and friendly staff and they serve up an excellent breakfast buffet. Definitely recommend and would stay again.

This place is all about details. The staff are incredibly welcoming and remember guests names. The hotel is in the heart of Oslo and easy to get to all of the attractions. Its steps away from Oslo Central Station which makes it easily accessible by train. If you're a light sleeper you may opt for a room on the interior since there is a tram/bus station outside the hotel. The gym is well equipped: weights, cardio, and boxing equipment. They also have a sauna which is wonderful after a day of sightseeing in the cold. Breakfast has a large selection of food including gluten free breads and treats.

From the moment we stepped inside we felt the sincere hospitality of the staff. The hotel is beautiful with lots of great amenities, one of which is being steps away from the Central Station. Every staff member was just wonderful and helpful. We enjoyed the restaurant, the cocktail bar, and the jazz club. Did not quite get to the sauna, but that was ok. This should be the hotel of choice for anyone wanting to stay in Oslo. Well done!!

The hotel was lovely and the Front desk very helpful. The breakfast buffet was the BEST we have ever had, with many gluten free options. It was a block from the Train station. We enjoyed our stay very much.

Centrally located excellent service
This is a definitely outstanding place to stay right in the center of Oslo. It’s close to everything including the main train station. People are so friendly and attentive. Highly recommend.

This hotel is in a great location. Literally one minute walk from Oslo central station. Lots of shopping and restaurants around the area. Very convenient! The hotel itself is beautiful. It is historic with a touch of modern. All the staff are very nice and helpful. I highly recommend this hotel when staying Oslo.

Fabulous Hotel in the heart of Oslo, steps from the Central Station, rooms are nicely appointed and bathrooms was very nice and spacious. Atlas Restaurant provide wonderful and expansive breakfast buffet and small but nice dinner menu. Staff were friendly and helpful, would stay here again next time I am in Oslo

Good location but overpriced
This is is an overpriced hotel for what it offers. Our room was serviced late each day on the basis they were short staffed. The breakfast manager was excellent but the staff had a negative attitude. Henryka at reception was the only helpful member of staff.

Great city hotel 5*

The perfect hotel!
Location was ideal, right by the central station and within easy walking distance of many things. It was great to find out breakfast was included and the buffet was so good we didn't even need the a la carte options. Was really impressed to see they had a whole section for people with food allergies/intolerances too. The homemade cookies each night were a lovely touch! Shower was brilliant and the ladies on reception were super helpful and gave us some great recommendations. I wish the pillows had been a bit firmer but no complaints otherwise, would definitely come back.

The hotel was in the perfect location, the room was wonderful, and the staff was friendly and efficient. The breakfast buffet was fabulous. Unfortunately, the restaurant was closed on our arrival and there is no bell service. I would defiantly stay there again.

Great service in this recent conversion
Very welcoming service in this hotel - recently converted from the offices of the shipping line. One example was the breakfast bag prepared for my early check-out on Sunday - they also explained the bus replacement for the airport train - all beyond the usual level of care I would say. In a city with some quite big prices - this hotel is quite good value vs some peers.

Great Hotel in a Great Location
One block from the central train station and right at the beginning of Karl Johans Gate, the location is super convenient to everything. The room was very comfortable and the shower was enormous. Comfortable bed, my only complaint is tje room gets pretty warm during the night. Great breakfast buffet. A full breakfast with made to order eggs if you choose. We ate dinner at the restaurant and the food was very good, although quite pricey. Also had drinks in the bar area and the service was excellent. They have a special spritz they make and my wife really enjoy it. The drink looked like an early morning with fog. If I travel to Oslo again, I would definitely stay here.

I’d stay here again
Very good location close to the train station. We were within walking distance to many attractions. The room was large, clean and comfortable. Loved the large shower. The breakfast was delicious with many options.

This hotel was definitely one of my favorites thus far. Location is really great across train station and the hotel overall, from basic amenities to the room was really well designed. The room was sizable with interior design elements that I appreciated. The bathroom was big with herringbone tiles on the walls and cool lights; the floor tiles were detailed. I loved the backsplash mirrored walls in the bedroom that were tiled and a bit distressed. The ceilings were really high, window was big. I liked the velvet couch with the colorful pillows. I also liked the many different lights in the room. The room blended traditional wooden furniture pieces with more modern / contemporary accents, through the cool lights and the backsplash mirrored wall. The floor was wooden in a herringbone pattern; this seems to be somewhat common in Scandanavia. The breakfast spread was vast with high quality breads, pastries, and local cheeses, fruits, and great coffee / tea selection. The cocktail bar was also quite experiential offering innovative cocktails that corresponded to certain stories / themes regarding the hotel, while also offering a more standard menu. The tea selection in the room was also quite substantial with teas from AC Perch, a local brand. I think I took some with me on my way out ;-)

This hotel deserves 20 out of 10 stars! It is pretty close to hotel perfection. Everything is wonderful. Rooms are excellent, clean, and comfy. Bathrooms are probably the nicest in all of Europe (thank you for enclosed showers!). The breakfast buffet/service is amazing and they offer to-go bagels when you need to leave early. Room service brings freshly baked cookies to the room at night. The staff are all genuinely friendly and nice. The location is great, easy walk to train station and major tourist sites. This hotel was the highlight of our trip to Norway. You need to stay here!

Beautiful facility, an elegant blend of old and new decor. Bright, stylish and comfortable. Very conveniently located near transportation, major shopping area, and several of the city’s most architecturally impressive landmarks. Enjoyed our visit very much.

Perfection! The Amerikalijen surpassed all our expectations from the minute we stepped across its threshold. Incredible customer service in every instance - from check-in to dining to bar service.
