Awesome!
My husband and I totally enjoyed our stay at the cottage....We could walk to just about everything....lunch, dinner....and only a short 30 minute ride to Niagara Falls! We loved this cute little town. Very qauint and quiet! Would definetly recommmend this place to anyone who wants to see Niagara Falls, but wants some peaceful quiet time!

Great location!
We had a wonderful stay in this charming little cottage for our Eclipse Trip (April 8, 2024) The cottage is cozy with an updated bathroom. We appreciated having Netflix and everything to make coffee and tea. The location is perfect. Close to the lakefront, the Niagara River Trail, and to Queen Street with restaurants, shops, etc.

Beautiful cottage.
We stay in the Niagara area several times a year. This was by far one of our favourite spots to stay. The cottage was clean, well equipped and comfortable. It was a bit cold so we didn’t walk into town, however in the nicer weather it’s just a few minutes walk. The owners came by one day and shoveled and salted the walk and driveway. We will definitely be back.

True Gem in NOTL
We’re never disappointed when we stay at Hawsepiper cottage. Peter and Debra provide a cozy, clean accommodation a short walk from either the Main Street or the lake.

Escape to NOTL
An outstanding cozy, comfortable little cottage. Absolutely perfect for my wife and I. 5 minute walk to the main street. 2 minute walk to the water. Convenience and comfort personified. Can't wait to come back.

Comfortable cottage in a perfect location
We had a great weekend stay at this cute cottage. It is a short walk to the lake and also to the main street where there are fantastic restaurants and shops. The beds were very comfortable, the kitchen had everything we needed, and the hosts were very responsive. Highly recommend!

“Watch step” does not fully describe the vault an older person needs to achieve to get into the house! My husband fell with suitcases in hand causing three open wounds in his leg. I’m surprised it passed inspection for a rental property. Yes it was clean and comfortable.

We are very sorry Mary to hear of your husband's fall. We wish you would have contacted us immediately when the incident occurred (both our numbers are in the key box). Due to the design of the cottage, steps are a necessity. As you are well aware the steps are made of concrete with wrought iron railings on both sides of the steps to assist entry into the cottage. We hope that this did not taint your time in Niagara on the Lake and also that you used the back entrance for the rest of your stay as it has just one step.

Perfect location - lovely cottage
This was our first time staying south of the main business area and we loved it. Quieter but just as convenient. Cottage is lovely and spotlessly clean. Beautiful landscaping.

Nice area but better likely better places to stay
Small house in a nice area. Rooms smelled stale similar to urine. Area is nice and close to a cute tourist town. Owners were nice but knocked on the door and came in the middle of our stay to “check in” which seemed a little strange to me. Unlikely to stay at same property on revisit.

We take pride in providing a clean environment, in fact we are very strict about this; all bedding and towels gets washed after each guest, all surfaces get wiped with disinfectant, our floors are mopped after each visit so I am not sure what you may have smelled. And I am confused as to why you would find it strange to check in on our guests? We like to meet the people that we host, get to know them in friendly conversation. We try to do this with all our guests to make sure that they have everything they may need, answer any questions, inform them of our check out procedures. We like to give a personal touch and show that we are not just a large corporate machine. We wish you all the best for your next vacation.

Hawsepiper cottage was awesome! We felt right at home. Our hosts, Peter and Debra, were fantastic. We enjoyed a few days in NOTL visiting a few vineyards and cycling in the region. We really enjoyed our stay!

Cozy House in a great location
The cottage was a great find. The online pictures really don't so it justice. We booked 2 nights as a halfway point between Iowa and Maine, thinking that Niagara Falls would be a great attraction. The falls were amazing, and about 25 minutes away. We had no idea, however, that NOTL would be the star of the show with its shops and pubs and location on Lake Ontario, and the cottage was only a few blocks away from the heart of it. We should have booked an additional day. The house was comfortable for three of us, and immaculately clean and well supplied. It would be a great stay for a couple, or a small family. I highly recommend it.

Vixens Visit Niagara on the Lake
We loved our stay at the cottage :-) Such a cute property and the hosts made our stay so comfortable. The proximity to downtown was excellent, providing unique shopping opportunities and access to delicious restaurants. Mostly, we loved the short walk down to the beach in the morning, while ending the day by watching the sunset on the beach in the evening. Everyone we met, while shopping in town and on our walks, were so friendly and kind. We were greeted at wineries by gracious staff, who poured us some of the most stellar wines of the region! Perfect getaway
The cottage is clean and a perfect size for a few days away from home. The location is an easy walk to downtown and even closer to the paths by the lake. Cottage is well equipped for making meals. And the big windows in sitting area make it bright and cheery even on gloomy days. Love the gas fireplace for early mornings and evenings. Neighbour hood is quiet.

We loved this home away from home and hope to return. The location is excellent - close to the water and to the main shopping district. The furniture was comfortable; the kitchen well equipped; the bathroom had a full shower and lots of towels; the beds were very comfortable and the linens were high quality; off street parking.
