“Island Charm”
A Real Taste of the Bahamas.. And an unexpected wonderful Treat. The decor is impeccable Island life, The Staff and the Owners are Wonderful. There is an interesting and colourful array of artwork everywhere. Even the Live music is calming and pleasantly welcoming. This Hotel is a Must see experience. There are Much more expensive hotels, but none come close to the ambient quality and true Charm of the Towne Hotel. I have travelled from one end to the other through out the Caribbean, And I will stay No Where Else While in Nassau...
“very charming”
My girlfriend and i really enjoyed this place. It had a great caribbean charm, which many of the resorts lack. The A/C and ceiling fan worked well enough to keep us cool at night, and we had a small fridge to keep our drinks and snacks cool. The bed mattresses were on the soft, worn out side, but after busy days of swimming and walking around, we slept like babies anyway. The breakfast was simple, but that's what I like. The location was fantastic. We could wander 200m to get into the centre of town, another 100m to get to a public beach. For the money we saved staying here versus a resort, we were able to play with Dolphins and swim with Sharks. If you really love animals, do the Dolphin Encounter at the Blue Lagoon. Also, we strongly recommend Stuart's Cove; it was a magical experience for us. One more thing, try to take the water taxi to Paradise island, rather than the normal taxi. It was a bit cheaper (6 dollars for two for the watertaxi versus 10 for the normal taxi). Enjoy!
“Can't beat the price!”
The hotel is just the basics. It was clean and orderly. Don't expect a mint on your pillow, but if your looking to save a few bucks this is the best spot. It is right downtown and that will minimize the costs for a taxi. We went on a Blackbeard cruise and the cost to the docks was $29. Breakfast was the same everyday, orange juice, sasuage, boiled eggs, cheese, toast, jelly. Expect to pay for water though.
“Nice City, Ok hotel”
Good price for the services
“match your payment”
shopping and eating area, pretty close public beach, it is a very thinkable hotel.
“meh”
A decent, no frills place in a great location. Still overpriced (for something that isn't even as nice as a Motel 6), but that's the Bahamas. The lobby and courtyard are ok, in an islands kind of way, but the rooms really aren't great.
“Good Value for Money”
After reading some reviews on other websites, we were a little worried about this hotel.... but upon arrival we were pleasantly surprised. The hotel was quite cute and staff were very nice and helpful. The breakfast which was included in the room price was actually really nice. Location was great (only a short walk to the main street). The only negative I would write is that the beds had this grotty plastic sheet stuff on under the sheets, so that was a little uncomfortable. Overall, great for the value.
“Know what to expect, then enjoy.”
To be very clear I went in with low expectations, so if you are not used to staying in low budget places this may not be for you. The room was ample. The bathroom was small and the shower drain slow. Only soap & TP were provided, so plan ahead. The AC and room fan worked but I'm not sure they would cut it during the summer. I smashed two cockroaches in an 8 night stay, so if you can't risk a bug encounter this is not the place for you. The WiFi reached to my room on the top floor and the speed allowed me to upload a few hundred high resolution pick to facebook, and Skype with family (big savings over my cell phone). (Useful WiFi is a big deal for me.) You may not know about the area: despite the response I got on the cab ride from the airport (use you safety belt) a good way to gauge the safety of the area is that McDonald's nearby has two security guards during the daylight. Also, much of the town rolls up the proverbial sidewalks after 6pm. The front door is locked 24/7, just buzz to get in. Please not if you are looking at the map on Towne Hotel's direct web site that south is at the top, not the bottom, The Google maps location is good, and cab drivers do know the place. Most cabs are cash only, but if you are using USD it works the same as the local stuff. Up shot: this place served me well and saved me over $100/night compared to staying where my meeting was. If you can handle a couple of bugs and a rough area after dark you my enjoy Towne Hotel.
“Personal View”
OK for evernight. I was kepty waiting 15 minutes at front desk and ignored.
“Almost got robbed in front of motel”
Friday night I got approched by a postitute in front of the motel when a guy came up and tried to rob me!!!!! So I'm not pleased with this motel!!!!
