“Two Star? I cant imagine what a 5 Star hotel would be like!!”
Myself and two other friends recently stayed on the fourth floor for a week, and the size of the room was more than enough, the beds were comfy, the shower was lovely, really powerful, woke u up in the mornings ready for the big walk round NY. Great location! Easy access to the metro! Safe neighborhood! Staff were great, friendly and helpful! The housekeeper was amazing, looking after 3 twenty something guys, keeping it tidy coudnt hav been easy! The room was spotless!! Would and will stay again! Dont be put off by other reviews! At the end of the day its a bed to sleep in a few hours a night to catch your breath until your ready to hit the city again! Thankyou Days for a great visit! Matt, James and Russ
“Not that bad at all”
The hotel was really nice. Great neighborhood. Close to all. The room service..not that great. But overall cute room.
“Maybe too expensive??”
Maybe a little bit too expensive for 2 star hotel.
“Upper West Side Motel is Nice for Short Stays”
The Days Hotel is located in an Upper West Side of Manhattan neighborhood. This is a good thing! Why? Because it is quieter than Mid-town or Downtown Manhattan, and generally less expensive then hotels located on the Upper East Side of Manhattan. The Days Hotel is older, but it is kept well. The facilities are clean, and everything works. Each room has its own bathroom, and ours was updated. The Hotel itself is conveniently located within one-half block of restaurants, fast food establishments (McDonalds, Ducan Donuts, et al) and retail establishments. The 1,2,3 train (subway) is located just three short blocks away (unlike the long blocks of midtown) where you can move North or South in all of Manhattan. For example, we took the local 1 train to 42nd street and thereafter walked to Central Park to the East Side where most of the Museums are. However, don't expect a continental breakfast here. Instead, all the rooms have a small coffee pot and a healthy-type breakfast bar. If you want a bigger breakfast, a diner is conveniently located aroud the corner and 1 block down the street.
“Clean, Quiet & Comfortable. Happy to stay there again”
This hotel was actually an upgrade as there was a problem with my original booking. The staff were, without exception, friendly and helpful. The hotel had 2 banks of elevators so I rarely had to wait, though one bank was fairly rickety. My only quibble would be that the shower was rarely hot. It was never less than warm and was acceptable though. Linen & towels were changed daily. The area around the hotel had several cafes/diners & restaurants and a good variety of other shops. Opposite the Hotel was a laundry service open from 7am. I was able to drop of washing on my way out and collect it washed, dried and folded on my way back to the hotel in the early evening. The location was ideal. Quiet at night and good transport links. 3 blocks from central park and 2 minutes walk from a Metro station. This station had an express service so it was less than 10 minutes to Times Square and easy access on to the Wall St area, Battery Park & the free ferries to Staten & Governors islands.
“Will go back again”
Days hotel was one of the better budget places that I've stayed in NYC for the price and overall upkeep of the premises. And it did have hotel amenities like the standard soap/shampoo/hairdryer and bed with sheet, blanket and coverlet. Others that I have been to either required shared bathrooms or the bed seemed to have been thrown in as a after thought with just a single sheet and scratchy blanket. My only complain was the bathroom was very cold (floor tiles) having visited in the winter. However, no complains about the heater. Had to get up middle of the night to turn it off. So I did sleep very well. Plus you can't beat having a 24hr Duane Reade right by the corner, a mini-supermarket opposite the street and lots of eatery nearby. Oh, and I must mention that the subway is a few steps away. Very convenient since the express trains (2/3) gets you back to the hotel very fast after a day of sight-seeing.
“Can't wait to go back.”
People who work there was very nice. I will be staying there next time I go.
“Good Location/Nice Room”
The hotel location was great, away from the hustle and bustle yet only a few miles away. Very close to Central Park, AC, good hole in the wall eats around the area (Thai restaurant/Chinese restaurant up the street, Duane Reade's next builing down...awesome.
“Can't wait to go back”
I enjoyed my stay at Days Inn and I plan to go back next time I'm in New York and where the hotel is located I can get on the subway without any problems. It was clean and very quit.
“hotel tres satisfaisant”
