This hotel has NO ELEVATOR. You’d think the Expedia description would make that clear easily and obviously in the description. Had to walk up 3 flights with heavy suitcases.

We liked that the hotel is centrally located to the downtown area, shopping and transportation. The staff at the hotel were very nice. The food and service in the restaurant were excellent.

Very cute room with fantastic view. Excellent service and room was roomy. I really enjoyed my stay. The staff were very friendly and so helpful. They also gave me a late check out. And welcome drinks too. I will stay here again.

Great stay super close to the train station
Location - great, just inside the city walls by the main train station Staff - super friendly guy checked me in. Even gave me a small beer from the bar while I waited Room -= roomy, quiet, clean One comment - there is no elevator so be ready to go up and down one to four flights of stairs. Would definitely book here again

This property does not have an elevator and was not suitable for me - my room was on the 3rd floor. I had to cancel the second day because of this. The owner provided a refund. Also reception is not available until noon each day. The remote control on the TV did not work. The property is very picturess but not suitable for an older person.

Perfect Location at Great Value
The hotel’s location is perfect if you arrive by train and want to explore the old town area, everything is in walking distance! The room itself was clean and the beds comfortable, all we needed for just one night. Be aware that you will have to carry all your luggage up two or more flights of stairs. It didn’t bother us since we traveled light, but with a lot of heavy luggage that’s a problem. However, this is the only negative thing I can think of. We really appreciated the free welcome beer and water in our room as well as the fridge, not usually available in German hotel rooms. Plus we thought the value you got for the money was excellent!

It was an Amazon place to stay in Nürnberg. It's close to the main station and the downtown area. Be forewarned, there is no elevator and my room was in the 5th floor.

Great location! Easy to get off Train or Ubahn and property is very close. Step out of the hotel, turn left, walk a block and you’re in the heart of Nürnberg. The restaurant on the ground floor has some great food too!

Old building
A stay so close to the station in the Old town. Very old building, no air conditioning, no elevator. I was on the 3rd floor rm 5 at the back looking on the alley 😞 there was a fan but it did nothing for the heat. There was raucous party and firecrackers and noise all night. Double bed was 2 singles together that were on wheels so all night they would move if you roll over. The room was clean, service was friendly, mini fridge in room, good enough for a quick one night but definitely not for long vacation.

Right inside the Old City Walls
Wow, to stay just inside the old city walls of Nuremberg was awesome. This is a building built in the 1600s, which is cool, but realize this means no elevator. Fortunately, upon check in someone carried our big bag up for us. Sadly, they were no available on check out. Loved the view from the room and its closeness to everything, but it could use a little upkeep.

Comfortable centrally located near central station
Staff was friendly and the room was clean. The hotel is very centrally located near the train station. We stayed on the 2nd floor, facing the street. The rooms we not very sound proof and you can hear a lot of what was going on outside. If you’re a light sleeper, this could be an issue.

The hotel has a great location, it is just outside the main train station (less than a block) and is located right in the center of the city. Just walk out the front door and you are in a very nice area of the city with shops, restaurants, bars and the many sites Nuremberg has to offer. The rooms are clean and comfortable, the staff is always willing to help. It was also nice to have breakfast ready to go each morning in the dining area of the hotel. A very nice place to stay.

kind of bad luck that when we visited the temp was so high, as the room has no air condition, this was always going to be an issue. the room was lovely and the staff very helpful, the food is great as well. very nice place to stay for you are in the middle of the city, and close to everything

One fun night.
We stayed here with friends for one night, rooms were clean comfy and perfectly adequate. The staff were all helpful and friendly, the breakfast was varied and plentiful. The only downside is the lack of lift.

Very Warm Welcome
Great location, 5 min walk from the central station and if you exit at the correct entrance from the underground, you will find yourself right outside the hotel. Received a very warm welcome as I arrived, even a complementary beer which was nice! Great location, great for a single night business trip, single room was small, but adequate. Would stay here again.

Perfect location to leave luggage at the station!
Pillhofer is literally at the exit from the under street passage from the train station and in the main street into the altstadt, shopping and various squares. I saw the warning in a prior review about no lift. For €5 I left my 2 large bags in a locker at the station and just brought what I needed for the night in a plastic bag. Reception staff did ask if I needed help with luggage so I'm assuming they would have helped me if I had brought it all along. The building was full of character and very clean. The complementary water was much appreciated. I was on the third floor in room 504. It was kind of an odd shower; not fully enclosed so water got on the floor... Probably operator error. A shelf somewhere in the bathroom would have been useful along with tissues. Breakfast was the usual buffet but there was an offer to cook eggs which was appreciated though I declined. I wish I had been hungry enough to go to the restaurant for dinner; again, full of character and the menu looked great. I'm sure I will return to Nuremberg and will definitely stay here.

A very nice hotel. Great location near the main train station and the central square area. There is NO elevator and the stairs are steep! The rooms have locks on the room doors I was unfamiliar with which double locked when turned to the left. The staff was very nice. The front desk doubles as the hotel check in/out desk and the restaurant hostess and payment desk. They have a restaurant and beer garden area. There is a Dunkin Donuts next door and an Aldi grocery store across the street. Walk North towards the river to find good restaurants.

The place was great. The reception was wonderful. Very helpful with everything. They even explained what "fresh cold german with potato salad" was. It was a Bavarian joke. LOL
