I realized that this hotel was in the seedy area of Meridian Avenue and Reno Ave. in OKC, but I did NOT know there would be a Denney's next door, and a dozen homeless drug addicts were hanging outside the hotel and on the grounds. BUT I did not realize that they would demand $50 in cash, as a deposit for possible room damages! NO credit cards. I had my dog and I was only visiting my sister for two days, SO I paid the cash and checked in. There was a big stuffed chair in the room, that had been cut and the stuffing was hanging out, so I just covered it with my canvas bag for a few days. Upon checking out, the manager informed me that I had damaged a chair in the room and they were KEEPING MY 50 BUCKS CASH. :( I was SO upset, waiting in this motel lobby, while the maid checks with the other maids. I was SO upset, I starting crying. I was a teacher for twenty years, so nobody ever thought I would tear up anything. They made me wait 15 minutes, while some addict young man wandered through the lobby and walked onto the motel property. She catched after him, saying, she just had this man arrested two days ago for trespassing. :( Finally, the maid returned, saying the OTHER maid remembered the damage and DID report it to the manager. A little debate insued, but I did get my cash and I was finally able to leave. YES, the room as really nice and the location is great for visiting the City, BUT, when management won't trust ANY of their guests, because of the rampant drug population?
