“Great Value”
The Wingate was a great value. Clean rooms, helpful staff, great breakfast, convenient location, close to subways, Penn Station and within walking distance to 5th Avenue shopping, Rockafeller Center, Times Square & more. We plan to stay there on future trips.
“Will stay here again!”
Great location, friendly staff and large rooms. I had set my expectations low because everyone complained online about how small rooms in NYC are (not necessarily at Wingate though). I was pleasantly surprised by how big our room was-- we had the king bed room with a chair for sitting and a desk with chair. The room seemed clean- as did the hotel itself. Breakfast was pretty good- hot eggs, waffles and bacon/sausage. I will recommend to others and stay at this hotel should I ever go back to NYC.
“Very nice hotel”
This hotel was very nice and in walking distance to many restaurants and shops. It's also 2 blocks away from Madison Square Garden. The complimentary breakfast was also very good. The staff at the front desk were polite and helpful. I would definitely stay here again.

“Very Impressed....A hidden gem.”
On a whim, I decided to take my son into the city to see the NASCAR Victory Lap celebration around Times Square (Nov. 28, 2007). Being from NJ, we are only a train ride away, but being that we'd need to be up at the crack of dawn to see the parade, decided to stay overnight. I looked at several hotels, both in and around the Times Square area. I knew we were booking last minute (about 5 days in advance) and high prices in the city were not unexpected, but nonetheless apalling. I'll admit, I'm something of a "hotel snob" as I travel often on business, and while I knew I'd probably not be staying at a 5 star hotel this time, I at least wanted someplace clean, safe with a good location. I came across the Wingate. Looked like it had good reviews and the prices were alot lower than others. I was a bit concerned that we'd have to walk a distance to get to Times Square, but this was the perfect location. We were an easy couple blocks walk from Penn Station, and only about 7 from Times Square. While the hotel itself does not have a spacious lobby, concierge or other such amenities, its exceptionally clean, with large rooms (by NYC standards) and the staff could not have been more efficient and friendly. Every employee I encountered not only said hello, but asked if they could be of assistance. The room was well maintained, with tasteful decor and comfortable beds. Full breakfast was included, and they even had complimentary bottled water in the room. Overall, a great experience!
“can't wait to go back really”
We have a great time and stay at the Wingate in mid town. Our room was clean, comfortable and the location excellent.
“Enjoyable”
I stayed here with my two daughters for 3 nights. Hotel is in an excellent location and the room was away from the front of the hotel and was noise free at night. The breakfast room is quite small and there is a choice of hot or cold food but a bit more of a variety would have been nice. The staff were very friendly and helpful and I would recommend staying there.
“Great place to stay”
We stayed at this hotel for 5 nights and it was very comfortable, quiet and perfectly placed within the city. This hotel is great if you want to go shopping as Macey's is just around the corner. Penn station is just down the road if you want to explore but not punish your feet. Finally Madison Square Gardens is on the other side of the hotel if watching a game is more your thing.
“very accomadating”
Hotel was very clean. Wingate inn made you feel like you were safe at home in the "Big City". We will definetly return to this hotel.
“Can't wait to go back”
This hotel is centrally located 1/2 block from Madison Square Garden and 4 blocks from Timesquare. We walked everywhere except Battery Park for Statue of Liberty, we took the subway very close, safe and easy to understand!! Breakfast is OK bagels,waffles,eggs,cereal, fruit, bacon,toast, juice and coffee. I would recommend this hotel , very pleasant and comfortable!!
